Sonja Morgan And Dorinda Medley Make Transphobic Remarks at New York Fashion Week

September 10, 2019 by tamaratattles 94 Comments

I’ve kind of been ignoring New York Fashion Week. The RHOBH are there to support Kyle Richards in her resort wear premiere with a designer. But the big story is that the RHONY was also filming at a Garo Sparo show.  Garo Sparo is an up and coming designer from Project runway.

Sonja and Dorinda, who is it important to point out KNEW THEY WERE BEING FILMED, had no problem making inappropriate comments about drag queen Miz Cracker and transgender model  Yasmine Petty.

Both made comments about the two of the models in the Gary Sparo show being male. Dorinda said “With a body like that, it’s a guy.” I mean, I suppose that is not the worst thing in the world to say about Atlanta homegirl, Miz Cracker, but Jasmine is transgender so that is particularly offensive,

“I was really excited to do the fashion show for Garo Sparo for New York Fashion Week because he was using models of diversity,” Petty told Page Six Style after the show.

See the clip below. Or not. I had to remove it because it was starting the video very loudly each time I commented.

I loved Garo on Project Runway. He also has a glove line that’s awesome. I used to like Ramona and Dorinda. Can’t stand either of them anymore. Ramona always makes the most inappropriate comments & thinks everyone should just accept them. Dorinda thinks she’s a badass. I’d love to see both of them pull that shit in certain parts of Philly ?.

I can’t believe Chris March died!! I forgot he’d fallen and was in bad health. I really liked him, he had a sweetness but he was also dry and witty at the same time. I love that.

“In this week’s episode of ‘Bravolebrities Behaving Badly’, enjoy the transphobia! Since we’re already piling on the misogyny across our shows and adding extra misogyny to RHOC, it’s time to ratchet up the ratchet shit on RHONY!”

But really, WTF??!! For all Sonja’s talk of “loving the gays”, I’m not feeling the love here. Both she and Dorinda know better.

So, so sorry. But get the fuck over it. I don’t care what you say about Caitlin Jenner, fka (formerly known as)
Bruce. You can’t ignore the hands OR THE FEET. True female feet (even the bad ones) do not look like male ones. EVEN with a pedi and polish. EVEN in high heels. EVEN with hormones pumped through their body. Every time I’m in a bar/nightclub/out, and look at the floor between the stalls, I know exactly who it is next to me. To deny that fact is to be in denial, period. It doesn’t mean we are homophobic anti transgender, or any other label YOU want to give ME/US. It’s a fact, Jack. TRANS can try (just like others) to be the best they can be. Some things won’t work out. I comment on fucking “regular” women who have bad hair, bad dress, or are too fucking fat for the outfit they have on. I’m not giving up my criticism, comments, or laughs- for trans, or any others. OVER IT. Move on. Like the gays, trans I know are super verbal/critical of women- my straight friends. MY dress, etc., has been chided up one side and down the other by LGBTQ “friends” that I never asked an opinion. I’m still standing, and as stated, AM OVER IT DRAG QUEEN, TRANSGENDER or whatever else it/you are. Live as you like. As will I.

Kkkbella, I guarantee if you see my feet, in the stall next to you in amazing shoes, l you will already hate me.

WOW. What a cruel world we live in. And who does this “. Every time I’m in a bar/nightclub/out, and look at the floor between the stalls, I know exactly who it is next to me”?

Who cares who is peeing next to you?

I do not believe for a moment you have gay friends let alone trans friends. You have some issues you need to deal with. Hopefully, you are old as fuck and theses thoughts will die along with you. Then again, I thought that about racism, and yet, still here we are, ‘

Honestly, if it were not for gay men, my life would not be worth living. Gay men have gotten me through many a rough patch, And whether or not they are transgender is irrelevant,

You don’t look at the feet next to you when you’re in a stall? I guess the subscribers here are just better than me. Like you don’t get out of the stall and LOOK around, then at the mirror, checking the lipstick, while looking side eye to your contemporaries. (Liars) Not that I need to justify my experiences to anyone here, but I have 2 gay uncles,( one whom has had aids for over 20 years- so again, fuck off) numerous new friends ( our area has become a destination, so diversity has come) and I can only claim my direct transgender experience is from 2 individuals who work as checkers in my g store. I see them everyday; we are social friends now. They have been to our house, etc. That said:
I think all of you miss the point: I am more incorporating of all of humanity than you are. No one gets special treatment. No one gets a pass. I have already achieved equality. Be who you are, but don’t expect to escape criticism, or statements of truth. That includes my truth- that men’s feet, even as trans, can’t be as attractive as mine. ( I have other physical issues as a born woman- where I’m sure there are criticisms, as stated in original post) That’s not phobic- it’s commentary on appearance- like judgment on fashion, or art. Go ahead and hate me, wish me dead. You then, entirely miss truly incorporating the LGBTQ to the society to which you aspire, and miss that we are entitled to judge and criticize, without, at the same time, wishing an entire population exterminated. Please understand the difference. Visit Europe- you may get what I’m saying.

I also agree that we can all coexist peacefully without tiptoeing around every single word used in civilized conversations. Kkbella has a valid point.

Ok, that is my question. Why? Why does it upset you?

Human kindness is free. Why is being kind so difficult? Ignore them if they bother you.

Ask yourself how you would feel if you were being judged in the same way.

I have a slew of gay males friends some of which have been know to dress up occasionally. I think it’s my southern accent, big hair and makeup that attracts them to me. I am equally attracted to them and consider them some of my best friends on this earth because we understand one another. We talk about everything from their beliefs on homosexuality as it relates to the Bible to who got voted off the “bachelorette” on Unreal. That being said anyone who has a gay/transgender friend knows they will not hesitate to cut a bitch! If you say otherwise your full of shit, you really don’t know that person or they are the most unique gay/transgender on the earth!

They were laughing and seemingly making fun of the models so while you may not be offended can you see how others are?
One of the models heard the two saying those things and laughing.Maybe both models did but I only remember one of them saying that.

Why are they making fun of their appearances? They get pissed if someone tells them they drink too much even if someone is saying it as a caring friend. But they think it is okay to do what they were doing?

One thing I don’t understand is why are you offended that people are offended? If it doesn’t bother you then that’s fine. There is no need to judge others feelings and experiences; read the post, don’t read, comment, don’t comment. It doesn’t matter at the end of the day.

But what matters is the two “housewives” put themselves out there to the public, therefore held to a higher standard, and Sonja is vocal about being an ally when in reality she isn’t. That is hurtful to people.

We do not know their struggles, which I am sure are plenty being a transgender person. Even if we feel we have struggled “more” it isnt a competition.

I think it will do everyone good to practice compassion and to have empathy for others. You do not need to agree or be offended by what the said but you can choose to be kind to those to affects.

Have a great rest of your day everyone and apologies for such a long reply!

Unless your own life is too miserable to focus on, in which case I feel sad for you. People living their own lives, not doing anything to bother you, have the right to be left alone and also have the right to be happy and joyful. GOOD FOR THEM living life to the fullest. I hope none of them ever bother to look in your direction, and if they do, I hope they have the sense to look away from that bad energy.

It’s beyond someone stating that someone who’s trans would bother them; it’s literally judging who may or may not be trans. I just can’t wrap my brain around this. Why, how would someone think of this???? I mean, I’ve thought “oh those are cute shoes” if I happen to notice the feet beside me, but this…????

Educate me. How are my comments shallow? I’m not allowed to have opinions on the appearance of any individual? I’m not allowed to say that my female appearance is better than another? ( like that doesn’t happen?) Be trans, gay, bi, confused. But don’t expect to exist without comments or criticism- I spend weeks in Italy every year- the finocchio comments are standard. It’s not like it’s a thing- it’s part of culture. Even with an eye roll and laugh. Americans are over cooked. I’m healthy as possible. What really bugs me about a lot of the negative comments and judging of others based on looks is it causes people who have yet to love themselves for who they are to have further body image issues.
I am a curvy woman and proud of it but I lived in an area where it was less common and when I moved to south Texas where a majority of the population is Hispanic and curvy and full figured it was refreshing to see women wear clothes that showed off their curves.
People who sit there and judge others for not having perfectly fitting clothes obviously has never had to try to find clothes that show off your curves but also hide your non flat stomach that comes with being full figured. Annoys the crap out of me how others judge each other instead of uplifting each other based on shallow looks.

Just plain loud, rude and awful. No idea if it’s adult beverage, playing to the cameras, impulse control and/or egotistical self-importance that leads to this behavior. So much work goes into the artistry of these shows. Don’t be disrespectful. Don’t be disruptive.

People, let’s stop caring so much when others criticize us. We are all (probably) too old for that. I am comfortable in who I am and what I look like and I hope you are too. I didn’t mean to cause such a racket in my replies. I live in a small town in Kentucky and I am surrounded by racist old people every day. So I am on the defense every day because I want to be louder than those other voices. Maybe if you all know I have two little kids and I want them to question things people say. I’m not an asshole, nor should I “shove it”. I guess I am just trying to figure it out with my grown up panties on.

“True female feet”. You can’t argue with stupid.

I’m feeling like there’s a few people on here that have more than one username and continue to spew the hate and anger. I mean, to think that there are this many people who either can’t or won’t educate themselves and evolve is even more frightening.

We’ve all had bad days and some of us have taken our anger out on here (myself included). I can usually write it off as a byproduct of the state of our union’s climate and/or hormonal outbursts. But, this targeted, seething anger and hurtful hate speech is beyond having a difference of opinion. And the fact that it’s not unanimously opposed is scary as fuck. I’m not just referring to this particular post either. However, I think kkbella has taken the cake today. (Also starts comment with “So, so sorry”— Clearly NOT SORRY.

Makes me sad. And even though I haven’t been to the clubs in decades, makes me think I need a pedicure to pee. W the actual F?

The checking out who is next to you in a bathroom stall thing is just a paranoid “know your surroundings” thing. If you spend time in a big city, you’re always aware of who is around you– on the train, sidewalk whatever.
There was an episode of X-files years ago where Scully is in a public restroom and cats start coming out of the toilets. It perhaps sparked an irrational fear of public restrooms. I get in and out of a public restroom minutes before my bladder busts because of that. I suppose rats would be worse…. Or maybe snakes.

Right? Bigger things to deal with than foot judging.

My rooster, Julio, is trying to lay an egg and has been clucking really loudly all night. Like, wake the dogs 13 acres away loud.

Should I egg-shame him? Judge his feathers?

Maybe he just identifies as a rooster. Don’t judge unless you’ve seen the rooster’s feet. But make sure that you’re just peeking from the next coop over.

kkbella really put her foot in her mouth, literally. It’s all about our feet now. Wow!!

I have small feet, some have large feet. Stop staring at our feet in a stall !! It’s invasive and strange.

She was really going at people’s throats, I mean feet. lol

It seemed like she was enjoying riling people up and attacking commenters here.

A lot of other hostile, strange comments here tonight. Is the moon full? Is it shaped like a foot?

I can’t remember ever thinking about other people’s feet. Ever!!

Your comment about never thinking about other people’s feet reminded me of an old friend of mine who had a foot fetish (actually a toe fetish) and was completely proud of it. I remember once he told me “I met this guy and I think I’m in love! He has beautiful toes!”

Whenever I would go out on a date, he would ask me “did you see his feet?? What were his toes like??” I responded “It was dinner, I didn’t see his toes.” Like you, feet are probably one of the last things I’d notice about someone!

??? to the toe fetish. Our family is quite adept at foot shaming each other. Ugly big toe runs in husband’s family and both kids have them.
No DNA test required for paternity there.
I know kkbella isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I have a soft spot for her feisty self.
But damn, now I know I will be checking out the feet in the next stall. So much for ignorant blissful peeing.

I have only ever noticed someone feet once and that was by accident. I had a beautiful lady come up and talk to me years ago while I was out at a bar. We had a great conversation but my gut told me I knew her. Feeling ashamed that I couldn’t place her I said nothing until I happen to notice the birthmark on her foot! OMG…idiot me it was my brother-in-law post surgery so at that point my sister-in-law. I didn’t know she was back in town and she is a beautiful person. She laughed hysterically when I finally owned up to not knowing who she was originally. In the time she was gone she learned her makeup routine much better!

One foot, two feet, red feet, blue feet?

Only time I’ve ever noticed the feet in the stall next to me is when they’ve been pointed in the other direction or when there’s more than one set in the stall- usually because someone has brought their toddler in with them. Neither caused me much alarm because, peeing. But of all the things, it’s when said toddler crawled into my stall when I was changing my tamp that was of concern. Never once did I contemplate how my feet were being judged! (And I live in a big city & idk wtf that has to do with anything for who made comment about that. Small town/big city people all urinate pretty much the same unless you have a catheter) Aside from standing by my original post that there are quite possibly some people with more than one username just trying to spew ugliness or garner attention or what the fuck ever their motivation(s); Re-reading this whole thing this morning I just gotta say THIS IS THE MOST RETARDED THING IVE EVER READ. Kkbella must be on the mutherfuckin meth! ???

The palpable hatred is a different thing all together and clearly the problem of the author(s). JS

Dorinda and Sonja think LGBT only stands for the stereotype of the bitchy gay guys in Manhattan that tell them how “fierce” their hair and clothes are. Beyond that they have no time for anyone else who is actually representative. If you won’t be their pet poodle gay guy and shopping pal they don’t have the time or respect for you.

This is common across the franchise. Didn’t Miss Lawrence and Dereck J leave ATL because they were sick of being talked down to and stereotyped?

Andy Cohen only makes it worse with the cringeworthy worshipful BS he gushes on them 24/7.

I’m with Tamara Tattles on this, being creeped out by someone who checks the character and beauty of the feet in the stalls on the sides? I mean even the most bathroom anxious of us have so many other concerns, am I right? How long is the line? Is the available stall a mess? Is it plugged up or unflushed? Is there TP? Are there toilet covers? Is there a place to hang my purse where it can’t be grabbed? Is that wet floor urine? Do I have to flush by hand or is it automatic? Will the sinks have soap? Towel dispensers or hand dryers? Look at myself in the mirror? Ugh-good god. Can’t fix that right now. I mean seriously. The only time I’ve bent down to look for feet is when I can’t tell if a stall is occupied.
