I didn’t get into this season of MAFS as much as some of the previous ones. I’m not sure why really. The couples were interesting enough. I think it just seemed very slow this season. Also, as with every reality show, each season seems more and more scripted. The penultimate episode was a whole lot of “I have no idea what I am going to do.” We all know they know what they are going to do. But do we? Let’s Make some MAFS Decision Day predictions!
Deonna & Greg
At the beginning of the season, I would not have picked these to as the favorite to make it the entire distance. But, Deonna is finally opening up and Greg is being more tolerant of her closed-off demeanor. She pushes him to try new things and get out into the world. He pushes her to express her emotions. I think these two have the best chance. Oh and Deonna is now kissing him on camera, AND THEY HAD THE SEX! 🙂
Iris & Keith
This couple seemed like a lock for the most perfect match ever in the history of the show. They both work for non-profits. They both have good relationships with their mothers. Both have similar religious beliefs. They are both very attractive. It’s a perfect match!
Except it is not. Who knew being a virgin was such a huge issue. It seems that Iris remained a virgin at the end of their eight week experiment. This seemed to take a toll on Keith. His frustrations in that area of their relationship made him notice Iris’s general immaturity. She doesn’t seem to know how to share. The problem isn’t exactly Iris’ virginity. It’s about her lack of experience with relationships at all. Iris told her family she is definitely staying in the marriage. Keith’s scripted “I’m not sure what I’ll decide on Decision Day” seemed pretty believable to me.
Beth & Jaime
I don’t know what these two will decide but if it were up to me I would be filing for divorce for them. Jaime has left Beth at least twice in the eight weeks. They’ve probably only stayed together about seven weeks. On MAFS Decision Day, the preview indicates that Pastor Cal gets harsh with Jaime for his behavior. And while that point of view is well-founded, Beth isn’t exactly a peach either.
While I hope these two breakup. the seem to be attracted to the conflict. They also seem like their love/hate relationship may compel them to stay together. Honestly, I think these two may belong together. They are both oddballs. Just different kinds of oddballs. On this week’s episode, Jaime told his friend that Beth doesn’t want sex as much as he does. Probably, because he is always saying hateful things to her.
Amber & Matt
Why did Matt even come on this show? Perhaps he was looking for a family since he didn’t have one? But when he did get a family and a wife that adores him, he couldn’t be bothered to be around. Like Jaime, he would disappear for long stretches of time.
On the last episode, Matt told his friend that Amber is too clingy. And then, Amber’s best friend dropped a bomb. He had seen Matt canoodling with a girl in a bar and the two left together. If I were Amber I would have asked questions. When did this happen? What did the girl look like? What time did they leave? Did Matt see her friend there? But Amber just started sobbing.
So that is it for these two, right? Nope. Amber is seen in the previews for the finale talking about how much she cares for Matt. If she goes first, she will say she wants to stay together. Will Matt ever be honest with her?
My MAFS Decision Day predictions are one yes, and three maybes. What are yours?
