Married To Medicine Recap: Wife Swap

Married To Medicine RecapBY:  POPCULTUREKELLY

So glad y’all came back to read this Married To Medicine recap. I am still not well (PLEASE spam me on my twitter with any and all lower back remedies). But I will not let my beloved TT (or any of you!) down so here we go! We begin with the ladies grilling their men about their strip club escapades. (TT, feel free to purple pen the shit out of this with Atlanta strip club anecdotes that you have…heard. Yes, we shall go with “heard” lol).  Most are unbothered, except for our Heavenly. Though somehow she has managed to swallow her rage and replace it with thinly veiled disgust.

The gang gets in a van to do what they do best: mission trips. They have set up a free clinic to help those who otherwise cannot see a doctor. Contesssa says that this is where she is most fulfilled. Jackie and Eugene give sex education talks. Well, Jackie gives a scared straight sex ed talk, complete with one-eyed monster references. The girls she spoke to seemed unsure but not scared, so we’ll call it a success. This is the best part of their couple’s trips in my opinion. I love to see them shine. You really see how great they are at being doctors, also how much they truly care about people.

BaDonkaDonkDonkulus

After they get back to the resort, the couples (and Quad) head to the beach for yet another couples exercise. Well actually, this looks fun. The first one they do with their spouses. They attach a belt/bucket apparatus to the women who shake ping pong balls out by twerking and jumping around.

David had no interest in the game because he couldn’t take his eyes off of his wife and her twerking abilities. The next one was “wife swap” so all the ladies had to change partners, per who Simone picks. Heavenly ended up with Cecil (messy Simone with their history of the twitter feud). Simone pairs Mariah and Damon because of the whole accusing Damon of cheating. Mariah and Damon win. Everyone had fun with zero drama. I’m sure Simone was pleased.

That night they go to dinner to celebrate “dia de los muertos” or “the day of the dead”. Everyone, sans Damon and Cecil, have their faces painted to celebrate. They discuss a negative they want to leave behind with bringing home one positive. Jackie wants to leave fake friendships behind. Simone is positive that Buffie should stay far from NuJackie. Am I the only one confused by Jackie’s anger toward Buffie?

Home Isn’t Always Where The Heart Is

Back at home, Quad’s divorce is nearly finalized. She signs the papers which leaves only tax stuff and Dr. G’s signature to be had. We get a sad montage of how their marriage became toxic and imploded. Very sad. Jackie is starting to dip back into old working habits, leaving Curtis to wonder if she really has changed.

Scott and Contessa have a counseling appointment. As y’all know,I have team Contessa for a while. This part right here is where that may finally end.. During the session, she accuses Scott of turning their kids against her. Now, do I think Scott has been perfect? No. Do I think in his frustration he said things regarding Contessa that may not have been kind? Yes. But do I think he actively sought to turn his kids against their mother? HELL NO! These kids are not dumb. They see their mother gone most of the time. OF COURSE they will have resentment! Resentment they will form all on their own. Scott doesn’t need to force that on them.  That was some bullshit.

Next week on our Married To Medicine recap: Buffie has a spa day where she will most likely have words with Jackie. More counseling with Scott and Contessa. Thank you all for reading! See you in the comments. Hopefully also on Twitter where you can spam me with back pain relief! Click the link in my byline with any tips!

If my tweet doesn’t come up here’s what I said:

I have 3 herniated discs. What I’ve found works the best was facet injections and radio ablation on the lower back.

I see a physiatrist who was recommended to me by a spine surgeon. You want to see someone, though, to get a picture of what’s going on with your back (if it doesn’t get better with rest). I started with a neurologist who ordered x-rays and an MRI. I went on from there…

        Feel better.

Please don’t harvest from your body, donor bone is safer, my hubby had an spinal fusion in 2010 they harvested from his hips, he says it hurts more than the fusion, it’s been horrible. Prayers, I LOVED this episode, too funny the twerking lol

I second nerve ablation. It saved me. I’ll probably have to go back and have it re-done at some point, but I will, and gladly.

Thank you for the recap of M2M!

Another fellow New Englander!! I’m sorry you’ve been through so much. Long story short when I had my last child 2 1/2 years ago, my pelvis separated from my hips. It was hard to walk, couldn’t squat or been at the knees…it was tough. My son ended up having emergency surgery at 6 weeks old and then had lots of stomach issues the following 6 months, so I didn’t address the hip/pelvis issue and eventually it resolved. So I thought lol. Ever since then my back would go out randomly. So now that I can focus on myself a bit, after this last go around I have seen physical therapy and a chiropractor. All agree that my pelvis isn’t where it should be. I’m waiting to see a specialist, not sure the next course of action. But I will definitely keep you posted!! Are you on Twitter? And seriously you’re Kelly as well???? If that isn’t the coolest thing to happen today! ❤️❤️

I had 3 herniated discs in a row. They removed the middle one. I went from not walking for 6 months to walking across my hospital room only 6 hours post surgery. I had the best neurosurgeon in the world as far as I’m concerned. I still have back issues, but I’m walking!!!!?

I am a huge Contessa fan but I think she’s out of line here too. She’s completely downplaying the amount of work and effort it takes a partner to handle three kids, the household, and a full time job. She’s acting quite entitled about it and I’ve never heard her say thank you to him or show any appreciation. Yes he could do a better job he’s not perfect. But I’d be resentful as fuck if my husband left town for a year and I was home solo with my two kids. And on top of it entitlement and zero appreciation? Not happening. I also don’t like that they keep making it about her career and not the distance. I get the feeling that he absolutely does support her career but is struggling with the impact the distance has on the entire family unit. She’s completely in denial of how this is affecting her family. When you have kids you have to make sacrifices. We’ve all done it. And one of those sacrifices for many of us career driven women is to not take the best job or the best school or the long work trip. Suck it up buttercup.

I agree as well, but I also understand her resentment when she supported him when he just decided to up and change careers or even make the call that they weren’t moving anymore once they settled in Atlanta. Now she should’ve spoken up about the resentment she felt THEN, but I think it’s a build up over time. Not just with Nashville.

Absolutely. I think the underlying issue is that she doesn’t feel that her wants and needs are as much as priority as his. Hopefully they can communicate better and work through it

My favorite part of their couples trip is always their mission trips . I remember their mission trip whilst in Barbados and Dr Eugene’s blood pressure caused the greatest alarm ! On a different Bravo reality show Simone’s messy pairings of Damon with Mariah and Quad with Aydin would have resulted in an explosive row , but the Husband’s chilled vibes and genuine friendships seems to impact positively on the wives . I’m still undecided whether Dave and Buffie, as nice a couple as they are, are a good fit or interesting enough to return. Scott and Contessa should leave M2M to try and work on their marriage out of the spotlight, although I suspect Contessa loves the fame and might possibly reappear on Marriage Bootcamp.

Lol! Yes, I like them as a couple and Dave is as chilled as the other husbands. Buffie started the season almost like Deshawn Snow , ( ex RHOA) bragging about her wealth and pretentious functions yet invited her friend, Joseline Hernandez , to be messy. Buffie has calmed down a bit and received lots of sympathy after Jackie was , rightly so, admonished for revealing Buffie’s infertility issues , but I’m still uncertain whether, as a couple, they will have the chemistry to bond with the other couples, which is a unique , enjoyable feature on this show .

M2M has the best trips! I love seeing their professional side and the interaction between the couples is entertaining. I was slow to warm to Buffie but I’m a fan. She and her hubs are a great addition.

Jackie is so out of touch. She has no self awareness and cannot relate to anyone. In this day and age, a licensed OB/GYN that claims to be about supporting women, that tells young women to stay away from the “one eyed monster “ – she is an embarrassment.

Of course the kids see the absence. But, I think the husband can present the wife’s absence as 1. Oh she’s never here! Or 2. Mommy loves us all, but she is working to get a job that she loves and help provide for us. It’s how he deals with it in front of the kids that can sway them.

Kelly, I’ve had back paint for 48 years. I had some good relief from chiropractic treatment, acupuncture and yoga. But the MIRACLE was an injection of Toradol. After the weird shit I tried, I couldn’t believe I’ve never had it. It is a SUPER inflammatory and the injection works immediately and if you have a sensitive stomach, it bypasses that problem.

Re: Scott and Contessa … In real life, I would HOPE that husband and wife would start this conversation WAY before any JOINT decision were made. IF they decided one would leave, I would HOPE the two of them had a talk with the kids. Gotten some housekeeping and/or childcare help. Because the kids are losing all control, it would be NICE if they could have a bit of inclusion in choosing a childcare person.

Simone … sometimes she pisses me off. Other times she KILLS me. “Thank you black people and Dave…” I cracked up with that. Because she wasn’t being shady.

I am so looking forward to next week when Quad gets together with Cynthia Bailey to celebrate her single status. I REALLY HOPE that is Bravo’s way of moving Quad to RHOA. Quad and Kenya (Quadya) united against NeNe and Marlo… BRING IT ON! If we can’t have Kary back, on M2M. I NOW cast my vote for Buffie. I was very put off by her treatment of Toya, but now that I have seen her more, that REEKS of production. Buffie may even be a good fit for RHOA. If NeNe stays, we need a strong woman to replace Eva, who I just don’t see staying.

Kelly, the severity of your back pain sounds awful. I can’t believe you are even able to recap. This is going to sound dumb as I know you probably need a lot more than this, but I take Nature’s Bounty Turmeric 1000mg every day for my aches and pains and it really makes a difference. It won’t fix your issue, but it might slightly ease it. It’s a natural anti-inflammatory.
