I’m finally up to the task of attempting the latest Killing Eve Recap. Or at least getting a start on it. Wow, we start with Niko wandering into the house where Eve was researching Aaron Peel. It’s pouring rain and he is soaked to the bone. He confronts Eve about stabbing Villanelle. She tries to deny it, but he doesn’t believe. He asks her if she liked it. And if she likes all of this. There are a lot of sexual overtones to the conversation.
Then he asks Eve if she wants him to love her or if she wants him to frighten her? She says, “I don’t know.” He holds her by the throat and tells her to go up stairs. She crawls to the stairs. Then, we cut to Villanelle standing outside the window in the rain.
The Morning After
The next morning, Eve is on cloud nine after a night of kinky sex. Niko feels shitty because he enjoyed it too. He’s not sure if he can be with Eve anymore.
Across town at Carolyn’s house, Konstantin is making some eggs and a Nairobian man wanders into the kitchen. Apparently, Carolyn got laid the night before. Kenny walks into the kitchen to discover the strange threesome. He stand there for a bit in shock. Then he turns around and leaves.
I Can’t Stand Breakfast. It’s Just Constant Eggs. Why? Who Decided?
Carolyn and Eve meet up at what looks like a Moroccan restaurant for breakfast. Carolyn rolls some video on her laptop while smoking a hookah. It’s Aaron Peel. He is being interviewed by a journalist with a hidden camera. Aaron says he is going to go public with the S&M sex scenes he has with his wife. The journalist was found dead in a sewer shortly after.
In two weeks there is a conference in Rome. Aaron Peel will be there. They need someone to be there and get close to him. Eve and Jess ask Konstantin if they can hire Villanelle. Since Aaron doesn’t like anyone except his sister, Villanelle is going to cozy up to the sister. She goes to AA and Villanelle will take on the character of Billie and befriend he at the meetings.
What do we know about this four part series, Luther, BBCA keeps advertising?
The First AA Meeting
Niko Polastri has not come home or returned Eve’s texts since he left the house. Jess says there’s really nothing a BJ and a compliment can’t fix when it comes to a man. While Eve is having lunch, Eve magically appears. She tells he a BJ won’t fix things with Niko. He’s too nice. Eve says that Villanelle doesn’t understand how much harder it is to be nice and caring than it is to be like her. Villanelle correct’s her, “Like us.” She use the line in her first AA meeting about it being harder to be nice than just be herself. She also says her husband left her because he just couldn’t take it anymore. Eve was listening to the meeting via a bug. It seemed painful for her to hear.
Eve and Villanelle have an argument about “Billie’s” story in the AA meeting. When Eve gets snippy with Villanelle, she tells her not to speak to her that way. Villanelle says she likes her, but not that much. Villanelle says, “Don’t forget, the only thing that makes you interesting is me.”
The Second AA Meeting
Niko still has not returned home or contacted Eve. Before the second AA meeting, Eve goes by Niko’s school. She sees him sitting outside before class. Before she can approach him, the schoolteacher with the crush on him shows up. The talk briefly in intimate proximity. Then she gives him a hug and they go inside together. Eve is devastated.
In the AA meeting, “Billie” says she has trouble telling the truth. She doesn’t really get the concept. She says most days she feels nothing. Billie hurts herself, but she doesn’t feel anything. She buys what she wants and she feels nothing. She’s just so bored. This seems to strike close to home for Eve. On a smoke break after the meeting, the sister want’s to invite Billie to something. But her minder comes out of nowhere to let her know that she is not to make friends with anyone from the meetings.
The sister goes inside to get her stuff or whatever. When the minder comes out, Villanelle approaches her and makes an excuse to hug her. I thought maybe she was planting a bug. But then, she pushes her in front of a bus. I didn’t see that coming. Did you? Eve was watching the whole thing.
Eve interrupts Carolyn at her fencing class to tell her about what Villanelle did. She’s heard. It was an accident. She keeps cutting Eve off to stop her from telling her otherwise. Carolyn says things are going well because Villanelle has been texting with Amber Peel. And she gets back to her fencing.
Eve called the school to find out where the trampy schoolteacher lives. She took Niko some of her stuff. The schoolteacher invited her in for tea. Eve asks to use the bathroom but instead goes into the teacher’s bedroom. She brakes the dancing ballerina off the odd music box with manicure stuff in it. Then, she rummages through all of he sexy bras. She gets snippy with the schoolteacher.
Niko comes in and says there is nothing going on with them. He sleeps on the pullout sofa. As she storms off Eve tells the teacher, “I hope you like the missionary position.” She replies, “I do actually.” Eve tells Niko he will be happy there. He replies, “I dread to think where you’ll be happy, Eve. The teacher cries over the broken ballerina.
Dinner With Aaron And Amber
Suffice it to say it didn’t go well. Aaron is a jackass who grilled her about her two fake philosophy degrees. He also caught her snooping around his office. The evening ended with her smacking in the face with a book and giving him a nose bleed.
Then she went to a Gyro shop. Or a schwarma shop if you’re Libyan. How does she not know what that is? She’s very well traveled. She’s mesmerized by the meat on a skewer. Two girls come in for some fries. She follows them when they leave. When they run into her, they invite her to walk with them. It’s dark and there is safety in numbers. She says she would love that. Villanelle smiles. That is where the episode ends. I don’t get it.
Next week’s Killing Eve preview didn’t play all the way for me. I did hear Eve telling a guy she thinks about Villanelle all the time. See you for next week’s Killing Eve Recap. There are only two or three episodes left. In the meantime, I’m going to need a lot of help figuring out this episode in comments.
