Mexican Dynasties Recap: Blood Is Thicker Than Tequila

Mexican Dynasties Recap Fernando and MariWell, this is it. The season finale of Mexican Dynasties, which means this is my last Mexican Dynasties Recap unless there is by some miracle a season.

La Familia Allende

Fernando’s big concert at Lunario is hyped up by Fernando and Mari. I’m sure it will be the final all cast scene. So we have about 40 minutes to get everyone on speaking terms. First, we need more scenes of Mari crying because he adult child has “moved out.” Frankly, I don’t think Adan, Elan or Jenny really live in Mexico. They will be leaving after the concert to go back to wherever they do live. Just like Doris Bessudo. This makes Mari’s constant crying even more estúpida.

As of now, Adan Allende and Elan Allende both say they are not going to perform. But they are going to be in the audience. Meanwhile, the three of them play guitar and sing together. Not that they are practicing for Lunario or anything. Because they are definitely not singing at the concert. Both the guys talk about how they want to be successful of their own out from under the shadow of their famous husband.

Meanwhile, Mari is praying in her penthouse to Virgen de Guadalupe that Adan will make the right decision about Lunario. Specifically she asks her to help him focus and admit when he is wrong and to guide him to the right decision.

Mexican Dynasties Recap AdanAdan Falls Victim To Black Magic!

Twelve hours later. Adan has come to a decision. That decision is to pack up his crap at his parents house since filming is ending and be ready to fly back home as soon as possible. Oh wait. No it isn’t. Mari had some sort of hypnotherapist he had previously seen call Adan at 11 pm and within twenty minutes he had packed his crap from Elan and Jenny’s and gone home to his mama. Someone brainwashed him over the phone.

Doris meets Elan and Jenny for dinner. They give her the latest news on Adan. Not only did Adan say he could not “abandon” his parents, he also said he can’t be in a relationship with Maria Paz. Everything he said contradicted all the things he was happy about less than an hour before. He looked like a zombie. Mari has had someone cast a spell on him!

Adan says he didn’t speak to a hypnotherapist.  He says that ten of his friends reminded him that he has the best parents in the world. At midnight after twenty minutes on the phone? That two minutes per friend! He’s been zombified by Mari! There is no other explanation!

Mexican Dynasties RecapLa Familia Madrazo

Tarek is back for the final episode as well. Oscar is going to introduce him to his children. It’s way too soon for that! But, first Oscar gives him a tour of the city. And we get to go too! They buy Pancho Villa mustaches that they wear for the rest of the city tour. Mexico City is very beautiful. The crown jewel is Palacio de Bellas Artes a stunning beauty in itself, it is filled with everything from murals by Diego Rivera to concert halls where Pavarotti and sung and a theatre with a 24 ton stage curtain made of Tiffany glass. This show is really making me want to visit Mexico City.

Our fashion plate, Ocscar has chosen to dress like Waldo for this outing. This may be a bigger travesty than that puffy coat he wore on the hot air balloon trip.

Later, the kids finally meet Tarek. They talk about all the languages that Tarek speaks. He talks about their school work and how smart and polished they are. It goes really well. Unfortunately, the streets are saying the relationship didn’t last. They do not even follow each other on Instagram.

Mexican Dynasties Recap Raquel and DorisLa Familia Bessudo

First of all, I tried to get Kyle Richards to send me some Perpetua creams and I got two crying laughing emojis in response. I was dead serious!

It’s just another day at Casa Bessudo. One or Mexico’s most well know modern artists, Karla de Lara is there to start a mother daughter portrait. Considered by many to be the mother of hyper-realist pop art, Karla’s painting sell for thousands of dollars. Raquel has many of her painting on display in her home. All of them are of…Raquel. The largest one probably cost at least $20K.

Doris is trying to get a mother daughter painting with her. Raquel tells Doris that the painting of the two of them is her gift to her. Because, she’d not going to hang it in her house. Not with someone else in the painting! Doris suggest that her mom buy her a bigger house worthy of the painting.

Fernando and Mari Allendes laughing togetherThe Concert At Lunario

For the umpteenth time, Fernando reminds us what a big deal a concert at Lunario is. Then, much to everyone’s “surprise” Adan opens the show for his father. I believe he was lipsyncing. And he carried the entire microphone stand, replete with a Mick Jagger scarf or two while doing it. I do like the song though. Then out comes Fernando, who looks more like Liberace than ever, crooning a love song to Mari. All the old ladies in the audience seem to love Fernando and his multiple jacket changes.

Jenny and Mari get into it from their tables on the front row. Doris takes Jenny outside to cool her down. But, Doris is pretty worked up too. Then. Elan goes out to check on them. When the concert ends, Mari hugs everyone including Doris and Jenny as if they were besties. How very “housewives” of her.

The After Party

After the concert, everyone heads over to Fernando and Mari’s penthouse. Paulina shows Oscar all of Mari’s black magic stuff. He’s convinced she’s a witch.

Doris and Adan talk and he says he still wants to work with just her on his music. Um, didn’t he just do a concert that she didn’t know he was doing? Doris says if he is on his own for a year, then she will consider representing him again. Doris did pick up Jenny and Elan and works as their publicist.

In the end, Jenny tells us that “blood is thicker than tequila” and they are a family.

Jose and Paulina are still together and traveling the world.

MISSED A MEXICAN DYNASTIES RECAP? READ THEM ALL HERE!

Ah Oscar and Tarek did break up. But Oscar has a new love, Jeffery. He is British and live in Mexico City.

Adan released his video and booked a cruise with Maria Paz. But then dumped her for “the tripod” and the three of them went together instead.

Mari and Fernando are going to China for six weeks for the Miss World pageant. Then they plan to visit the White House. Then to Thailand. Oh, and also they are going to see the Pope at the Vatican. And surely Adan will be with them for it all. Adan and Fernando will be singing in London. Oh and they are hawking their own line of shampoo.

And that’s the last Mexican Dynasty Recap. 🙁

Thank you TT for the wonderful recap ! I simply adore this show and all the people in it….even the flawed ones 🙂 . Is there any news about it returning next season ?

I truly hope you are wrong. I loved this show so much. It was a shock to me but I really enjoyed it. It was refreshing and funny. I think Bravo is going to have a hard time bringing in new people with these shows because they have let the nonesense that is the Housewives and Southern Charm (s), VPR, etc. The nastiness and all the bad behaviour has just lingered and melded until it is a bad habit and not entertaining at all.
This was fun. I will be sad not to know how it all turns out whether it is real or not. I don’t care it was sweet, and silly. Just what the doctor ordered!

When watching this season, and writing this episode in particular, I realized that what I liked the most, even above how much fun it is to watch was learning new things. I am the perpetual student in my family where that is considered a jab.

In grad school I majored “reading education” and minored in psychology (you don’t really get a minor but all my optional courses were in brain and behavior or childhood psychological development). I was thrilled to have one of my first grad courses with Professor Stephen Stahl who is a vocabulary expert. I was a superfan. Everyone else in the class was a teacher trying to get a Master’s to raise their pay grade. I was subbing on the days that I felt like it, mostly middle school special ed because I liked it and most subs avoid both middle school and special ed like the plague. (Side note, I taught middle school for ONE year and was out. Middle schoolers are horrible people)

So anyway, I was that obnoxious person in the graduate U (the seating arrangement for all grad classes I’ve ever had) hanging on the professor’s every word. Everyone else just wanted to get the fuck out of the afternoon class and go home. The topic was vocabulary. THIS IS MY FAVORITE TOPIC!!!!!!!!!! Apparently that is annoying. There were lots of reading assignments! YAY! They were mostly studies by the professsor! I AM IN HEAVEN.

So we are in class and I am that person who ASKS QUESTIONS! I’m paying my own way and I want ALL THE KNOWLEDGE I CAN GET PER DOLLAR SPENT! The only more annoying person than me, was “In my country” some guy from some unknown country who started every comment with “IN MY COUNTRY…” I still don’t know or care what his country was.

Anyway. The literal GOD OF READING was talking about VOCABULARY!!!! in a room of about a dozen people. And he says no one looks up every word they don’t know when they are reading and uses context clues to discern meaning. SO I SAY….

“Actually, Dr. Stahl, I looked up 37 words and terms on last night’s reading assignment and wrote out all of the terms and their definitions in my notes and used color coded highlighters (God, I love me a highlighter) to categorize them.” He didn’t believe me. I showed him my work in front of the entire class.

It was at that moment that everyone REALLY hated me. And Dr. Stahl felt like I was contradicting him rather than fangirling out.

I share this story to defend myself for looking up all of the places and building and things they went to, briefly researching them and including facts in my recap. Then I realize this entire comment is me trying to not so humble brag about my deep dive into this series.

I’m still that one girl in graduate school who is keeping us all from getting out of class early.

    Le sigh.

I’ve never been a post grad student. I did take a class in HS, “Word power through Latin” and I am so glad I did! I sadly still make grammar mistakes and love the luxury of Google now for too much but that one class alone gave me a rich understanding of words, their roots and meanings for multiple languages. I learned more in that class about word roots than I did in 8+(?) years of French and a lifetime of speaking and writing English.

Great recap, Tamara. As a fellow nerd, I really enjoyed your comment on Dr. Stahl’s class. As usual, you have knowledge above and beyond most of us mere mortals. Fascinating!

Aw I ? you. I’m a nerd too. Of course the prof felt undermined. Only men with small penises and troubled egos go into academia. I’ve been to Mexico city and my experience was not like this show. It was a long time ago and everywhere in the world seems to have experienced gentrification since then. On the show we stayed inside a nice safe polished bubble of wealth. Overall it reminded me a bit of spending time in a couple of middle eastern capitals. The elite have just a few cherry-picked spots they are willing to go to and if you aren’t in the know then you don’t know. I like the inter-generational parties and fun. I need to end up in a place like that so I can still have fun when I’m old. I’ve been auditioning New Orleans. Thanks for posting!!

Oh boy, you’re one of those!!!! lol. At least you had a genuine interest and weren’t just BSing the professor. I had one who was insufferable in class but full of it. He bragged that he never read our textbook. He would give BS answers when the professor asked questions in class. So, I waited for the perfect time to call him out on one of his answers in class and it was great …. I still smile when I remember the look on his cocky face.
      He was a jerk….

I’m actually really sad this over. When I’d seen the promos, I thought it was not something I’d even watch, but think I was bored one day and gave it a shot. I was surprised that I liked it so much! Really hope there’ll be a second season, but from what you say, I don’t like our chances! It was just nice to have a show where they weren’t so vicious and nasty-enough of that in the real world. It was also nice to see Mexico City

Sooooo, Jenny carries on loudly during Fernando’s performance, tells mari she will bitch slap her and then proceeds to yell “everyone to maris and Fernando’s for after party!”…. yeah I don’t think so. Is mari overbearing and intrusive? Yes. Does Jenny’s get to embarrass herself and everyone else because of it? No. That’s not ok. The only one who was “annoying as hell” at that event was Jenny. Didn’t like her bitch fit at all.

I think we all got a little hoodwinked with this show. Don’t get me wrong…I really liked it….but I think it was a frothy mix of Real Housewives meets a Telanovela. The crazy family dynamics and over the top dramatics with a bit of looking for love, the staff ripping on their employers during the “confessionals”, and the whisper of Black Magic thrown in for good measure. All three families are all performers…remember that Doris’s mom is not just the lonely widow of a soda maker…She is also a famous tv personality. I look at it as these families were just playing roles. That said…yeah, I would totally watch it again!! ?

I had all 10 episodes of this show saved on my DVR and decided to take a look at it before I erased it. I ended up watching 6 episodes last night. I absolutely love it! Now I can’t wait to watch the last 4 episodes, but also want to save it because I don’t want it to end. I am so happy that I decided to watch it instead of just erasing it. It’s my new favorite show. I wish that there were more episodes.

Thanks for the recapp TT. I like this show, it is lighthearted and fun. I like seeing Mexico through this lens. My friend attended college in Mexico city and she loved it. Unfortunately, I didn’t visit the country while she lived there. This show makes me want to visit there.
I hope this show is renewed.

Adan is 100% living in Mexico as a member of the tripod. I bit the bullet and followed him on IG (mostly because my husband is convinced he wears blue contacts) and EVERY. VIDEO. has Fernando in it being all kinds of extra. He’s always with them. Mari’s jocasta complex is terrifying. Also girl stay out of Mexico City, it’s rough there right now.
