I suppose it was bound to happen. Vanderpump Rules cast members Lala Kent and Katie Maloney are both from Utah, so it was only a matter of time before they crashed the filming of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
Filming for the new franchise has been going on for quite a few weeks now. One Tamara Tattles reader has already sent in a first hand account. In fact, I think that might have been the second report I have received. There hasn’t been to much to say about it other than they are filming and there are already divisions in the group.
Pump Rules – Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Crossover?
Lisa Barlow, Jen Shah, Heather Gay, Meredith Marks, Whitney Rose, Sara McArthur-Pierce and Angie Harrington are the new ladies. One of them is a friend, but I really haven’t paid enough attention to know who is whom. As I asked before, do we really need a Real Housewives of Salt Lake City? As I previously reported, Bravo is quietly testing women in Seattle, Palm Beach and San Francisco. It seems there is no end in sight for housewives. This means we have limited chances of any decent programming on Bravo. We all know Bravo fans do not watch the good shows.
Anyway, today Page Six is reporting that Lala Kent and Katie Maloney recently went to their homeland to film a scene with the ladies from the latest franchise. It was a short shoot with a few of the ladies in a boutique. Sounds like a ploy to get the younger viewership from Vanderpump Rules to give Real Housewives of Salt Lake City a try. It’s not a bad idea really.
It really would not bother me if Katie and Schwartz moved to Salt Lake City and joined the show. Perhaps they bought that house in the valley a little to fast? What are your thoughts?
I just want to see Lala on TV IDK about Katie, too mean !
Oh and I am sure they will need to be near Tom Tom
Agreed! I could care less about Katie. She is mean, self centered and body shaming aside she did look better thinner!
It does not surprise me one bit. We know the Comcast-NBCU suits love cross-pollination, so in that regard it makes sense to utilize two Pump Rules cast members who happen to have ties to Utah to drum up interest in RHOSLC.
So far, I’ve managed to maintain a Bravo-free TV diet for the past two weeks. I can’t guarantee how much longer it holds, but I feel like I’m finally starting to lose the strong appetite for Bravo shit that I used to have.
Atta Bpy. I highly recommend Work In Progress and The L Word Generation Q (if you can deal with LOTS of naked lesbians on the latter) both have their season finales tonight. They are on Showtime so you can binge ON DEMAND if you have it. They are each eight episodes long. WIP is only half an hour. I hope we get another season of that with full hour episodes.
Feels kind of forced. I wish they would film people that are actually friends.
I agree. Its all staged and arranged. The women all know the ‘game’ on these shows.
I don’t care if they are on Salt Lake City. I just wonder if that keeps them indebted to Vanderpump.
I’m super excited for a new hw franchise. I can’t stand Lala and Katie though. I gave up on VPR last year bc the bullying of James and Raquel and also I finally realized what a snake LVP is when she wouldn’t even listen to what Billie Lee had to say. She’s a fake ally and I can’t believe I loved her so much. Jax is a pos and so is his wife and pretty much the entire cast.
I would love to see Katie and Tom in Salt Lake City, but they would never go. She might, though I get the feeling that she left Utah to get away from the lifestyle. Tom would never leave behind his modeling and acting gigs and TomTom. He’s after fame.
This is great news, Salt lake peaked my interest but hearing about Lauren and Katie stopped that dead in the water.
I’ve been looking for reasons to quit Bravo now I’m just down to Top Chef and Below Deck(when I’m bored).
They are only going to be on ONE EPISODE.
One episode too many and if the new girls are friends with those two, I won’t be missing much ?.
They are not friends. It is a crossover to get a younger audience to tune in.
I always wish they did a RH of Fairfield county CT, a whole different type of population.
I grew up in Greenwich, CT. It’s an incredibly beautiful place with wealth to match! They have actually tried to pitch shows like that there but the neighborhoods will not allow it. It’s way too low brow for Fairfield County.
Or the Real Housewives of Farmington Valley, the other wealthy enclave. The CT wealthy are way less flash than the other markets though, I don’t know how well it would play.
I wonder if they will do the editing trick that they did when they transitioned from RHOBH into vanderpump rules? Remember when they went right from the housewives into SUR where Sheena was meeting up with whats her face about sleeping with her husband? I remember watching and wondering what the heck it was, but it was the beginning of Pump rules. Curious to see if they do something similar with these girls – tricky editing from one show right into the other to catch our interest….

I kind of think Bravo ought to cancel the existing cities one by one as they add new ones, first in, first out. OC and NYC can go since we have Dallas and Potomac, which aren’t totally stale yet.
no thanks on seeing more of lala or katie… i highly doubt schwartz would go far from his sandy, his real soulmate.
I can’t stand Lala, her gold digging and the bullshit she claims is feminism. But I have to admit I think that I would like to see the jet-set lifestyle she has with Randall. As far as new cities, I probably will tune in but after The Crazy, I can’t remember anything so it will be a real challenge to keep track of who is who on a new franchise. I still mix up Gina and Emily for heaven’s sake.
?????? to both of them. Get actual housewives luving in Salt Lake City. I’m so sick of the crossover. Both of them are mean girls. Don’t want to see either one of them.
I don’t see why you guys are freaking out over this. It is one scene meant to draw in the Pump Rules fans to watch RHOSLC. It will be two minutes on the screen of RHOSLC if that.
We just don’t want to give these people a platform anymore.
I for one am burnt out from these people.
Sundance Film Festival started today in Park City. Maybe the RHOSLC got to go and we will see it on the show. That would be fun!
I remember when Park City was a pretty nothing place. My college roommate married one of their ski patrol guys in 1961 & BYU held its PE ski classes there. It didn’t start to grow until Robert Redford moved there.
Sandavol must be spitting with jealousy!!! This season is not a good look for Tom or angry Ariana.
Is SPC an ‘aspirational’ place to be? I’ve literally never heard anyone say, “One day, I’ll escape to the bright lights of Salt Lake City, Utah.”
Even when I was there 60 years ago it was only 50% LDS (Mormon), & it is a thriving commercial city. Although the alcohol situation is a bit odd, there is a lively night life & folks do know how to have fun. The country is absolutely gorgeous, & attracts a lot a lot of wilderness devotees & active well-to-do retirees. Many cultural oddities, but one either acclimates, or ignores. There is a significant Native American population that was not well integrated when I was there. My late ex-father-in-law was an Episcopal missionary on a Ute reservation in the 1950’s & adopted a very premature baby there that had been rejected by her mother. It was quite a shock to his post-menopausal wife.
