You guys, I remembered it’s Summer House recap night! I didn’t lose a day this week! Small victories y’all. It’s still Lindsay’s murder mystery birthday party. Hannah drags Amanda and Paige over to talk. She is not happy that Lindsay wants her to confront Amanda and Paige about the gossiping. The murder mystery finally begins. If I had any, I would want Kyle to attend all of my theme parties. He is a lot of fun and gets so into character. The actors hired were good. Carl gets sloppy drunk because Stephen is there with Lindsay, while Carl is alone. Like he should be. Paige guesses correctly that Lindsay was the murderer. Then, Paige takes the opportunity to take Lindsay to task. Paige, Lindsay, Hannah, Amanda and Danielle argue. There’s a lot of back and forth. Lindsay declares her birthday ruined. In the pantry, Lindsay cries to Stephen. Hannah, Paige and Amanda continue to talk shit. Jules is so happy to not be a part of the drama.
Those Who Live In Trainwreck-Relationship Glass Houses Shouldn’t Throw Stones
Everyone heads out to the club. Lindsay rallies to hang out with the girls she was just fighting with. The next morning, Paige begrudgingly wishes Lindsay a happy birthday. Carl dresses up as Lindsay, which was pretty hilarious. His outfit is a pink spandex outfit with “Hubb House” written across the chest and back. Hannah tells Paige and Amanda that Luke is taking her out for her birthday that following week. Paige doesn’t like the Luke and Hannah thing. She feels that Hannah is losing herself to Luke. It seems like Paige is sad that she’s losing her time with Hannah to Luke, but whatever.
The next weekend everyone, sans Kyle, goes back to the Hamptons. Kyle is at his family reunion with his SUPER CUTE grandmother. That family seems like a lot of fun. Amanda didn’t want to be a part of it for some reason, so she’s at the Hampton’s with everyone. Amanda, Paige and Jules question Luke and Hannah why they aren’t having sex. Luke explains that he cares about Hannah and doesn’t want to rush things. Hannah basically tells them to cut the shit. Amanda shuts up quickly. As she should. Does anyone else find it odd that she doesn’t want to spend the weekend with her fiance? With the family she’s marrying into? Maybe it’s just me? Amanda and Hannah continue to quarrel. Amanda feels that she’s looking out for Hannah. Hannah feels that Amanda’s relationship is a train wreck who can’t say shit about shit.
I Love You. Just Kidding!
Hannah plays a voicemail from Luke that says Happy Birthday and he loves her. Then he tries to take it back and say that he likes her. Lol. He sounded somewhat drunk. Hannah says they haven’t discussed it since he left it. Alone, Hannah tells Luke that Amanda pissed her off. Luke says that Amanda’s problem with him isn’t his problem. When they all sit down for dinner, there’s friction with Amanda and Hannah. Danielle tells the group that Stephen is a calming force for Lindsay. Lindsay and Stephen become official. Lindsay is so happy. It’s nice to see.
Hannah then takes Paige aside to see why Amanda is arguing with her. A few minutes into the conversation, Hannah figures out there’s something deeper happening. Paige confirms there’s something weird with those two. Carl is upset that Lindsay is so happy while he’s so miserable. He talks to Jules, who cosigns his pity party. She sees a fixer upper in Carl, which turns her on. Hannah wants to have sex with Luke, who turns her down. Why am I getting Jordan vibes now? Ugh. Luke is too hot for Jordan vibes. Hannah then turns to Carl for advice. She’s weirded out that Luke doesn’t want to have sex with her. Carl says Luke wants to take it slow. Luke is still not over his ex, so he doesn’t want to hurt Hannah. Luke overhears them talking. He is pissed. He’s over everyone talking about his and Hannah’s relationship-or lack thereof.
Next week on Summer House recap: Carl and Jules hook up. Luke reveals that he had sex with another woman while wooing Hannah. Amanda goes off on him. I can’t even handle having to hate Luke. I don’t know if I have the emotional capacity to do it. Speaking of emotion, I have a nice story that one or two of you might want to hear. It was the girl zooling’s birthday yesterday. She turned 11. She was missing her friends a lot. Our town’s police volunteered to do “birthday parade’s” for kids who have birthdays while quarantined. I emailed them then emailed her friend’s parents to coordinate. Our girl had what she says was her “best birthday ever”. She was so overwhelmed with the fire trucks, ambulances, police and friends who made posters and signs for her. Her brothers and the neighborhood kids got to enjoy it while all of us adults cried happy tears. It was a beautiful moment in a bleak time. We need to look for the good where we can find it, so hopefully it helps. Stay safe everyone. See you in the comments!
