Back when Southern Charm first started, I said I would never watch the show. Because of Thomas Ravenel. Charleston is my favorite city in the world. I lived there very briefly as a child around age six. It was something to do with our move to Libya. Perhaps visa training for my dad. All of my siblings lived there. It’s kind of hazy to me but my eldest brother met his future wife there. Or perhaps they were already married?
Anyway, the main thing I remember is I used to like catching frogs. We lived in a house next to a little boy and together we caught all these frogs in a paper bag. I of course gave the bag to my mother. As a gift. Because, FROGS! We were inside the house when she opened the bag. So um, no good deed goes unpunished should have been an early lesson for me. Alas, I still can’t wrap my mind around that concept. But, back to Thomas Ravenel.
Charlestonians Hate Thomas Ravenel As Much As We Do
Anyway over the weekend lots of you sent me emails about a sign hanging on a house on the battery calling out Thomas Ravenel . The battery is one of the most beautiful parts of Charleston. It’s the street where there are gorgeous homes right on the water. There is a beautiful park. And it is VERY expensive to live there.
The sign was apparently made by a local restaurant/pub owner. I was a bit pleased this was happening. But didn’t post about it because I needed some time with my dog, Banjo. Thomas Ravenel was not a story I wanted to to over the holiday. But, I am REALLY pleased that today someone sent me a video letting me know it made the local news.
The words they blurred out were “forcible rape.” I really hope this guy is successful in running Thomas Ravenel out of town if he gets out of this court case.
