No matter how many times I post here that Andy Cohen is not in charge of Bravo programming it seems the message is lost on the new people. Part of the problem is that Andy rarely corrects anyone who messages him about hiring or firing people on Bravo. That changed today when Andy made a statement on his radio show today
“There’s so much happening in the Bravo universe. I will say this…so much talk about Vanderpump Rules and then of course the reunion ended up airing last night. I will say this about what happened. I absolutely support Bravo’s decision, I think it was the right decision and I want to remind people because… I’ve been getting so many tweets and messages and whatever about Vanderpump Rulesand about Southern Charmand other shows. I am not..I don’t… I feel like I remind people this all the time..I’m not in charge of programming at Bravo anymore. I am not an Executive Producer of Vanderpump Rules. I don’t have anything to do with the show except I love it and that I host the reunions.I don’t produce the show so what I want people to know is I have no say in hiring and firing.”
As Tamara Tattles Exclusively Reported here, along with the firings, all the Bravo suits were on conference calls trying to determine a plan for more diversity not just in casts but in crew and upperlevel positions as well. On his radio show today, Andy said he had a long conversation with Kandi Burruss who had some great suggestions on how to accomplish that goal. Tamara Tattles exclusive source stated that Nene Leakes was part of a conference call with the Bravo suits about inclusion. Both SOURCE and myself found that rather hysterical.
RHONY And RHOBH Will Be On A Short Hiatus
Also, as a side note, due to the pandemic, post production on both RHOBH and RHONY was disrupted. After filming ends, there are still talking heads to do, and occasionally a brief scene may be shot to be used as continuity between scenes. The quarantine made doing things like that more difficult with some housewives having to shoot their own talking heads and such.
So tonight we have a rerun of RHOBH with commentary from I think Dorit and Garcelle. I won’t be bothering with that. I’ll be recapping MAFS Australia instead. Tomorrow we have a new episode of RHONY but then it two will be on hiatus. It’s not clear how long the post production process will take. I initially heard it would be for two weeks. But now I am hearing they may need three weeks. Thankfully Top Chef will not be effected as the season filmed much earlier.
I guess Andy really fears the Pump Rules backlash if he’s now admitting that he has no control over that show. He definitely does not want to go down with a sinking ship, and it seems like the cracks are finally getting noticed on Lisa Vanderpump’s glamorous facade.
On a similar note, I read blog post that Billie Lee recently published. I’m still disgusted by how Bravo, Evolution, and LVP tossed her aside like garbage, and I’m glad Billie Lee noted how they all did the same (if not worse) to Faith. As terrible as Stassi is, the accountability shouldn’t end with her, Kristin, and the other two jackholes.
You can just dislike someone though which has absolutely nothing to do with race!
I thought the same thing when I read this. He agrees but admits he has no control so it is like he walking the fence and trying not to make either crowd mad.
Maybe I’d have an easier time believing that re Pump Rules if Stassi, Jax, and the rest of the cast didn’t have such gawd awful track records (and Stassi and Kristen hadn’t falsely accused Faith of criminal behavior).
I read that earlier. You know how certain things you read/hear/see just really get under your skin and irritate the hell out of you? That’s how I felt about Billie. Lala was a cunt to her. The WeHo Witches were total bitches to her, and LVP could not have cared less. I liked Billie on the show. She was not crude, rude & abusive enough to fit in with the assholes though.
For me, that was my final breaking point on LVP. Until the Faith and Billie Lee scandals, I really didn’t want to believe what TT always warns us about the “Royal House of Vanderpump”. But now, it’s hard for me to watch any of Pump Rules.
“Now admitting” – I’ve not listened since the pandemic and quarantine started because I’m not in my car (and I forget to listen at home) but Andy has been reminding listeners for years that he is no longer at Bravo for scheduling, etc. His only jobs at Bravo are what you see on the air – as the host of WWHL and as host of the reunions. He is still an exec producer on the HW shows, but that is separate from being specifically the programming guy at Bravo. Is he still friends with many there? Sure, but he doesn’t have decision making powers about programming.
He is still exec producer on the HW franchises, but he’s one of several there and doesn’t have absolute decision making powers. I looked at his IMDB to see if he was EVER a producer (he used to be one for Project Runway, but hasn’t been since 2008). Nope… so wasn’t even in on the hiring process, etc.
Does Andy not have any power? Making the decision is one thing. Wielding your power by, say, refusing to have certain people on your talk show could also influence change.
I’m curious to see how this goes. Bravo keeps things segregated, to the extent that shows with African American casts seem to even be kept to one night. I can’t imagine them doing anything differently.
I’m also curious if maybe we can see some people of color who don’t get into physical fights. It’s bad to show that constantly and call it “reality.”
Oh like Southern Comfort New Orleans which they cancelled?! I loved that show :(.
No! That show got so good once RC was faded out. Say it ain’t soooo 🙁
Sorry TT but I call bullsh_t on Andy’s story. Does the term, ” silent partner ” come to mind? This guy is a status climber! He wants to be the next Dick Clark. He just bought a house in the Hamptons. Nothing wrong with dreaming big, I like him but he luvs to piss on ppl’s leg & tell them it’s raining!!
LMAO He luvs to invite Lt Wing celebrities to WWHL to drag the others (Rt). Who the hell cares. We don’t want to hear about politics! It’s so annoying. He can use his radio show for that! It’s depressing. 🙏
I’m not even sure how to respond to this. I am no advocate for Andy Cohen. He also HAS Staus and is allowed to buy a house in the Hamptons. He makes a shit ton of money and has a child he wants to get out of the city. You are the one bringing up politics and no one knows what your abbreviations mean.
There’s nothing like having Nene’s insight (SMDH). I would listen to Kandi before listening to Nene any day.
I just have to roll my eyes at his statement, just like LVP’s statement. It’s no surprise to either of them and they really didn’t have a problem with it until the protests broke out. I’m glad Bravo is finally doing the right thing, but it’s not like this behavior is new to them so…
I just read that Stassi’s Mother is urging fans to campaign to get her re-hired at Bravo…..ugh!
Stassi’s kid brother posted about what a kind loving person Stassi is and how she deserved forgiveness and a second chance. I feel sorry for the kid, but she’s a cunt and everyone knows it. It has since been deleted. Probably because social media assholes gave him a list of TRUTHS he didn’t need to be exposed to.
Andy himself referred to this site as ratchet & implied Kenya was the author / owner of this site ! He is absolutely clueless. He is just trying to walk away without any responsibility for the dumpster fire he has been lighting since the begining of the Bravo franchises. Alledgedly..
Marc, agree about your take of Andy Cohen, he laughs and giggles about all the nastiness the housewives do to each other. He stirs the pot.
Nene is gunning for Andy on twitter. I find it disgusting that Nene is making BLM about HER. Isn’t she one of the highest paid, if not the highest paid talent out of all the Real Housewives?
There is a building for production in the financial district of Manhattan worth a hundred million dollars worth of production stuff in it that the CEO refers to in certain circles as “The House That Nene Built”
Remember the other day when I mad a post about Nene farting? It was the highest ranking post for two days or more. And on the first day it accounted for more than half of my daily views. It literally said nothing except Nene farted today. The other lengthy difficult posts were a tiny fraction of the views. She’s a cash cow for Bravo and is by far the highest paid housewife with just over $100K per episode, AND SHE WILL BE GETTING ANOTHER RAISE for the upcoming season.
I, for one, clicked that post because it had “farted” in the title! My inner Bart Simpson giggled.
LOL no worries. I am going to do a series of Nene posts in the future. A girl has to be able to afford the good pork chops that rich people have be hiding from us for YEARS. lol.
I am blocked by Nene but from what I understand, she’s just wanting to be the racism expert. Bravo is giving her a voice because she is the cash cow. But PORSHA is the expert of the moment. And Kandi has some good ideas too. Nene wants to be a white woman. She seems to have distanced herself from her race years ago. I’m sure I’ll get shit for that. But that is my observation.
So true. I love what Porsha has, and is saying. And NeNe wants to be a white woman is epic!! 😂😂
Bravo firing these people so long after their comments really rankles me. I feel like I should repeat a question (paraphrased) from Sandoval “Why did it take backlash following George Floyd’s death to make you do something?”
Max and Brett are not in the same ballpark as a Stassi and Kristen. They made their remarks YEARS BEFORE appearing on VPR and apologized back then AND before Floyd’s death. Stassi and Kristen were on the show with Faith, so even though it did not take place ON the show, they were PART of the show when they said and did the offenses. We all know Bravo likes to stir the shite and reward those who stir. This is so hypocritical. Involving NeNe Leakes in a discussion about disrespect and violence is the EPITOME of hypocrisy.
Someone reminded me — I ONLY VAGUELY remember this — about LaLa saying she would leave out expensive things to see if Faith would steal them, Was that because Faith had been suspected of stealing — or PROFILING? If it was LaLa doing it to test based on Faith’s race, SHE SHOULD BE FIRED ABOVE the other four.
Another thing: Bravo has not chosen its Bravolebrities based on their good character. They were chosen to make good TV. Is reality TV going to “star” only people who conform to a certain standard of “acceptability?” That is not reality. If Max and Brett were fired for things they SAID years ago, shouldn’t Margo and NeNe be fired for their past felonious ACTS?
LOVE THIS!!!
And Brandi Glanville for her remarks toward Joyce, Kelly Dodd for anything that comes out of her mouth, Lisa Rinna for her Halloween costume, Kathryn for her monkey emoji to a POC, Luann for wearing black face, Ramona for being alive. I’m sure there’s more, but Bravo truly doesn’t give a shit. They are doing to minimum to appease the masses. Both Andy and LVP proved they don’t give a shit either.
Andy should go as well, I have listened to his radio show and he has also made statements about “what’s the big deal with gone with the wind?” ” I really dont understand all the hoopla with (insert any marginalized person in the news story) like what’s that about? The women Matt Lauer and Harry Weinstein raped, excusing Kim Z.’s last season of RHOA. Trav, Brandi, and Leanne L. Let’s not forget Nene can beat people with belts and yup Andy doesn’t get the big deal??? I’m so over his over bloated, self entitled bigoted ego. He needs the diversity and history training as well. Rant over, soap box tucked away. Andy has made his millions off off stirring the pot of racism and sexism, and misogyny.
The Gone With The Wind stuff is just RIDICULOUS. You can’t apply today’s values and beliefs on historical events during slavery. Shall we get rid of The Color Purple too? Roots? Harriet? (Cynthia Erivo was ROBBED of her EGOT for that movie!) Remember that whole quote about “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it?”
Hattie McDaniel was the first black actress to win an academy award for her role as Mammy in Gone With the Wind. That was a milestone. Yes, the movie was set during the Civil War during slavery. Like TT said, there are other movies set in that time period. I think we should be more focused on the things we watch today, scripted and not scripted, set during present time, that exclude, degrade, etc.
I have loved Hattie McDaniels since I was a kid! Watch her in Alice Adams with a young Kathryn Hepburn, amazing. I urge you to go on YouTube and watch one of the documentaries about her. When asked about her feelings on being cast in maid roles she said I can make $700 a week to play a maid or I can make $7 a week being one. Go watch!
If Jax is fired or gets a Vicky style paycut, J/B will prolly have to move to Kentucky and THAT would be a show I’d watch for sure
