Mike “The Situation” Is Free!

September 12, 2019 by tamaratattles 30 Comments

Mike The StiichSometimes people are reformed by a bit of jail time. With Mike Sorrentino, he seemed to have cleaned up his act well ahead of his jail time.

The Sitch has been in jail for tax evasion since January. Today he was released. I admit I have quietly been watching all of the Jersey Shore shows since the beginning of time. I am happy that he did his time and is back with his wife.

They released a joint statement that said,

“We are elated to finally close this chapter of our life. Thank you to our family, friends and fans for the continuous love and support during this time, it brought us so much peace and comfort. We look forward to continuing our life as husband and wife and working on baby situations!”

Happy procreating, Sitch!

During their original run, the Jersey Shore cast looked like a giant pile of fuck-ups. Yet since then Snooki actually became a responsible adult, Pauly D became a real DJ with real gigs here in Vegasland, and apparently at least a couple of the others have also grown up for real. Hopefully, they can help “The Situation” clean up his situation so this doesn’t happen again.

Oddly, Mike is the most respectable and mature and sober one at the bunch and it happened BEFORE he went to jail.

The tax man is scary. And the reality folks often neglect getting a good accountant. Hell, I have changed mine a million times because they don’t seem to understand ad revenue based income. They were kids with lots of money and he relied on his brother to deal with all the tax shit. TAXES ARE SCARY AS FUCK when you don’t work for an employer who does all of that for you.

Mike got sober, found Jesus and turned his life around. The other reality show felons had no remorse, felt put upon and play the victim. Mike was like, “In the end, it was my responsibility to do this and I put my faith in the wrong people.” I didn’t want Mike to go in and do anytime.

Meanwhile, my quarterly taxes are due and I have no faith in any of my tax attorneys and just hope I am doing this right.

So scary I am lucky I am employed and live in Ireland so I don’t have to worry about those things!! I did have to years ago and I hated every minute of it made me want to just be enployed!! I definitely think that’s what happened here just earning so much and not knowing how to manage it in any way especially tax wise!! I felt so sorry for him before he went in and watching him on the show sober he did so well! I’m so happy he’s out and he really did take full responsibility!! I expect baby news soon ?

Best of luck with your Taxes TT I’m sure you will be fine xx

Mike is so funny. I love how he makes fun of himself when he runs from Pauly hitting the siren on his megaphone. Mike jokes about his eating. He has turned into a really good guy. I still laugh out loud watching Mike. I am glad he is staying positive, and is giving back to people. He returns to his sober living and helps people who are struggling addictions.

100% I also loved when him and Vinny had that “inspirational quote” contest like 2-3 years back. This is the best MTV reality show. I love how they all truly love and care about each other.

A couple weeks ago, some of The Jersey Shore crew went to Washington DC to petition for the Situation’s early release. They were supposed to protest in front of the White House, but they were in front of the Treasury Building. It was hilarious!

I’m glad he cleaned himself up before he went in to serve his time. I wish he and his family the best now that he’s out.

I watched the original Jersey Shore and my only ugh about it was most if not all of them were not from Jersey, Jersey girl here! Honestly they didn’t do much that a lot of people their age weren’t doing just not with a camera crew and tons of money. Mike really took a hard look at his life and turned it around. Snooki is now a business owner and mother of 3 even Jenni is doing good raising awareness for disabled children as her son is developmentally slow. Pauly D is still crazy fun but making a name for himself as a solid DJ. No clue what Vinnie is up to and he was a favorite of mine.

Were ANY of the actually from Jersey?? I thought it was all NY-mostly Staten Island. It seems like a small thing but it annoyed me at the beginning too! Now I’m so used to all these shows being contrived that I don’t think about it.

Two years after my dad died at 50, mom was still reeling and not paying attention to details. Dad had his own business, and the tax accountant was a ditz. She owed back taxes and she wanted to fight it.
At one point, the IRS rep said to my still grieving mom, “not even God can help you now.”
        What a dick.
She paid and it nearly broke her financially. I hate those fuckers.

Yay! He has the opportunity to be with his baby to be part of all of the joys and landmarks. And poopy diapers.

I understand this is a different court system, etc. But Mike could have been outside making money instead of inside costing US money. Living a productive and contrite life, setting a good example. While TRav pays a paltry $500, in his world, the price of a vending machine tampon to many of us. I wish the feds or the state of SC would investigate. The good ol’ boys are the equivalent of a mob. There surely are instances of racketeering, bribery, extortion, etc. going on. I wish Dawn had Gloria Allred. But even she is no match for the Deep (Pockets) South. I hope when Pappy Rav dies, someone COMES for Thomas. Just a feeling … not sure the rest of the GOB gang would back him.

Jersey Shore is my guilty pleasure. Although, I got over the guilt part a long time ago. Now I am just a fan. 🙂 Anyway, I love this show and enjoy the people on it. I am so happy Mike is done with all of this and can move on with his life. He really has changed a lot since the original Jersey Shore years. I couldn’t stand him and now he is so fun to watch.

I’m so happy for him, that he’s got this behind him. I have watched Jersey Shore since the beginning. Mike definitely turned his life around and Lauren seems to truly love him & him love her as well…a completely different Mike from fist bumping & grinding on grenades at Karma. I enjoy seeing them all doing adulthood now…except Angelina. I was glad Deena replaced her yrs ago & wish that Angelina would go away now. Love all the cast but her and I love that they are truly friends, look out for one another, and really seem closer than some families I know.

I always had a soft spot for Mike and i’m glad he’s out. He took his punishment like a man, didn’t whine or complain and maintained a sense of humor. I’m glad he’s sorted himself out and I wish him and Lorens all the best.

I’ve also been watching Jersey shore from the beginning, it’s the only one my husband watches with me! Mike has really turned his life around and took full responsibility for his mistakes (most of it was naivety and his brother). In the UK he wouldn’t have gotten prison time given the circumstances, likely a suspended sentence and probation with some kind of community service element. It seemed a shame that he’d paid what was owed, learned his lesson, genuinely turned his life around only to have to go to prison. He’s strong but for others who’ve made changes it could’ve led them back down a bad path. If only Ronnie could sort himself out in the same way. Who would’ve thought it big daddy sitch, a role model!

Wow! I was just thinking to myself yesterday, “I wish T would do some recaps on Jersey Shore.” And this morning I open this up to see you are quietly watching and have been since day one. Now THIS show would be great to recap – so much to work with! I’m over Bravo and the shit-shows they have now created.

Anyway, so happy for Mike to finally be free! He did his time, seems to have learned his lesson and is an inspiration to others that you can certainly change your ways!

Glad to read this good news. I haven’t watched in a long time but it’s one of my friend’s favorite show and she actually got to go to a dinner with Pauly D and I thought she was going to pass out lol. She’s old enough to be his mom but she is obsessed with the cast because she’s originally from Jersey. I’m so glad that they grew up to be decent humans and very happy for the baby situation. My friend is probably going to throw a situation party lol! I need to call her…
