It’s time for the first RHOC recap of the season. As always, the trailer is teasing a very exciting season. Let’s see if the actual series starts with a bang, or a whimper.
It’s great to see Shannon doing so well with her weight loss. I don’t need to see her working out. I don’t understand why production thinks we want to see people working out. We are couch potatoes.
Gina calls her dad in New York to talk about her DUI. Also, she has bought her own house. It is the first time she has lived on her own. She says that she was at an event for moms shopping for leggings and drinking wine. However, if I recall correctly her ticket for the DUI was written very late at night. Yep, I just fact checked myself with the link above and it was 4 am when she was pulled over. She had already gotten a ticket for running a stop sign before this second traffic violation. Then, she after this she got a third ticket. She had three tickets in 2019 in less than five weeks.
We will have to talk about Gina’s talking heads later. I have two screenshots to share with you. I would not know it was Gina if it were not in her scene.
A House Divided
Next, we move on to Kelly. She has a new man who is apparently spoiling her. He must not know anything about her.
Across town we see Tamra’s new house. No not the new house from last season. They decided that house didn’t like them and had bad mojo do they moved to Coto de Caza. I believe that is where Vicki lives and was the original neighborhood for season one of RHOOC. She super excited that they joined the very fancy country club. I would be shocked if they allowed Bravo to film there. Is that a typo on the chyron? Was this gorgeous house in California really on two million dollars? I think it would cost a little more than that in Atlanta. It’s money well spent though.
In addition to Tamra’s son Ryan’s many other faults, he is an avid Trump supporter. I’m not sure if he can vote with his criminal record though. Tamra’s youngest son Spencer as “the total opposite” political views. Quite frankly, that may be just as bad. This country needs to find the sane middle ground. Ryan threatened to punch Spenser in the face for calling him a racist. If you blindly support Trump you are a racist. I’m tired of pussyfooting around that fact. On the other hand, I am for the wall and secure boarders. What I am not for is racism, bigotry and vile tweets. Tamra wants her sons to make up. Me too. I’d like less politics on my housewives shows.
The Quiet Woman
Ah… another scene with Tamra and Shannon at The Quiet Woman. Will Shannon throw a plate at Kelly this time? One can only home. I believe these two get along for the first few episodes at least. Shannon says she is dating a lot of men at the moment. Apparently, the one with her tonight is a front-runner. You go Shannon Beador. Find your happiness wherever you can.
These two seemed to support each other as divorced women between seasons. They both trash Gina for her DUI. Because they both love kicking people when they are down. Shannon blames Gina for this.
Kelly has “invited” Braunwyn to The Quiet Woman to introduce her to Shannon. Because, Shannon is always so welcoming of new housewives. Braunwyn looks amazing. She shares that she nursed for 18 years across seven children. Surely, that is hyperbole. Or perhaps she is one of those helicopter moms who shows up to lunch at the elementary school to breastfeed her third grader.
Pharoah Cats And Jackasses
In a crazy scene where Kelly needs to address a rat problem, she says she thinks she needs to adopt a “Pharoah” cat. Le sigh. Does no one have a decent vocabulary any more? Did Kelly go to USC as part of the rowing team? She wants an outdoor cat. Good luck with that. The cat advocates and the dog advocates don’t generally let people adopt pets that will be outdoors. Because animals have been living in houses since time began.
Gina goes out to lunch with Emily. Gina tells a whole new version of the night of her DUI. The mom event where she was just shopping for leggings is now at her friends house. There was someone in the car with her who had a open container and that is why she got the DUI. She claims she passed all the tests and the Breathalyzer “wasn’t registering.” This is stupid to do on TV. Currently she is in a custody battle with her husband. She recently asked the court to make him submit to random drug and alcohol tests. His response was that he had never been arrested for anything related to drugs or alcohol. But, she has.
True Friends (For Now)
I feel sympathy for Gina. Everyone fucks up sometime. The experience sounds traumatizing. She is a bit of an emotional mess, as one would suspect. If she is your friend, you should be there for her in the bad times like Emily is doing. Emily mentioned in her talking head the gravity of the situation and the repercussions of getting a DUI. But she is still there listening to her friend cry and talk about it. A true friend is one that walks in when others have walked out. At this point things are still decent with Matt. But that will become an even BIGGER issue than a DUI. But we have about five months before we get to that part of the story. Filming will have just ended, but Gina will come back to film about the attack.
Braunwyn Has Her Own Zoo
Braunwyn’s kids range from age 18 to ONE! Plus there is a pair of five year old twins in the middle! She’s been married to Sean Windham for 19 years. They met at a frat party in college.
Kelly’s boyfriend skeeves me out in the first 19 seconds of seeing him. This is the kind of guy I run from. He just too happy to be with her and overdoes everything. This may be a staged scene but in real life this is my cue to ghost the guy. Also, this is an add for a florist and a jeweler. Bleck. I see now why Michael was not happy his daughter met this dude. This guy makes Michael seem normal.
Oh dear God we have to see all of Shannon’s plastic surgery. Why are we ending on such a gross note? Ugh and Kelly’s Botox! Kelly’s new man is a plastic surgeon. She’s get all the free work, he’ll get all the free advertising. Then she will move on.
On next week’s episode Tamra is throwing the first all cast party. And for some reason, she is asking Kelly if it is okay if Vicki comes. Since when is Kelly Dodd the decider of anything real or production-driven? Kelly is pissed that Vicki mentioned that she did cocaine on the last reunion. Kelly says her kid’s friends parents don’t want to let them come over. She drags her kid on the show to talk about it. It’s weird.
