MDLNY Recap: This Is A Great Season!

September 7, 2019 by tamaratattles 46 Comments

MDLNY recapI kind of lied about this being a MDLNY Recap. It’s more of a discussion posts for the first six episodes. I’m loving this episode. Mostly because Luis is back. I’m starting episode six now and I still haven’t seen the new guy I EXCLUSIVELY told y’all about yet. Maybe this is the episode? I promise he is coming.

The other good thing about this season is that Luis, Steve OWIROWEIRWOERUERUERIUE are all having babies! I am DYING to know who Luis accidentally knocked up, but apparently he’s not allowed to say.

So Much Drama!

Ryan gets to use his soap actor skills this season pretending to cry to Emilia about the soft market. It’s like As The World Turns is back on the air! The down market is the star of this season. They guys are having to work really hard. Work is HARD you guys! Who knew! Revenue fluctuates. Markets change. It’s like this is news to all of them.

Steve’s British girlfriend Louisa, who is preggers, has moved from London to NYC.  As someone who spends countless hours researching visa programs in other countries. I wonder how she can just decide to come live in NYC. It’s WAY more complicated than you think. I am trying to figure out Louisa’s accent. It’s not British.

MDNY RecapTyler Whitman!!!!!!

Yep! This is the episode with Tyler! I LOVE HIM! You are either going to love him or hate him. I choose love. He makes me happy. I DON’ DO HAPPY! I may need to watch a Tyler video a day as therapy. Here is what I previously told you about him.

Tamara Tattles can exclusively announce Tyler Kane Whitman is expected to join Million Dollar Listing NYC season eight, I think you will love him. He’s young, he’s gay, he hyperactive, and he’s a bit of a drama queen. Tyler’s fun fact is that he lost two hundred pounds recently and now is just a little wisp of a thing. He used to have a podcast called Fat and Gay before he lost the weight. I didn’t see him then, but he is cute as a button now. He kind of reminds me of Madison from MDLLA with a much more positive attitude.

Click Here For More MDLNY Recaps And News!

Tyler is employed by Triplemint, a real estate firm in NYC that focuses on millennials and technology that allows buyers to access databases directly and select the properties they are interested in seeing. It’s a new twist on buying a home. You can tell that it’s not stodgy old Douglas Ellman because the video posted here is Tyler’s video on the company website. It’s hysterical.

This episode was so great. I love this season. I had to cut this short though because the BB21 Veto comp ended right at the end of my watching time and I had to run to my first love. lol

So are you watching? Do you love this season as much as I do?

Any citizen of a basically white Christian country can stay in the US for three months as a visitor. They don’t even apply for visas. They just show up and say hi I’m here like you do when you go to Paris. As long as you leave the US every three months – any country – you come back in for another 3- anyway – you could stay in NY forever that way. As long as you’re not trying to get a legit job or use social services.

I’d like to tell you you are an idiot. But you are not and you are right and that is the same thing in Europe. And pretty much anywhere, I’ve been over thinking my move. Because I could rent in Paris or any European country and then go to Morroco or Egypt and return lather rinse repeat.

I don’t know why I didn’t get this until now,. I’m serious. And dumb. And I could probably buy health insurance in that country…

wow. This plan works until I am too old to leave and come back… I like it. You may have eliminated a lot of my stress. Thanks. This is so ridiculously easy. Why did this never occur to me? I’m a moron. Thanks again.

When yo get “too old,” could you just take the Chunnel? Or perhaps take a train to Amsterdam, load up on drugs, then go back to Paris? One of my neighbors had a MAJOR stroke on vacation in Paris, spent weeks in the hospital. The bill: $0. Or ZERO francs. Back home in the Bay Area, she had a MINOR setback, they had to split up to protect the house and eventually DID break up because of disagreements on treatment and money.

It may be a new twist in NYC but here everyone searches different companies databases for houses they want to look at then they call the broker of each company and view the few houses they’re actually interested in.
I’m loving the new season! Both Luis and Steve have girlfriends they didn’t expect to get pregnant so it will be interesting to see how fatherhood plays out for them. My heart hurts for Luis and his break-up.

Cool, glad I could help. I’m pretty sure in Europe you can easily get health treatment without insurance, just for being human you know (as it should be in my opinion – I’m a socialist dolphin). I’m sure there are many docs and clinics that don’t ask for any ID. If they do ask for ID just show US passport and say you’re visiting. Free or very cheap. I’ve been treated in France (morning after pill) and Prague (ear ache). Maybe get insurance for something really major (?)

You can’t actually just show up, you have to apply for the visa waiver (ESTA) and not everyone qualifies. And abusing it by leaving for a week and then coming back for another 90 days will make you ineligible if a USCIS officer doesn’t like the look of you. But – interesting info for Tamara is that some countries have different residency visa requirements for Americans. Holland is one of those countries ?.

I love this show and I’m happy about the discussion. I want to know what happen to the a Brooklyn brownstone that Ryan bought. That was last season’s ending and this season he hasn’t said a word about it. Also why is fine a$$ Steve renting an apartment in New York? I know he owns a house in Long Island, I would have thought he would have bought a place in New York as well.

I’m a real estate agent and I love this show so much. I can relate to so dang much….you guys just don’t even know….the stress, ug. Unlike the housewives who always seem to have fake businesses and what not, these guys are the real freakin deal, top agents in the country. I am obsessed with Ryan’s real estate vlog on youtube. I know Ryan was fake crying for the show, but considering how many times I have cried over deals, yeah, the scene hit home bc the agent is always the one who gets blamed. Interesting side note: NYC doesn’t have a central MLS (according to my NYC realtor friends, I’m in a totally different state). So most cities have a MLS (multiple listing service) that agents are a member of and we submit our listings to the MLS database. The MLS then sends the listings to other websites like realtor and zillow for general population to look at and we as agents have access to all these listings. I even have my own website which directly populates from the MLS. NYC doesn’t have that so I believe the agents who have listings pay to put each individual listings on websites with their name directly attached. Sounds a little complicated but I could see why there would be potential drama with Tyler around that.

But here is the story on Fred and fam moving. https://tamaratattles.com/2019/07/13/fredrik-eklund-and-derek-kaplan-have-moved-to-beverly-hills/ short version he is still working in NYC and now also BH. So perhaps he will be on both?

I hope he joins! Fredrick will be such a great addition to the BH franchise. He’s going to shake things up in a big way. I know LA is a much different housing market than NY but that’s what will make it interesting. Side note-difficult to explain, but I can’t get enough of Josh Flagg. Can’t wait to see their dynamic.

TT- Thank out for reminding me that I really enjoy this show. Yes the guys argue, and frustrate each other but it’s surface level. I can’t recall them taking low blows and at the end of the day I think they genuinely support and like each other. I like when they go head to head negotiating a deal. Their different strategies are fun to watch. It’s sweet watching them build their families. Also Fredrick’s husband, Derek, is eye candy for days.

The idea of a pied-à-terre investment in NYC or elsewhere sounds so fun. It would be our own little tamshare. ;-p (And I’m happy that Nicole won the veto on BB21 – if she manages to keep Tommy and send Holly out, I’ll be even happier.)

As a millenial it feels like trying to GET on the property ladder is a million dollar listing. We’ve missed all the cheapness. A friend of mine who is 56, bought a 3 bed Georgian Townhouse in my city for £250k in 2012. He’s just put it on the market for £1.8 million. The ONE bedroom flat I’ve been renting for the past three years had just sold for £600k.

Why wouldn’t Steve buy in this depressed market rather than rent at 16k a month? He could then sell when the market turned and he was ready to move.

I left Manhattan in 2014 as the rents were sky high. I wonder what my studio would go for now?
