Tonight is the season finale Married to Medicine recap. We’re going to need 100cc’s of Xanax to get through all the drama this episode will surely bring! To get yourself caught up click here. We begin with Toya planning her housewarming party. It will be Arabia Nights theme. There will be a fire eater, a snake charmer…Eugene’s $10,000 budget is going to bust at the seams. Toya did agree to get a $2,000 camel instead of a $4500 one, so maybe she did learn something? Her house is gorgeous so she wants to show it off. It may not have furniture yet but it deserves to be seen.
Reunited And It Feels So Good?
Contessa and Scott are at their house (not) watching the kids swim. They discuss Scott’s recent 180 degree turn on Contessa going back to school. Contessa is excited. Scott agrees to take the kids to see her more often in Nashville. Contessa wants a nanny to help Scott at home while she’s away. They seem to be in a good place, which makes me happy to see. Their little girls with their “Mermaid” bathing suits have me smiling so hard! They are a cute family.
Curtis and Jackie are home with construction workers and architects. Jackie and Curtis demolish a wall with the promise of new beginnings. To show Curtis how devoted she is to him, she tells him that she booked a trip to the South of France. The kicker: she has taken 10 business days off to spend with him. That means a lot to Curtis. With the swing of an ax, they demolish the past and resolve to stay committed to the future.
Making An Entrance…With A Camel?
It’s party night! Simone, Cecil, Buffie and David arrive together. In the car ride over, they discuss the Jackie situation. Buffie is still really hurt over Jackie exposing her fertility issues to a group of friends and strangers. Simone doesn’t think that Jackie understands how hurt Buffie still is. Toya makes her grand entrance: carried in by men with a camel by their side. Kari is there too! It’s good to see her. The rest of the ladies meander in after Toya’s big entrance. Mariah brings Lake to the party. Contessa finds it cowardly that Mariah always rolls in with her backup.
The guys all convene together. Damon gives a sweet speech about how proud he is of Eugene. He has knows Eugene for years, even prior to Eugene marrying Toya. They’ve been through a lot together so he is proud to see Eugene come out so strong. I love the guys and their friendship so, so much.
We Are Never Getting Back Together
Quad and Heavenly discuss Mariah. Quad says that Mariah “doctored the documents” that “prove” Mariah hasn’t done coke. She is adamant that she isn’t saying that she heard, she’s saying what she knows. Oof. These two will never reconcile. Like ever.
Speaking of reconciliation, Simone pulls Jackie aside for a talk. Simone tells Jackie that she isn’t happy with how she outed Buffie. Jackie may be outspoken about her infertility and pain, but Buffie isn’t there yet. Jackie wants to know why Simone won’t let this go. She says that she’s willing to talk to Buffie, so Simone goes to get her. But, Jackie isn’t happy that her friend Simone isn’t backing her up.
Two Story Closet Full Of Pain
Jackie sincerely apologizes to Buffie. Buffie starts crying, saying that she shut down when Jackie outed her pain. My God, Buffie is so raw. She’s truly, truly hurting. I do like Jackie but I don’t feel like she’s being the most empathetic person while Buffie breaks down. Simone takes Buffie to the bathroom. David comes to console her. She can’t stop crying.
She’s embarrassed and has to leave. Toya sees her but stops her from leaving. She wants to take her to the two story closet to cheer her up. Toya says it’s impossible to feel anything but happiness in the closet. All the ladies, minus Jackie, go to the closet. Jackie wants to take a break from the group. She’s too tired apologizing to these women.
Things Go From Bad To Worse
What happens next is something that made me want to jump through the TV to help Buffie. Buffie is having a true, raw breakdown. You can see that with every new person coming into the room, the more trapped Buffie feels. She looks cornered.
Contessa goes over to her, gets in her face, actually puts her hands on Buffie’s face and SCREAMS that everyone has been through shit so get yourself together. Screams like a drill sergeant. All Buffie hears is Contessa dismissing and demeaning her pain.
David comes to the rescue to get her the fuck out of there. Holy shit! I do see where Contessa (in her own head) meant well by trying to give a pep talk. That was not the time for a pep talk. Buffie needed comfort and empathy, not Contessa in her face. Poor Buffie. I just wanted to rescue her from the madness.
Mariah and Contessa get into it next. Mariah wants to know why Contessa asks people what’s wrong if she doesn’t want to really know the answer. Toya points out that how Contessa feels now is how Buffie felt with Contessa’s hands on her face. Mariah and Contessa start screaming at each other about miscarriages.
I think Mariah said that Contessa feels that someone having a miscarriage at six weeks isn’t a big deal? I hope that’s not what she said. Contessa wants to know why Mariah brings Lake in to say the things she’s too scared to say. Outside, Simone tries to tell Contessa how it went south. Contessa is willing to apologize for her wrongdoings. Mariah is talking to her sister and a friend about what happened. Mariah feels that this is a group of hypocrites. Eugene tells Toya how proud he is of her. The house was her vision, he’s just footing the bill. They try to end the night on a positive note.
Next week on the Married to Medicine reunion recap: Jackie and Simone are fighting (oh no!). Buffie and Heavenly go at it and Heavenly calls Buffie fat (oh no she didn’t!). Heavenly and Simone fight backstage when Simone implies Daddy did something untoward while out drinking with Cecil (stop it!). I can’t believe we’re almost at the end here! Thank you to everyone who reads and comments. I wish you all the most amazing holiday season, whatever holiday you celebrate.
I am deeply grateful to you all, especially our amazing Tamara. She has created this family-like site where we all come together over a shared love of Bravo.
