Here we are again for another Summer House recap! In the spirit of honesty, I must admit I lost a day. I am writing this up a day late because I honest to God forgot that yesterday was Wednesday. I watched Ozark instead of Summer House. It’s a Corona side effect I have only heard about until now.
We pick up where we left off last week with Carl yelling at Jules. Jordan has had enough. He packs his bags and leaves. No amount of Carl and Kyle eye candy will keep Jordan in a house he’s clearly not wanted in. Amanda and Paige console a sobbing Jules. Carl is such a prick. Hannah talks to Carl, who doubles down on his prick-ness. Hannah has me shaking my head. She is seemingly choosing Jordan over Jules, who she brought into the house. Best news of this episode: Jules and Craig hit it off! She stayed overnight with him outside of the house. There is literally no better payback for dealing with the amount of shit she has dealt with thus far. It would be worth it all for one night with Craig.

Justice For Jules
The next morning everyone wakes up tired and hungover. Hannah and Luke hooked up but didn’t have sex. Luke wants to wait until he sorts out his feelings for Jelena and Hannah. Jules confirms that she spent the night with Craig! YES! Jules takes Hannah aside to ask her why she would back Jordan over Jules. Hannah apologizes for hurting Jules. She is mad at Paige and Amanda for throwing her under the bus. Then,Hannah takes Paige and Amanda aside to tell them about her conversation with Jules. Hannah feels like she was used as a scapegoat.

Paige wants to hold a house meeting to clear all this up. Kyle feels awkward but it’s a necessary meeting. Jules says that she was willing to put Jordan stuff aside to have a good time for Kyle’s birthday. Carl says that Jules is disconnected from everyone. Jules starts crying. She says it’s a tough group to connect with. Jules asks for a second chance. Why? Her contract should be enough. Anyway, everyone “decides” to give her another chance. This makes me so mad. With the amount of drama each and every fucknut brought over the summer, how dare they do this to Jules? Unreal.
Trouble In PaigeHannahville
Back in the city, Lindsay invites Hannah to a laser removal event she’s hosting. Hannah gets some hair removed while filling in Lindsay on all that happened over the weekend. Hannah still feels hurt about Paige and Amanda telling Jules about what she said. Lindsay is pisssed. She says that Paige and Amanda are very cliquey. She thinks of Hannah as a little sister so she hates to see her hurt.

In her talking head, Lindsay says what we all feel. Who knew that kicking someone out of the house was a thing? If it is, she has a list of people way ahead of Jules! Hahah. In the meantime, Paige meets up with her parents. She tells her dad that Perry asked Paige to move in. She declined as she’s not ready. Smart girl! Paige tells her parents that she feels closer to Amanda than Hannah this summer. Interesting.
Amanda Seals Her Fate
Wow, we’re already back in the Hamptons! Kyle and Amanda arrive first. They bring food in without washing it all down. Remember those times? Everyone else arrives. It’s Lindsay’s birthday so she’s throwing herself a murder mystery party. Stephen is going to be there! Paige and Amanda go off to gossip. Paige is worried about Hannah and Luke. She doesn’t want to see Hannah get hurt.
Kyle tells the rest of the group that Carl is fucking up. Carl is noticeably drunk. Kyle says that Carl missed a day of work and didn’t report to the COO, who oversees Carl at work. Kyle set it up that way as to have no conflict of interest where Carl is concerned. Smart thinking. Just not smart to hire Carl in the first place. It does speak to Kyle’s heart and loyalty. He truly wants Carl to grow the fuck up.

Speaking of stupid, Amanda announces at the dinner table that she is now full time employed at Loverboy. UGH. This marriage is going to happen folks. She can’t get out now. Judgey rant coming: I actually like Amanda and Kyle. Separately. I don’t want to see them hurt each other to the point they lose the great qualities they each have. I feel like they both have good hearts and both are loyal to those they care about. If you haven’t seen the movie “The War of the Roses”, check it out. It could be their future. In this version, I would love to see Lindsay in the Danny Devito role!
The Mystery Of Why Paige Continuously Gossips About Hannah
Lindsay decides to call Luke out about Jelena. Luke says he ended things with Jelena. He STILL isn’t over his ex. Luke wants to take it slow with Hannah because he doesn’t want to hurt her. Carl makes a drunken ass of himself at dinner. He’s so stupid. He’s salty because Sarah didn’t fall for his bullshit.

After dinner, Paige and Jules are (shocker!) gossiping. Paige attempts to gossip with Lindsay who promptly shuts it down. Lindsay wants her to focus on her own relationship instead of Hannah’s. Lindsay goes to tell Hannah what Paige just said. To Lindsay’s credit, she calls Paige out, face to face, on her gossiping behind Hannah’s back. Paige can’t handle it so she walks away. Good on Lindsay! Paige tells Amanda what happened the next morning. Amanda is surprised, probably at the forthrightness of Lindsay.
Murder Time!
Stephen arrives for Lindsay’s murder mystery party. Everyone gets dressed in their best roaring 20’s duds. Kyle, as always, wins for most committed to his role. He looks and sounds like a black and white movie. This is one of the reasons I really do like him. Lindsay, Hannah and Danielle sit to talk more. Lindsay is upset that Hannah doesn’t speak up to Amanda and Paige. Hannah said that she did speak to them but they don’t remember throwing her under the bus. Lindsay says this is unacceptable. She wants Hannah to grow some balls where those two are concerned. Hannah looks confused as to why she should do that.

Next week on Summer House: Carl dresses up as Lindsay. Amanda and Kyle pick a wedding venue. Lindsay and Stephen become official. Carl is pissed about that. Hannah and Paige seem to argue. Cheers to the end of a great episode! The cracks of the Hannah/Paige relationship are showing. How do you feel about that? Let me know in the comments! Thank you for your patience with this being so late. I hope you all are safe, healthy and staying home!
I like when the recaps are a little late because I don’t always get to watch the shows when the air. I just watched this one a few hours ago. I loved seeing Kyle in the pen with all the little farm animals. It showed such a sweet (if drunken) side of him. I don’t understand why everyone in that house focuses so much attention on everyone else’s romantic lives when none of them are in a healthy, successful relationship. Carl has serious issues that he needs to work on before he loses another job. I used to like him, but he gets worse every year. Great recap.
Thank you! Oh good, I felt so bad this morning when I realized what day it was! That was such a cute little scene. He does have a good heart. He just struggles with the whole growing up thing. Carl is just the worst.
Thank you from one Kelly to another….I always look forward to your recaps!
I agree that I like Kyle and Amanda just not together. It kind of sounds like Kyle is calming down more with his drinking compare to past seasons which so what Amanda use to want.
I want Luke and Hannah together. I don’t get why they can’t realize Hannah can take care of herself. Also go Jules for picking Craig!
Craig is Jules’s reward for having to deal with Jordan and Carl.
I am so with you about not knowing what day it is! I’ve been working from home for 3+ weeks and dress in sweats. I have not worn real clothes in so long! It’s like one long sort of vacation, with work in between. I hope we all get back to normal soon. Take care all.
Also –
Kyle and Amanda- end your relationship!
Carl- OMG
Lindsay- finally getting her self confidence back after Kyle
Jules- find someone else
Jordan- just come out already, it’s 2020!
The rest – not so memorable, except maybe Hannah
Oh Tam, isn’t it surreal? I don’t think my real clothes will fit anymore once we’re able to leave lol. Thankfully we have technology and tv to get us through! Keep healthy ❤️
Am I the only one who strongly dislikes Lindsey?! And I don’t for a MINUTE believe Carl and her were ever really a thing. They did that for a storyline..
Hannah’s confidence is enviable. And I love Kyle.
I go back and forth on liking/disliking Lindsey. Odd of her to say Paige and Amanda are cliquey – aren’t Lindsey and Daniel cliquey, too? Lindsey was pissed that Amanda/Paige threw Hannah under the bus (rightfully so), but then she goes right in and does the same to Paige. I liked how Lindsey shut down Paige/Jules gossiping about Hannah/Luke. Let them figure it out – and everyone should focus on their own relationships. I thought it was funny how Lindsey said there was a whole line of people who should have been kicked out before Jules. It was upsetting to watch Jules have to deal w/this B.S. If anyone should be kicked out, it should be Carl – he’s always drama, every season!
On another note, I really liked Hannah last season. I’m not liking her this season. I feel she’s practically throwing herself at Luke. And to say no one is connecting w/Jules – how can Hannah connect w/her when she’s constantly up Luke’s butt? I feel that’s why Paige and Hannah are starting to drift apart – Hannah is spending all of her time during the week and on the weekends w/Luke.
Danielle, not Daniel!
OMG YES!!! I agree.. She needs to stop throwing herself at him.. literally the episode a week ago she said she wouldn’t be a part of a love triangle with Luke and his other girl.. yet here we are again.. oh well.
I like Jules.. she hasn’t been malicious really to anyone and always means well. She seems like a fun gal I’d want to hang out with.. Carl is just being an insecure asshole. He needs to go. It wouldn’t be the first time he gets fired from a job.
I really respected Hannah when she told Luke that! But then she didn’t stand by her word and has made this a competition.
I like Jules, too. She seems very genuine and nice. I can’t understand why no one stood up for her when they had that house meeting. Lindsey mentioned having plenty of people on the list to kick out before Jules. And for Hannah to side w/Jordan?! Didn’t make sense at all especially since she’s the one who invited her into the house. I’m guessing it was was really the production team who invited her and that’s why Hannah feels no connection to her.
I find Lindsey interesting and entertaining but she scares me, she’s very reactive. I despised some of her behaviors with Everett. Remember when she was screaming at him to bow down and kiss her feet? She wasn’t trying to be funny, she meant it.
I’ve never watched this show, is it like MTV’s “The Real World”?
Ummm…I haven’t watched Real World in years so I don’t know. I’m sorry. But it’s worth checking out if you have the time! Beautiful people in a gorgeous Hampton’s house. Can’t go wrong!
My favorite part of this episode was the fact they gave Shep very, very little airtime – except to show him with the ridiculous beer hat on his head. I was dreading Shep ruining my mindless TV hour. Escaping to the ridiculous world of Summer House was a perfect balm for my Covid-weary soul!
Hahaha yes!!! Completely agree about Shep.
I do wish there was more Craig though. He’s just perfection. Ugh isn’t it nice to see people less than 6 feet apart, without a care in the world? It’s the perfect escapism. Hope you’re doing well!! Stay safe.
Love ya, TT, and wish you well always.
I am isolated in my part of the house because I have heart issues and my sons want me in a bubble so I am offsetting movies with junk.
I put this show on the other nite – I watch less and less of Bravo – and my opinion hasn’t changed. That was my last episode because I strongly strongly dislike the show and the cast. They are always drunk and/or fighting. It is East Coast VPR.
There is no self respect. Kyle’s 37th bday was just the worst. I know 18 and 21 year olds who drank, had fun, and didn’t continuously act like a 16 year old whose parents were away. Carl – I just can’t. How old is he? These two males are both way too old for this. I can see Loverboy on the close out ‘2 For $1’ shelf this summer.
Whatever production company presents this show, please stop. Please send them all away. Oh, I forgot Lindsay: ugh squared.
Deep cleansing breath.
Wishing everyone health and peace, and a Happy Passover and Easter.
Oh boy. Stay safe and healthy. Happy Passover and Easter to you and yours!
Thanks so much for your great insights and recap, Kelly! I enjoyed it very much.
I swear, Carl is just so predictable. I knew as soon as Sarah blew him off he was going to throw one of his gigantic hissy fits – because it’s just not in his DNA to react to disappointment or rejection in a mature manner. But to see him acting like the almighty Grand Puba of the house and dictating that both Jules and Jordan (no loss, there) leave was beyond the pale. I mean, who gave him the power? Plus, I had to wonder if they all didn’t chip in before the season started for the house — or is that a production conceit and Bravo actually pays the tab? I guess my point is that in REAL life I think Jules would’ve already paid up for the summer so what would’ve become of her investment? Jordan was just leeching free weekends (and camera time) off Jules anyway, so why was there even a choice between the two? Disliked him last year and I dislike him even more this year. But it looks like he somehow slithers his way back into the group if the coming attractions are any indication and to this I have to ask WHY???
Say what you will about Luke, but I have to admire his restraint in not screwing Hannah until he’s sure of his feelings for her. God knows, in my dating days, most guys didn’t have that type of scruples. If the opportunity was there, they’d take it! Hannah and Paige are both showing different sides of themselves this season and I’ve been disappointed to see it.
Sorry for my rant, but these days I find myself wanting to yell at a piece of lint on the carpet at times. Lol
Thanks again for the recap. Hope everyone is managing to stay safe and try to remember that this too shall pass! ❤
A summer beach house in the Hamptons for rich New Yorkers is a real thing, but I think these folks get to rent for free. Drama is their rent, and they BRING it. Love this show and your recaps!
“I find myself wanting to yell at a piece of lint on the carpet at times.” That made me snort. Crazy times.
I think the first season people really did do the whole summer house thing before this show. Probably with a lot more people in one house though and not as nice.
I can see that Hannah is disappointed that Paige and Amanda told Jules what she said, but at the end of the day, she said it. I am so tired of people thinking that they can say whatever they want and not expect any repercussions or reactions.
Thank you!!
Craig is a nice, decent guy, not a mean boy. Not a prize, not sure why he’s appealing to you all. Unless it’s because he’s a nice decent un-mean guy and then I understand. Carl. Wow, such an overreaction to a girl he dated once or twice. That’s a lot of inward anger directed outward. And I would have fired him as soon as he was a No Show. I would not have given him a second chance knowing his past work patterns. LoverBoy is his second chance. Jules, you do not need to be there for him as we see in an upcoming episode. Again, I like that you seek the truth with your roommates even though what you hear breaks your heart. Lindsay, take it easy on the freebie fillers, botox and whatever. You were stunning at Season 1 without new boobs and a frozen face. Paige and Amanda cliquey? Seems like they are enjoying their friendship. Can’t tell if they are being dismissive of others. Hannah, the fact that Luke is thinking of his ex mean that he’s not that into you. He’s telling you that by not allowing the intimacy. Some things should not be a competition. Enough of the butt twerking. The whole Kick Jules and Jordan out of the house seems contrived and made no sense. Kick Carl out of LoverBoy instead. I used to feel compassion for Carl, now his being mean and petty is all I think about when I see him. Your parents’ bad marriage is not your blueprint. I forget how Luke got introduced to this group. How did he?
Thank you!! I agree!
Yes, Carl should absolutely be fired!
And yes, Jules ~ Do not be there for him, he will just use you and do the same thing he does to everyone.
Totally agree that Lindsay is going way overboard with fillers and botox and that will not end well, she will end up with that awful melty face situation. I doubt she will stop….Doubt she can.
So, these last 2 episodes have completely changed my mind about Hannah.
I used to pretty much like her, but thought she was overconfident.
Carl started the whole throw them out thing, but Hannah absolutely said that she chose Jordan, and that Jules hasn’t connected with people. She kinda acted like she doesn’t even know Jules.
She then never admitted that she said that.
Lindsay needed to stay out of it, they were basically over it until she started it up again.
(Which I am sure production told her to.)
I hated when she said she leaves the house for one weekend and this happens…Please
I thought Paige was more mature by walking away.
Of course my true opinion is that it’s all fake any way.
And are they seriously trying to pretend that Hannah and Luke didn’t have sex?
My God these people are in their thirties and talking about fingering. REALLY?
Carl just gets worse and worse and worse. A true LOSER. He looked horrible in that toga thing, but definitely seemed to enjoy wearing it.
So, was that crap with Amanda & Kyle all fake as well? They are not fighting and she quit her job.
(If it is, I am glad it was fake and they are good!)
With all that said, I just want to add that I think Amanda & Paige are SO PRETTY.
So glad Jordan is gone. Please don’t come back!
I forgot how he got introduced, too. For Hannah to state that Jules hasn’t made any connections in the house really baffled me. The only connection Luke has really made is w/Hannah. Maybe Carl a little bit. And I stated it before, how is Jules supposed to make a connection w/Hannah when Hannah is constantly paying all of her attention to Luke? Hannah is the one who invited Jules to stay there, but has she made any attempts on her own to bond w/Jules?
I am so dumb (corona induced? I think so). I got so excited thinking it was the OG Stephen!! I liked him on this show. Remember season one and two Carl when Stephen was in the picture?
Thank you for your recap! I mean, you reminded me what day it is.
loved OG Stephen! so funny!
serious tea time…
Luke’s ex lives in nyc. They still talk. Here is her instagram: @jellena_s
Bye 🙂
I love this show. First off Carl is a sociopath or closeted. Both? He wins the award for gaslighter of the year. Amanda hates Kyle and is repulsed by his behavior. I love Hannah but .this fake storyline where we are supposed to believe Luke and Hannah will end up together is ridic. Hannah’s clique doesn’t trust Luke because well let’s be honest look at Luke. Paige failed again impersonating a human, when do we find out she is a robot/alien? Jules this is not survivor, the level of desperation is embarrassing.
