It’s time to get caught up on 60 Days In recaps! Over in the women’s pod, Heather’s grand plan to get information involves striking up a relationship with Betsey. I don’t see the strategy in that. I also don’t see why they need to be in there 30 days to figure out the problems. The problems are simple. They need to have more than one women’s pod. They need to have at least two guards in the pod at all times. The guards need more training. The days need more structure. It’s all very basic stuff. Eventually, Betsey and Heather make out. Well, basically, Betsey lays one on Heather and Heather pushed her away. Now Heather feels badly for hurting her feelings. Nothing about this situation is a good idea.
Vanessa is back on point after getting a note from Tony. She was ready to quit until that happened. Then, for no apparent reason the guards decided to shut down her cell. They kicked her and her cellmate out. Vanessa was put in the cell with Angel. One of the girls who openly rolls “clone” cigarettes in the middle of the pod. Also, it looks like there might be three people in the cell. What is the point of this move? The two other cellmates are also suspicious about why Vanessa was put in their cell. Vanessa, you in danger girl.

But Angel, the violent cellmate Vanessa is stuck with is talking about stabbing another inmate who she thinks ratted her out to the police and got her locked up. Then, when Vanessa gets called to shower, the other two roommates think she is 60 Days In. They are conspiring to shank her in the cell when she comes back. When they are all in the cell they start asking for her full name so they can find her on Facebook and come visit her in Arkansas when they get out. Vanessa tells Heather she is done.
The Men’s Pod
Tony continues to be full blown inmate. Meanwhile, Pony Tail has met an inmate named Champagne. Champagne is a physical threat in the pod. Pony Tail has concerns about him. Tony on the other hand just wants to put him in his place. Because, Tony. Tony gave Champagne some snacks and is already anticipating him not paying him back. This is going to be a fight. Actually, Champagne caved and gave Tony what he owed him. I am kind of surprised about that.
Donovan is still trying to get chewing tobacco. And finally someone has made it through intake with about half a can of Copenhagen. He trades two e-cigs for the chew.

Two white guys with man buns have some sort of beef over one of them touching the other one’s wife inappropriately when they were on the streets. One of them offers Champagne forty bucks to beat the other one up. So he does. The guards didn’t intervene at all. There were no consequences at all for Champagne. Nothing. Donovan is furious. He says Champagne needs to be dealt with immediately.
Instead, since there are no consequences for violence in the pod, Champagne starts showing out. He’s acting crazy. The one security guard calls for a transport to move Champagne to another pod. The guard just wants to eat his Chik-Fil-A in peace. So he got nothing for the assault and two days in lockdown for being an idiot.
I love this show but agree with you that they don’t need a show to tell them what their problems are. For example, when the door was locked and the guard was having trouble with the key, an inmate said, ” Move over boss, I’ve got this…” and proceeds to open the door with a DUST PAN!!!!! That is a gigantic problem because…I don’t know…it is a JAIL!!! Tony acts like obtaining a shank is a major accomplishment. At the beginning of the season, they showed the viewers a banquet sized table full of handmade weapons. I am not sure what the additional 30 days is supposed to accomplish either. Heather is a moron. What did she think was going to happen flirting with that girl…the inmate? Damn, she didn’t even play hard to get. Oops, time to backpedal. These people are the professionals…just saying. Have a great day and stay safe.
I am scared for Vanessa! Are they going to get her out in time or Somehow get her moved to a different room? The cells are so unsupervised and she could be stabbed in no time. Scary!
I can not believe the guard was walking around drinking his big 32oz soda while Champagne was riding down the stairs on a bed. Way to be ready for action at any given moment!
I also can’t believe Heather starting a relationship with Betsey is going to give her important intel. Sure it is Heather! Totally makes sense!
did anyone notice or remember is Angel the same inmate that had the gluten allergy participant (sorry forget her name) give her urine to her to get released last season? I also can’t believe Tony this 2nd part, he has gone more inmate than all past participants. also just wanna say I’ve been reading this site for several months but since I’m now unemployed I’ve had more free time to be on it even more and finally have the courage to comment on my favorite recap you do!
Thanks Amanda. I had forgotten Angel was THAT Angel…
I am continually astounded that they just have one guard, and so vulnerable. I am amazed that a few of the inmates have not ever grabbed a guard and held him hostage or beaten him up.
