Are you ready for your post Thanksgiving Married to Medicine recap? I hope each and every one of you had your bellies (and hearts) full on Turkey day. No turkey in sight in glorious Mexico, we begin with the messy bootz questions from Simone. Now, is it me or does this seem out of sequence? Last week we had Contessa and Scott fighting over a question. With seemingly the same questions, everyone is composed. Oh, okay so this was a lead in. Now Simone drops the question that got Scott and Contessa hot and bothered, “Would you ask your spouse if you were to change careers?” Scott says he supported his wife but it was complicated with the children. Contessa gets up and leaves. End scene. That was a weird way to begin the episode. Totally threw me off.
Contesssa Reaches Her Breaking Point
Buffie gets up to follow Contessa. Contessa cries to Buffie that Scott never brought the kids to Nashville when she was there. In her talking head, she tells us that she left the Navy for Scott. After having their first child, Scott felt moving around was too disruptive to their family. She quit the Navy to ensure that the family had stability. She clearly has bottled up resentment towards that. Buffie points out that support means different things to different people. Scott probably thinks he’s supporting Contessa by holding things down at home with the kids. Which is absolutely what Scott thinks.
At the table, Scott tells the group that he wanted Contessa to stay in Atlanta and do the program. Quad asked Scott if he was giving extra support to Contessa when she needed it. He doesn’t really answer, which means no. David, Buffie’s husband, says that if they don’t fix their communication issues, the prognosis isn’t good. How sad to see two people on completely different pages in their marriage.
Marry, Shag, Choke a Stripper
The gang gets ready for dinner. Can we take a moment to appreciate how freakin’ beautiful Buffie is? She has made a place in this cold, black, PCK heart. The couples are splitting up for the evening. The men are going to dinner and a strip club, the ladies to dinner on the beach. I absolutely love the husbands, especially Eugene. I may have a slight crush (sorry Toya!). He’s so cute, kind and affable. Jackie and Buffie have a quick moment before the ladies have dinner. Jackie apologizes to Buffie which was…weird. It was…cordial. Not warm moment at all. Both seem to be fine with that.
Simone has set up a “living single” bonfire to show support for Quad. Mariah says that if it’s based off the show, she would be Queen Latifah. Quad would be Marla Gibbs from 227, peering out the window! That made me laugh. Heavenly gives Quad a crown. The ladies play shag, marry or kill-which Heavenly changes to choke. The biggest takeaway (for me) was that both Jackie and Contessa would marry Will Smith, while Heavenly would marry Jesus. Lol. Quad just wants a well endowed man. It’s a tame evening in comparison to their men.
Bad Nudes Travels Fast
Meanwhile, the guys head to the strip club. Revenge of the sip and paint is ready to commence! As Curtis astutely pointed out, there are ladies with no clothes on in the club. Oh no Daddy! A stripper comes over to give him a lap dance. She offers him a private show! Daddy turns her down, yet she persists. I am feeling a certain way about Daddy being in this position right now. I am not usually one for violence but I’m about ready to slap a stripper. GET OFF DADDY DAMN IT!
The next morning is a rough one for our guys. They are hungover and tired after getting back to their rooms around 2:30am. Heavenly wants to know where they were. Daddy tells her they were at a strip club. Heavenly is PISSED. She wants details. Did he see nipples? He says he doesn’t know. He says it’s not cheating. Daddy tells Heavenly that she did the same thing with the sip and paint. He says that he treats Heavenly like a queen, he doesn’t want her upset with him. Heavenly can’t hear anymore so she leaves.
She goes to see Jackie and Simone, who are preparing bags for a mission they are doing. Heavenly is clearly upset but won’t express how she feels. Heavenly REALLY doesn’t like anyone’s ass in Damon’s face. Like, REALLY doesn’t like it. I can’t imagine anyone loving their husband’s going to a strip club, but this seems to effect Heavenly deeply.
Next week’s Married to Medicine recap: The couples do a wife swap. They dress up in day of the dead makeup and garb. Quad’s divorce might actually get finalized. Scott and Contessa do therapy. THANK YOU ALL for reading and for your truly kind comments, messages and well wishes. I’m still not 100% but thanks to my amazing husband and kids, I’m doing alright. They’ve all stepped up and helped with our toddler which has been everything. Many others have it much worse so no complaints here! I’ve read every comment and am slowly replying, so bear with me please. Love you all, can’t wait to discuss tonight’s episode further!
