I am two episodes behind on this show do to Corona brain. So I am going to try to do a double Shahs of Sunset recap tonight. First we see Destiney at breakfast with her sister that she used to do The People’s Couch with. She wins to her that people aren’t showing her the respect she deserves. That’s because she doesn’t deserve any.
Tommy and MJ go to see a therapist. It is mostly for Tommy to get help dealing with MJ’s near death. It is triggering Tommy bringing up all the childhood feelings of the death of his mother. Later, Tommy’s Iranian lawyer, Polina makes a housecall to talk about his court cases. He has one in criminal court for vandalism by pot throwing. The civil case is for the restraining order. It is up to Reza to decide what happens with the restraining order. The criminal case could be either a misdemeanor or a felony. Click here to read how all the court stuff played out.
Reza Throws Yet Another Dramatic Fit For Attention
Golnesa and Sara go to see a Reiki Master to cleanse their chakras or whatever. She shares with Sara that she had an ectopic pregnancy and is on medications to have the fetus dissolve and work its way out. I am probably not explaining that correctly. The next time we see Golnesa is coming out of emergency surgery. They took both of her Fallopian tubes out. Golnesa blames herself for having too many abortions when she was younger.

Nema and Destiney come to film with her take care of her afterward.. Destiney even bought a nurse’s costume for the occasion. Later, all the guys show up with flowers. Reza brings a cake. I’d like to point out that none of this happened when Mercedeh almost died.
Reza Needs A Hug
Golnesa basically says that she feels like this is her karma for her treatment of MJ. Sort of. Then they talk about mending the friendships. Reza is not having his. No one seems to understand how hard his breakup with Mercedeh is on HIM. Why is no one showing compassion to Reza instead of the two people who nearly died? Reza cries. Then he apologizes for making everyone chose sides. Reza is a drama queen. He gets the hugs he wanted from everyone. Now he realizes he needs to talk to MJ. I am shocked that chocolate cake didn’t get tossed on someone.

Okay, I am ready for part two now. In the interim, I took a shower and put on clean PJs and I have some sort of homemade feta, sundried tomato and green olive hot pocket thingy in the oven using Pillsbury crescent rolls. I don’t have a lot of faith in this quarantine recipe. I can’t remember the last time I took a shower or changed my PJs though. So I did something right today. Now on with the tonight’s recap.

UPDATE: It was Golnesa and Destiney’s trip to get botox that I missed. So nothing really.
Well, fuck. I was ten minutes late to start this episode and ONCE AGAIN my DVR did not tape the show even though it was set to do so. It appears that I missed the big sit down between Reza and MJ. I hope for once this is something they talk about ten times this episode. I saw a tiny bit of it on the preview and Reza didn’t seem like he could hold it together. It looks like the episode airs again at 10:30 so I can watch it then. This gives me time to eat. So whatever.

I am not sure why Nema is in charge of this country boots and brews scene. I don’t get his “branding company.” What good does it do to promote the event on social media after the event happens?

Do we really need another scene with Destiney fucking Sara’s brother in a hotel room? Why does she order for him as if he is a child? Then he acts like a child. Is he high or something? Is he drunk? Why does he keep burping and licking her? He’s so gross.
Tears & Apologizes
Oh good! I didn’t miss the sit down. It must have been a tease. Reza starts by giving Mercedeh a big Hermes shopping bag with a gift for the baby. Then, in his shaky voice he tells her he flushed the baby bracelet he bought for baby Shams down the toilet. I actually believe he is that stupid. Then he asks if he can wear his sunglasses inside to hide his tears. MJ does not give a fuck. Reza cries about how miserable he has been during their estrangement. He claims it started when he met with Ali. MJ was in bad shape in the hospital before that happened. He was sure able to pick up the phone to accuse her of some ridiculous conspiracy.

MJ is not having any of this. She clearly lays out all the things Reza did to her. Most importantly, he never called her to ask her what she knew about any of this. Just like he never called to check on her. Reza of course takes it back to him. Reza seems to be sincere in that he is not going to pursue charges against him. Frankly, production had a hand in that. They had to assign a member of production with the sole job of keeping Reza from self-destructing and disrupting the entire show.
Reza seems to want to make up. She is ready to get back to her husband and kid. Reza begs for a hug (he is doing a lot of that this season). They hug it out and MJ leaves. She knows she can’t trust a thing Reza says. She tells Reza he smells. Which made me giggle. Then she spritzed some perfume on in the car.
Gonna Ride ‘Til I Can’t No More
This is the most ridiculous event maybe ever for these fools. Mike is so jealous of Sherv. Golnesa is going but she is going to need to stay in a wheelchair most of the time. Because wheelchairs work so well at country western concerts out in a field. It seems Destiney is not speaking to Sam after their bizarre date. So off everyone goes in the party bus.

Except for MJ. She drove herself. Golnesa says she is not going to talk to MJ at the concert. Reza says he forgives MJ but still seems to think she was the mastermind of all his heartache. Nema got Golnesa a scooter.
After all sorts of wandering around taking photos, they all sit down for some BBQ. For whatever reason, Mike stands up and starts interrogating MJ. First, he asks if she knew about naked Jenga. He asks if she knew about the inappropriate texts Adam sent Ali. He wants to know what type of people he is homies with. Are they all a bunch of fucking liars?
Hold Your Horses, Mike
Mike Shouhed, AKA the biggest liar on the entire cast is concerned his friend might all be a bunch of fucking liars? MJ says that she knew that Ali wanted to bring up an issue with Adam. It wasn’t clear what the issue was. Mike says she is lying. I agree with Mike. EVERYBODY KNEW ABOUT ADAM. Reza says that when he sat down with MJ she wanted him to believe that she was squeaky clean.

MJ then did admit that she knew about naked Jenga and the inappropriate texts and Ali’s issues. She apologizes for not letting Reza know in advance. She was kinda busy trying not to die at the time. They all line dance. Even Golnesa who should not be doing this much. So she ended up in pain on the bus begging for an ambulance. Then she said she probably just shouldn’t have eaten mac and cheese because she is lactose intolerant. Good grief.
Next week: It looks like MJ and Ali confront the real shit stirrer, Destiney. And everyone goes to Hawaii?
WWHL With Reza & Destiney
The two most awful people on the show are on WWHL tonight. SHOCKER! Reza did not drop the restraining order against Tommy and was granted a three year restraining order. Right at the very end, when of course my DVR cut out early, it seemed like Reza was admitting that MJ had brought the Adam issue up to him multiple times in the previous two years. She certainly did it at the last reunion. I don’t understand this whole shock and awe over what Ali said. It makes no sense. This was not news. It certainly wasn’t anything that MJ’s mind was on at the time. This reminds me of that season the tiny snotty Iranian was on and Reza dumped MJ for her. Now, Destiney is Reza’s new best friend. That’s fine. MJ has Tommy and that is a million times better than Reza.
I really want a slice of that chocolate cake. I have been dying for some form of a chocolate pastry. I am on my period and want some damn chocolate so bad.
It was really hard watching Tommy breaking down over the memories of his mom and MJ’s near-death. I do believe that the joy Baby Shams will bring into his life will help him heal. It’s extreme PTSD from both events so a good therapist — and CBD — may help. Reza is the most high-maintenance queen in all of the land. Even with all the crap in the storyline, I still laugh when I hear “naked Jenga.” Did their wieners get in the way and knock down the tower? More likely, it was a version of strip poker. Only Jenga. I hope they cleaned the Jenga set. Destiny needs to go.
Yes I agree with you..who believes that was Destineys first time getting botox! I think she tried to be some kind of a mistress or dominatrix with him but he was totally on something strong! lol

I cannot take Reza. He blames everyone except Adam. Tommy would have put him in the hospital if he had been home. Read makes sure his problems take center stage. Sad !!
How does Reza make himself a victim in any of the situations talked about in this show? No one has done anything to him. Well, except his husband, who Reza had previously embarrassed multiple times. Reza left Adam and went on their planned honeymoon trip without him. I would have never been able to get over that. I don’t understand how they are still together, because it seems like a lot of “tit for tat”. I could not live like that.
I guess it’s easier for Reza to be upset with MJ and blame her for everything than it is for him to be upset with Adam for playing naked Jenga. Smh. You can’t get mad about a rumor that’s fucking true.

I cannot handle any more Destiney. She has no SL. I am not buying her as the cool retro Cadillac (or whatever ) owner, not buying the sudden voy voy voying, like she’s been inhabited by the spirit of a Persian Nana, and she even sucks as a shit stirrer. The one thing Destiney reliably does is weep. I’m sure they could put together a show length montage of Destiney dabbing at her mascara while her eyes roll to the back of her head.

Fun fact : There’s a British muppet style comedy called Mongrels , it’s maybe a decade old now, it’s set amongst a community of mostly street dwelling animals. There is a character called Destiney, and she’s a spoilt indoor house pet, and an Afgan. There are some amusing similarities between the 2. Given we all have not a lot to do but fill our time and try to stay sane, I would recommend looking this series up for a laugh.
I also maintain that Reza has a phobia about babies, and how they are produced and where they actually come from. The mechanics of it. That’s how I explain his doubled down distance from MJ at the most important moment of her life. Plus we don’t hear anything at all anymore about Adam’s fiery need for a baby. Reza also visibly and viscerally reacted to GG’s announcement over coffee about her miscarriage. His body flew back in the chair. I’m interested to see how he treats GG during her pregnancy and birth. Also, Adam maintained his relationship with Asa and her newborn while Reza was nowhere to be seen.
That’s my theory, anyway.

I agree with Queenjen that Reza might have an issue about babies. Reza is awful to Adam and humiliates him repeatedly, deliberately, and publicly, and we have all known that their marriage is not stable. MJ wasn’t spilling any secrets there.

A lot of people still use Kodi via a VPN as you can access multiple countries via a good VPN.

Thank you for recapping this so it allows me to know what happens without watching the show. But the one thing I really want to know is how was your feta hot pocket thing cause it’s sounds delicious.
Well it took all of five minutes to construct because I can’t think anymore. That is why my recaps are normally a lot shorter (not in this case because I could not do the first one at all and did this over several hours). I generally buy those little jars of sun dried tomatoes in oil that you can find on an end cap of the produce section here any time they go on sale BOGO. Or anything even close. So they are in my Zombie Apocalypse Closet. I’ve sort of been preparing for this my whole life. Then I sort of stopped for a while. Because the pantry was getting full.
Anyway, remember when I went to see perhaps the last movie I will ever see in a theater, Harriet on oscar day and got to go to Trader Joes? Well they have their own brand of feta. They call it Greek Feta which is kind of redundant but it comes in a plastic tub and it is delicious. I wanted feta, olives and slivered almonds. I always have this pack of silvered almonds in my freezer but my freezer is a POS. And I JUST BOUGHT IT. All of the shelves fall down and I could not find them anywhere. It was time for the recap. I pivoted.
Basically, I had one of those tiny cans of crescent rolls that are some times on sale for a dollar. Single people can’t really buy a loaf of bread so I had a can on hand.
What I would have done differently would be to make tiny popovers. Cram less other stuff and more feta. The sundried tomatoes were the best idea. There are basically four crescent rolls in the smallest option. (HIGH CALORIES) . I think the best thing if you have some really great cheese is to make them into tiny turnovers with just the cheese. Also check on them a lot.
With all the crap I shoved in there the middle of the bread was less cooked and the outside was a bit too cooked.
These are my Top Chef critiques… lol. But they were good. The feta was over powered though. And I may never get that Trader Joes Feta again. But I still have some left and since it floats in water for some reason… I’m all good. I think I am done with bread though.
I’d give the original recipe a C+. My anxiety is up and I am just trying to find anything I will eat.
Reza is such a jackass I don’t know anyone can be friends with him really. I know people here hate on Golnesa having a baby, but her ectopic pregnancy was beyond heartbreaking and I’m so happy for her that she’s finally going to have the baby that she so badly wanted.
Also Destiney’s date made me want to swear off dating forever. Although I did join a dating site out of sheer boredom during the pandemic and got over a hundred messages, apparently people are bored. Who would have thought?

I think Gigi’s parents will spend more time with the baby than she will. I don’t see a strong maternal instinct with that one. The rest are meh except MJ, Tommy and Vida. I had to watch this episode.

Destiny needs to go like yesterday. I can’t stand her. I think Sam was behaving that way to drive her away cuz he didn’t know how else to do it.. or do guys actually act like that in public? TT- Thanks for the recap! I have a theory, of course I could be wrong but I think Sam acted immature, gross and foolish to purposely turn Destiny off. He got what he wanted from her and instead of blowing her off he forced her to walk away from him. It may have backfired because he looked repulsive.
I don’t want to come across as being unsympathetic to GG’s pregnancy loss… but WHY did they have to take BOTH TUBES for a singleton ectopic pregnancy? If she was pregnant with twins, the likelihood of each embryo, in an IVF transfer, each traveling up a Fallopian tube isn’t high.
