Old Lady Gang Shooting

New UPDATE 2/16/20: Photos of Gunman

The gunman from the Shooting at Old Lady Gang was captured on a man’s dashboard footage who was sitting in his car waiting to get in another restaurant.

WAGA Fox News Atlanta published two stills from the footage. In the first photo above you see the shooter in an orange track suit. What kind of fool wears a bright orange track suit to shoot someone. Everyone in the restaurant probably looked up at him and could give a description!

Fox Atlanta described the footage, “In the video, captured by a man waiting to eat nearby that night, the incident happens so fast that you could miss it. First, a black car pulls up to the restaurant and a man in a red or orange jumpsuit walks inside. Not even a minute later, chaos ensues. People begin rushing out of the restaurant and the video appears to show gunfire.”

In the second still shot we see the fool running out of the restaurant. The fool randomly fired his gun outside the restaurant but no one was hit.  “We saw the muzzle fire, the gun,” the man who provided the video told FOX 5. “It was a very terrifying situation.” The news site reports that the restaurant was packed the next day and no one wanted to talk about the incident.

UPDATE: Kandi Has Given A Statement:

Kandi issued the following statement about the Shooting At Old Lady Gang on IG.

My family and I are truly saddened by the unfortunate events that occurred at Old Lady Gang (OLG) Camp Creek, on the evening of February 14th, an evening that was meant to celebrate love, unfortunately turned into something quite different.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to the individuals that were harmed or in any way negatively impacted. We are aware that this matter is being actively investigated by law enforcement and we are cooperating with law enforcement to bring to justice those involved.

As African-American business owners, it has been our goal to invest in our community by bringing jobs, quality dining, and a positive experience to the greater Atlanta area; we hope that you know and understand that the acts of violence that occurred yesterday evening do not, in any way, serve as a reflection of OLG or its values.

We appreciate all of the love and prayers that have come our way and we encourage anyone with any information regarding any aspects of the events that occurred to please reach out to law enforcement as soon as possible.

Shooting At Old Lady Gang RestaurantShooting At Old Lady Gang Restaurant East Point Injures Three

Y’all the top story on the news right now is that three people were shot at one of the Old Lady Gang restaurants in Atlanta. The Old Lady Gang restaurant at Camp Creek Marketplace in East Point on Marketplace boulevard was the site of the shooting.

Shortly after 9 pm, a guy went into the restaurant and shot another male. Somehow he managed to shoot two innocent bystanders in the process. All three victims were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injures and are expected to recover.

According to a witness of the shooting at Old Lady Gang, everyone in the restaurant panicked and hit the floor. One of the gunshot victims was a female teenager. A nurse on the scene who was sitting at the bar at witnessed the shooting at Old Lady Gang was able to administer first aid until the paramedics arrived.

I hate this shit. You should be able to go out for a good night, minding your own business, and not have to worry about getting shot by some psycho. There may have only been 3 gunshot victims, but everyone in that building when it happened is now traumatized so that number should be much higher. So fucked up. I came home with my kids to someone breaking into my other car and we had a gun pointed at us as we drove in reverse away. None of us were shot, but the terror stays with you. This is horrible to hear.

The cops found him pretty quick. I think he had to have been on drugs because they had to tase him and he was still fighting them. The only thing that gave my kids peace of mind was that they knew he was in jail. It’s gotta be terrible for these families when the suspect is still on the loose. This happened last Dec and he just got sentenced to 3.5 years in jail for our case. He got additional time for assaulting an officer and also more time for pointing a gun at 2 minors walking home while he was chasing us. You think you’re brave until you have kids in the car that you’re making duck down on the floor. I don’t wish that on anyone.

Also at my last job we went through a trauma course that taught us how to pack a wound and use a tournquette (spelling I apologize). It was good information and highly recommend everyone at least googling it.

Who cares the area. It’s still bullshit someone would go to a restaurant full of innocent people and start shooting. People should be able to go out to dinner with their family and feel safe. I don’t care if it’s high class or in the ghetto. Nobody should go out to dinner expecting to be shot at.

It’s difficult watching from Australia and that “shootings happen everywhere” because that isn’t the case here. We had a ban on all semi-automatic rifles, semi-automatic shotguns and pump-action shotguns (straight after there was a mass shooting in 1996).

Unfortunately, out founding fathers wrote into the second amendment “the right to bear arms.” I’m pretty sure they didn’t mean to include semi automatic assault rifles but out Republican party is unwilling to even outlaw those. So we are all unsafe.

As much as I hated hearing about the incident at OLG, I am so going to eat there now that I know one is closer to me than downtown. My sister has lived in East Point for over twenty years and has been burglarized twice. Considering she is a white gay woman she has actually felt pretty safe in her neighborhood.

So shocking – innocently eating dinner and celebrating Valentines Day – and then a stranger comes in and starts shooting.

I have been checking for a response to this incident – via Kandi or Todd -not a word, in media or their social media. Last night I presumed we did not hear from either – as they may have been celebrating Valentine’s day as well.

I am positive they have both checked in with their staff and any customers contacting them. Not sure why the cloak of secrecy exists, disappointing.

Yeah, it gets harder and harder to motivate my old butt to go out and do things at night. I’m still working and busy all day, but now when I arrive home, I am like a Limpet — absolutely stuck. But I know good stuff still happens at night, so I berate myself for being so lazy, tell myself to go out and live. But a shooting at OLG on Valentine’s? It shakes my resolve. It’s scary to go out alone at night. Even in large groups, look what happens! I hope those folks are okay. Kandi and Todd must be relieved no one was killed!

Kandi has faced some traumatic events in her life and whatever decision she and Todd make about the OLG in East Point, she will continue to have her community’s support. I pray for the victims and hope they apprehend the coward quickly.

It’s not that it’s a bad neighborhood. It’s just that it is in a light industrial area and office parks. There is no real neighborhood to speak of. It’s right off of 285 and Camp Creek Parkway about 5 miles from the Atlanta Airport. Most of those establishments cater to the office park crowd so there’s not really any nightlife to speak of. And the opposite side of 285 and Camp Creek is a fairly high crime area. No one deserves to get shot going out to dinner or lunch. My husband actually went to OLG for lunch twice. I didn’t know that. His office park is about half a mile away. On a pretty day, he’ll walk down there to Marketplace to get lunch somewhere. He won’t be going back to OLG after the shooting. Not to say that it couldn’t happen somewhere else at another restaurant but I’d prefer he not take the chance. Nothing against Kandi. I hope this all works out for her. Surprised that she doesn’t have surveillance cameras inside or if she did that the police didn’t get a video clip of the shooter. Haven’t heard that the shooter has been caught yet. Glad everyone is going to be okay. Or at least as okay as they can be after being shot.
