Welcome back to your favorite Married To Medicine recap! I’m so sorry it’s a day late but yesterday was my birthday. I was given a VERY surprising surprise party that lasted well past recap time. Hopefully these ladies have the medicine to cure this post-party hangover! We begin with the ladies waking up from the big to-do from last week. Heavenly is firmly #teamQuad. Everyone else is firmly #teamtootoxictofuckwith. Simone does have regrets about not defending Mariah more as she has never witnessed Mariah do drugs. Jackie is the same but again, no one wants to get involved.
Can’t Have It All
Scott goes to Cecil for some man time. He says he is jealous of Cecil’s boom boom room, but I really think he’s jealous that Cecil and Simone worked through their issues. Scott is feeling resentment from Contessa for withdrawing from her Public Health program. Cecil suggests counseling. Meanwhile, Contessa explains to Jackie that she went out of state because it was cheaper. Plus it had a one year program instead of two. She still feels like she could have made it work. Jackie wants Contessa to realize that she can be an alpha woman but something has to give. She can’t be the best mom, wife, and doctor. Something has to give.
Perched On The Porch
Mariah and Toya have a talk on the porch. Mariah thinks Quad went too far with the drug accusations. My opinion on this is that BOTH have gone too far. Mariah accuses Quad of adultery and using Dr. G for his money. Quad accuses Mariah of using drugs. They both have gone too far but this has such a deep, dark past that it’s almost too dark for this show. There is a seething hatred from both that is scary, raw and real.
Masked and Unmasked
The ladies get ready for Jackie’s latest gimmick: a masked dinner. This is some deep shit, Jackie.. Toya isn’t buying it. She’s not exposing herself to anyone tonight. Producers wanted Toya to stir things up so she mentions “coke”. And we’re off! Simone tells Mariah straight up that she’s disgusted about this whole thing with her and Quad. Simone just wants it to stop. Quad and Simone end up in the bathroom. Simone states that she never saw Mariah take drugs. Quad insists that she, in fact, did.
At the table, Toya tries to get Jackie to read Mariah’s test results. Jackie refuses. She will not step too deep in this muck. Mariah is upset that Jackie won’t read the results to exonerate her. She goes to bus, dinner over. Y’all hate on Contessa, but my girl was the only one smart enough to get the food to go!
Heaven Help Them
Before they head home, Jackie has arranged a visit to Second African Baptist Church. It’s steeped in history, absolutely beautiful. It was built by slaves in order to help free other slaves. It’s called “The Church of Freedom”. Martin Luther King spoke there. It’s where the Civil Rights movement began. I’m not crying, you are! The ladies all take turns stating what they are grateful for. It was nice to see their humility and vulnerability in such a beautiful place. They all leave Savannah feeling in a better place.
Alaura Is All Of Us
Heavenly’s daughter Alaura is a HouseChild Unicorn. She is mature, kind, beautiful and can read her mother like no other. She gives back to Heavenly all that she dishes out. I cannot do it justice through a recap. She is just awesome. Heavenly has done something really, really right with Alaura.
Ayden, Mariah, Toya and Eugene go out for a couples dinner. They rehash Savannah and how Mariah feels that a lot of the women side with Quad. Eugene cannot believe that Jackie didn’t open the drug test results. He feels that being read by a doctor, Jackie could have exonerated her. Mariah thinks it’s Jackie being messy. Eugene says that these results are accurate. Eugene thinks that Jackie wouldn’t look because Jackie isn’t on Mariah’s “team”. Mariah will keep Jackie at arm’s length.
On next week’s Married To Medicine recap: Jackie and Curtis’s home renovation begins; Contessa’s dad comes to visit so she has to shade Scott; Quad has a book launch that Toya and Simone walk out of. Thank you all for reading! I read every single comment. I’m so sorry I wasn’t active this week as the zoo is just now really getting over the great mono plague of 2019. I will see you all there. Can’t wait to see what you think of this week’s episode!
