RHOA Recap: A Whine of a Time

December 29, 2019 by tamaratattles 52 Comments

On tonight’s RHOA recap, we will discuss the first International brawling incident of the season! Nene Leakes “spiritual journey” will lead her to lay hands on more people, including production. It seems that everyone has conflict with someone on this trip. Namaste. Oddly, it seems that Eva and Marlo are back on good terms. How did that happen?

After the usual packing scenes, we get everyone to Toronto fairly quickly. Well, except Nene Leakes. She will be making her own appearance and is not arriving with the others. Marlo immediately loses her passport in the Toronto airport. That will be a nightmare. Tanya is really excited to show off Toronto. We are only on the bus to the hotel and I already need Tanya to stop talking. She’s very perky.

Something In The Buttermilk Ain’t Clean

It doesn’t take five minutes for Kenya to get messy. Cynthia noticed that Love B. Scott’s blog had the complete text of the note Nene sent Cynthia. That blogger is friends with Kenya Moore. ALLEGEDLY, according to my exclusive sources, Kenya got in trouble for leaking lots of details from the Toronto trip to that site. Kenya immediately accuses Nene of send the information. Nene doesn’t mess with that site. That is Kenya Moore’s little friend. Now Cynthia and Kandi think the whole note was fake.

Kenya, Kandi and Cynthia have a scene to discuss the triple date where Marc was such an ass. Kenya admits that she and Marc are in a very low place. Apparently, Todd and Marc when out to the club after that dinner and wandered in late. Kenya was disappointed he chose to go out instead of being at home with her and Brooklyn. Kandi was to happy with Todd going either.

RHOA RecapThe Rhythmically Challenged Go For Dance Lessons

Didn’t we already try to teach these women how to whine? I think it was on the trip on Kenya’s first or second season when she started the whole Gone With The Wind fabulous crap. Most of these women are hopeless in the dance department. The very pregnant Eva gives lots of critical feedback in a talking head. She wasn’t wrong. Kenya seems to have skipped the dance class after her sad conversation Kandi and Cynthia.

Nene finally arrives at the hotel and chats with Tanya in a lobby for a bit before going to her room. She tells Tanya about her life couch that is part of her spiritual journey.

Drinks On The Roof!

The ladies all gather on the rooftop for cocktails. It is there they hear that Nene has arrived at the hotel. No on is particularly excited about this news as things have been pretty mellow without her around.  Kenya hasn’t made it for drinks yet. Marlo feigns concern and wonders if she should go check on her. No one thinks that is a good idea.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE RHOA RECAPS!

Kenya finally shows up looking great. Porsha and Yovanna have decided to have an airing of grievances. Porsha starts. She is not happy with Eva. Eva made some slick comments about Porsha to Kandi recently. It had to do with why Eva didn’t go to Kenya’s Barbie Bash. One thing Eva said was that Porsha hasn’t even healed from her C-Section yet so she shouldn’t have the time to concern herself with how Eva decides to raise her children. Eva denies saying it. Why do these women deny things they say on camera? She also made a comment about all the blogs talking about Dennis cheating and how perhaps Eva should pull them up for Porsha so she would have some of her own business to mind.

Eva denies everything she said, so production played it over and over. Kandi says that when Eva gets upset, she can say mean things. Porsha is pissed that Eva is lying. Production shows more clips about how Eva has a history of denying her shade to the other women. Cynthia says that despite Eva occasionally running off at the mouth, she does believe Eva is a real friend to Porsha. Eva apologizes for hurting her feelings.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE RHOA RECAPS!

Cynthia brings up the fact that Kenya tried to spoil her “surprise engagement”that everyone knew about. Kenya blames her psychic powers for the tip off. That gets some stank face from Kandi who is the one who told Kenya that Mike was about to pop the question. Kandi tells Cynthia that she had told Kenya. Kenya loses her pageant cool and tells Kandi never to question her motivations regarding Cynthia. Cynthia is her ride or die. Kenya seems to be having a rough day being away from Brooklyn for the first time. She’s got a hair trigger tonight. Kenya says she would never do anything to ruin Cynthia’s big night. She would feel terrible if that had happened.

And production gives Nene Leakes her walk in cue. It’s awkward and the show ends there. The previews showed so much more! I kept waiting to get to the drama and it looks like that doesn’t happen until the next episode!

Next time, Dennis shows up, and some of the girls bungee off the side of the CN Tower. Presumably to get away from Nene.

Thanks for a great recap! I don’t think a lot of people understand how these shows are production driven. The cast is told the order to walk into scenes. Who will be late. If you are chosen to be late, you get a feeling that the storm is coming for you. You get defensive.

There are also a LOT OF PRODUCTION PEOPLE. It’s very unnatural.

In my younger years, I was on an episode of House Hunters. I learned so much about reality TV.

Kenya knows good and well that Nene didn’t send that to B Scott and she did, her demeanor said it all.

Kenya has that beautiful baby but she is really broken and miserable deep down inside and that speech to Cynthia was bogus because she was smirking and laughing when Kandi confronted her about spilling the beans to Cynthia. Her marriage fell apart and it’s showing in her spirit and actions. How could she be so happy and in such a great place and come back to the “Reality Show” you’ve been dying to get back on so bitter and angry?

The group dancing scene was fun and honestly Kenya wasn’t missed during it. The ladies had lots of fun and it was good to see. This cast needs some tweaking and I don’t know what happened with Drew Sidora but it would have been good to see her.

The ratings haven’t improved since Kenya’s return and show’s that her and Nene are both replaceable and the show would still go on.

Agreed that we can do without Kenya. Kenya does NOT Dance, or like to have fun. But she Loves to talk about the other ladies when the opportunity. (throw shade) She is just Messy, and it shows. Go and repair your marriage, it’s what you always wanted. Life is to short to worry about what she said over here, like middle school girls. Fix your life, and move to Brooklyn, NY with your man/husband, if that’s your man/husband. Stop those fake tears when someone ask you about Marc. You need to be crying when you’re putting down a Black Women for a pay check, white people do it enough. NeNe knows how to have fun more than Kenya any day of the week Team NeNe. Just saying!

Nene is fun? Nene is mean to everyone including her husband who she basically ignores him. She physically assaults her cast mates. She is dumb as a box of hair. Kenya is smart and beautiful and has a beautiful baby. She just needs to STOP TRYING TO PRODUCE HERSELF. Her acting skills are not up to par. She always seems inauthentic.

Shes not smart enough that if she wasn’t pretty, no one would know her. That’s why she will always be single. Shes a train wreck

I love Kenya too yet I see thru her facade. Considering her past ( abandoned by her mother at birth , accused of trying to seduce Apollo , being dragged by Porsha, defiled by Andy Cohen on every WWHL episode) her future doesn’t appear to bode well either. I appreciate the hot mess she is rather than Nene’s bullshit posturing for position season after season. To think she gets a paycheck after assaulting production baffles the mind.

Kenya is NOT single. And she doesn’t speak to me anymore. She’s quite smart. But sometimes smart people tend to cut off their noses to spite their face. She doesn’t always make the best choices for herself. And she alienates friends who try to support her.

I will always have love for THE REAL KENYA. But the Kenya on RHOA is very inauthentic. The real Kenya is a lovely woman inside and and out. She is hurt. She has troubles maintaining relationships. I relate to her a lot. I also understand her love for LGBT men,They have always been a safe place to fall for safe women. I am glad she has Brandon and Love B. Brandon will always be her safe place to fall. Everyone needs that.

Logically, your response is whack. How do you know she is not smart enough?Just because a person compliments another person’s looks does not me that person support the wrongness the other person is doing. Looks don’t get you well known. Duh? What a skewed worldview. There are just as many “not so beautiful” people who are “well know”, as there are “beautiful” people. And, some of them have darker souls than Kenya. And, one of them was just impeached.

I don’t even watch this shitshow anymore, but I’m pretty sure Marc, his live-in girlfriend and their kids (which was evidently news to Kenya and one supposed reason for the split. Even if she did know about his other family it would be awkward) don’t want Kenya and Brooklyn moving to New York. Regardless of how you feel about Kenya, I just don’t think that moving to Brooklyn, NY is a great option for anyone involved. Personally, like I said, I don’t even watch anymore because they all drive me nuts—especially Nene. And I’m not personally invested in any of them anymore, so anyone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong here… I’m just bored and found this comment didn’t make much sense given the situation as I understand it. \shrug/?

Yes because only white people listen to white music and only black people listen to black music.

Oh wait, I listen to lots of types of music…

      Let’s not have racist comments.

Tanya is a black Canadian. Perhaps that is the difference you think you see. And a place you should go.

Can white people not enjoy Prince or Beyonce? Can black people not enjoy, Mariah Carey or Ozzy Osborne?

Music is the International Language. Did you ever do The Time Warp? Learn all the words to Rappers Delight? Sing Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing? Or Stephanie Mills, Never Knew Love Like This Before? Back in the olden days, we all had fun in the clubs.

Tanya is allowed to like Journey without her racial affiliation being called out. Just like white people like Prince and Luther Vandross.

I know all of my examples are from the 80s but racism is literally getting WORSE under this president. People are allowed to like whatever songs they like.

I suggest you stop limiting yourself. I am not really into music that much because it effects me very deeply so it’s not something I want to hear while in the grocery store or cleaning my house unless I choose it.

I wish you had posted this earlier and I would have suggested you go sit in a church for a Christmas service. Could have been live changing. I go to Catholic Church in Europe. It’s astoundingly good. I am not Catholic. But I frequently beg a Catholic friend to pray for me.

I listen to everything from rap to Gregorian Chants. But I do not listen to music much. It’s too much of a sensory overload for me most of the time.

I could be wrong but based on her looks, I made the assumption that Tanya is biracial when she said her Mom is British and her Dad is Ghanaian.

I cosign with TT. We’re all entitled to like whatever music we like and not be ridiculed for it, no matter our race. Tanya could like whoever she wants. As far as Journey is concerned, Randy Jackson from American Idol was their bassist for a few years, so your white comment is even more unfortunate.

Check out Fishbone, Living Colour, Bad Brains and TV on the Radio. Those brothers ROCK!

Lastly Slash from Guns N Roses is considered one of the best guitarists in Rock history is biracial, but I believe he identifies as black……. In the vain of black Rock Gods, we can’t not mention Jimi Hendrix.

So one time I was in Canada possibly having great sex with a black Canadian whose roots are Jamaican. Afterward we were talking about the US and how it is different from Canada. I told him if he moved to the US with me he would be called “African-American” by some. He found that very confusing. “But I am neither African or American, I’m Canadian.” And I replied, “I know baby, I know. Americans just love to label everyone.”

I think of him when I see Tanya on the TV. And, um… OOOHHHHHHHHH CANADA. 🙂

Either the women are really raw this season or the camera crew has been great at capturing their underlying emotions. When Marlo was at the BAILEY-Q, I noticed the pain in her face while being read by Eva.

You could see that Kenya could barely contain her sadness and seemed to be on the verge of tears on the rooftop. I still can’t stand her though and hope no one bought her bullshit excuse for nearly ruining Mike & Cynthia’s moment. With friends like that……. Just saying.

There is a possibility Cynthia could have given the card to to the blogger, or she knows Kenya leaked. In my opinion, Cynthia always have a weak story line each season and that silly leaked to the blogger add a little bit more fuel to her smoldering fire. And Cynthia and Mike’s weak excuse to be upset at the surprised not a real surprise was so fake. I don’t think Kenya was trying to ruin the engagement surprise. I am like what surprise? Have not her and Mike talked openly about getting an engaged? Did he not let her family know they were planning on getting engaged. All Bravo production driven.

The filming crew is so shady. Cynthia is talking about needing a stretchy outfit because her butts been growing and the camera crew pans out to get a shot of her butt on camera. Then the Eva denials, and replaying her actually saying what she just denied saying was funny. Kenya’s a mess this season. The way she essentially took over Marlo’s event a couple weeks back was just wrong wrong wrong. Kinda funny to watch but if I were Marlo I damn sure would have been as angry. One thing though when Kenya talks about her man troubles I actually believe her and the feelings seem genuine. When Porsha talks about her issues with Dennis I start yawning I get so bored from all of the melodramatic acting she does. Is it me or has Kandi stepped up her game over the last two weeks? She’s really on point in her confessionals, and entertaining too.

I really don’t understand the hate for Kenya. She’s not going to give us the truth, so deal with it. It’s her life and reality TV ruins lives, so she can do or say whatever she wants to protect herself. I believe she loved Marc, tried to make it work, got hurt and it’s over. The end.

Cynthia’s a 50 yr old woman getting married for the 2nd or 3rd time. I don’t believe she was hurt because Kenya said she might be getting engaged. If she was hurt, then there is something wrong with her. I believe Cynthia knew she was getting engaged, this is all used for a storyline. I was embarrassed for Cynthia saying Mike was hurt or upset, whatever he said, I mean really? Find a real problem. I really liked Mike last week, now, he let production make him out to be a pussy, and Cynthia went along with it too. Blah!

I thought Eva was talking about Kenya with the ‘not worrying over your babies, she has her own baby to worry about’. Either way, she really should just stop about Porsha’s C-section and Kenya being highly insulted that she was too scared to bring her children to her party. Eva is wrong in both of these cases. So zip it !!

Agreed. Were I mike I probably would have felt like one of my friends, or most likely one of Cynthia’s friends betrayed a trust, a really important one. I mean as a man making that particular moment special can be an extremely important thing.

A lot of women grow up with complex expectations about the proposal, wedding, honeymoo, and married life, and it’s hard enough for guys to figure out a way to make it personal while making it a significant moment that meets her expectations, or at least strives to in a significant way right.

As a gay ForumDude that’s not me but I see it with my heterosexual male friends even as far out as asking for the blessing from the family leader to pursue marriage, and asking for their hand in marriage, it’s all part of the package and they want to make it super special, as special as they can, and god help them, though I love them, they frequently need a lot of help a lot of them, so when someone like that (Mike), and I get the sense that Mike had his daughter’s helping him there, has someone so seemingly casually attempt to detract from the moment like Kenya did that’s kind of a Richard move like you mentioned. I’m not kidding ladies I think a lot of you would be surprised at how absolutely adorably cute guys can be with their desire to it all right. TT we should a produce a show just for this.

And hey I like Kenya a lot. Not kidding I really like her, but she’s pulled two Richard moves so far this season, the other being the taking over of Marlo’s wig event. It was kind of funny when you consider her personality is such that it’s strong enough to think that’s ok so long as it was somewhat amusing with the band. It was a little funny I thought, but mostly it was disrespectful to Marlo who by all appearances is attempting to rehabilitate herself on the show. Whether it’s for show, or genuine I’m not sure, but she’s growing on me.

The other thing about that Marlo event moment is I know nothing about her source of income, and I suspect she was really hoping to launch something that might help support herself do that. And I sort of get that Kenya has a product, and pushed it hard, that she believes is complementary to Marlo’s wigs. I guess she has a point, but she erred in eclipsing the Marlo’s product at Marlo’s event.

I didn’t mean to offend people in real life, it’s a little different than reality. Like I said, I think Cynthia knew she was getting engaged and she and Mike used it as a storyline to be all hurt. Mike seems nice, like I said, but if he wanted a secret proposal he probably shouldn’t propose on a reality show or tell a Houswewife or or or… I could go on forever about this. But it’s NYE!

          The end.

I agree, Laila. Cynthia has pretty much been begging Mike for a marriage proposal, so it certainly shouldn’t be a surprise when he finally pops the question.

I’m sure Cynthia and Mike were in on production’s plan to turn the event into a marriage proposal. It’s possible the other cast members weren’t told about it in advance, so Cynthia could plausibly pretend to be upset when Kenya “spoiled” the non-surprise.

I don’t hate Kenya, but I feel sorry for her in a way. I see her as someone who’s chosen to prioritize fame as a B(ravo)-list celebrity and the hijinks required to maintain that over a happy personal life. But she’s an adult and can certainly make her own choices. If fame is what truly makes her happy, then good for her. Her saying that winning Miss USA was the happiest moment of her life was very telling.

I’m so cynical that I believe everyone there knew about the proposal, the cast, the friends, family and production. TT probably knows, maybe she will tell us someday.

Also, Cynthia already had her big storyline marrying Peter. I mean, she really stepped up and got a better man, which is great, but don’t act like a naive fiance that doesn’t know the ropes of proposal and reality TV is all I’m saying. But I am very happy for her. I am, I am! Just calling it like I see it.

Yeah and saying Miss USA had me like what? I always like to defend Kenya. I’m sure the happiest day of her life was having Brooklyn. I have no excuse for her saying this, a slip debating if it was marrying Marc or winning Miss USA maybe? I hope she will clarify at the reunion b’c that was very strange.

Kenya cries about her mom and rightfully so. However, she acts a lot like her mom and needs to stop.

I got the sense that Kenya’s mother wasn’t there for her, which left her devastated. IIRC she received far more support from her Aunt than her mother, but admittedly I don’t recall the actual details of their relationship.

I’m going off the assumption that her mother wasn’t in her life much when I state that I don’t understand the accusation that she acts a lot like her mom. Again I would need specifics to understand that I think, but absent mother does not appear to be a thing that Keny’s daughter is ever going to have to life with, to the point it may even be causing issues with her husband given the strength of feelings she seems to be displaying about his willingness to spend time with their child, which I don’t think is out of bounds, well at least what we seem to be seeing anyway.

I like Eva, I do, I can’t remember which lady said it, but I think it was Cynthia, but essentially it was something like she says angry stuff, ‘doesn’t remember’ the thing happening, but she still overall has her friend’s back. I totally see that about Eva. That happens with a lot of people, and she apologized so I give her a pass.

I’ll just quietly sit over here in the corner, and when my ain’t nobody replying to me time out is over I suspect I’ll probably move on.

        I should start my own.

Oh I will reply ForumDude, I love you!

I believe, not sure, so hope I am not giving false stories…

Kenya’s core of all her problems i believe is because her mom gave her up to her Grandmother. Kenya’s mom would never acknowledge her, like never! I even think there was an episode when Kenya went to her Mom’s house, but she wouldn’t open the door. So, I think since she was adopted in the family, Kenya would see her mom, but her mom wanted nothing to do with her. That would mess up someone big time.

I believe she talks to her dad, not sure, I recall she had him over once and they spoke.

And ForumDude, you are Fabulous, I would love to have tea with you at any time!

          Happy New year!
