MAFS Recap: Can This Show PLEASE Move Things Along?

June 28, 2019 by tamaratattles 8 Comments

MAFS RecapIt’s time to try and get this weeks MAFS Recap up. It airs at a bad time for me to be able to recap in a more timely fashion. We’ve finally gotten all four couples married off and into their honeymoon suites for the night. To be honest all a couple of them seem to be headed to pound town on their first night together. I don’t see anything wrong with that. Might as well be all in.

Elizabeth & Jamie

Elizabeth immediately gets naked on camera.

The next day Elizabeth goes to meet with her in-laws. At the same time Jamie goes to meet with his new in-laws. Elizabeth’s dad is beyond a helicopter parent. Though a lot of this seems hyped for the cameras.

Deonna & Greg

Deonna carefully removes each rose petal from the bed before getting in. Greg asks his wife for her phone number. LOL. Greg has a fun sense of humor and a nice smile.

These two also go to visit privately with their in-laws. Deonna’s dad is also a bit over protective of his daughter. But nothing like Elizabeth’s dad.

Iris & Keith

Iris let’s Keith know as soon as they get into bed that she is a virgin. Keith seems sort of freaked out by her admission.

The in-laws visit goes very well for Iris. Again, the fathers of the bride are not playing. And Iris’s dad had a mental breakdown at the wedding. But he seems pleased with Keith.

MAFS RecapAmber & Matt

Amber asks Matt, “Do we want to pop this or not?” I have a lot of antiquated beliefs about relationships and believe in traditional gender roles. But I do use my own brain. So her basically asking permission to open the champagne seemed really odd to me. Is it just me? Also how does spooning actually work with like twenty inches of height differential?

I think the meet the in-laws thing was a really crappy thing to start on a season where Matt has no parents in his life.  Amber meets with Matt’s friends instead. They inform her that he is a talented musician and songwriter who can play almost any instrument. Matt seemed a bit nervous with Amber’s family.

This was another sort of filler episode. But at least we got them to Antigua their honeymoon destination. This episode was a dud.

On next week’s MAFS Recap looks like the arguments start for all of them except maybe Elizabeth and Jamie.

I’m already thinking that none of the couples will survive. Hopefully I’m wrong. One of the guys said he was recruited to be on the show. If this isn’t something you really want to do there is no way the marriage will work. I’ve been to Antigua. Great beaches.

Now that Courteny & Jason from season 1 are divorced, this show has a worse success rate than Love After Lockup

I am trying really hard to remember Courtney and Jason. Was he the firefighter?

I am very pleased that all of the couples seem to find each other sexually attractive from the start. I thought there was a good chance that most couples would do the deed on the wedding night, and disappointed that everyone refrained. Greg seems like a very nice guy, and Deonna seems pretty uptight. I LOL’d when Jamie called his wife Elizabeth when he learned that her father calls her Beth. Her dad definitely has issues, but I hope the show is exaggerating. There are a couple of people who seem quirky and potentially irritating, but no one seems like an outright villain. I was glad that we skipped over bachelor/bachlorette parties and got to the honeymoon by the end of this episode.

I feel like there isn’t even enough show to recap. Thank goodness for DVR and FF.

The highlight for me is to see Pineapple Beach Antigua. Haven’t been there in a decade and Sandals/Beaches now owns them yet I’m not getting my points because PIneapple can’t seem to find my name!

Still curious to see what they show of the resort because the water is phenomenal, the bluest blue and very calm. There is also a place to eat that is up the hill overlooking the water that is crazy good, used to be cash only I think it is now officially part of the resort? The resort is all-inclusive, just not many restaurants/variety so that one stuck out.

Thanks to the show and readers ‘ comments, I’m googling Antigua Sandals resorts and I WANT TO GO! I hope Deonna lightens up and her little girl voice drives me nuts. I hope Amber and Matt work out, same for Iris and Keith.

I like all the couples so far and hope they can make it. Seems like the experts looked for things the couples had in common this time.

Elizabeth is hyper but cool. Her dad is creepy. I liked the way Jamie handled him. Yes the name change was funny.

Deonna seems like a problem. Greg is cool so far but she looks like a button pusher. I like her parents and her dad was great with Greg.

Keith & Iris. I’m still enjoying the honeymoon with them. They are perfect.

Amber & Matt both have parent situations. Curious to find out what separated Matt from his parents besides the divorce. The height difference is awkward but they seem to enjoy it.

S/N Former show expert, Dr. Jessica, & former show husband, Jon, had their engagement party.
