Mexican Dynasties Recap: The Runway

April 24, 2019 by tamaratattles 16 Comments

When last we saw our favorite Mexican families, Adan had been thrown out of his mommy and daddy’s house. However will he survive? Let me finally get on this Mexican Dynasties Recap and find out!

Dueling Scenes to Rehash Last Week’s Drama With Mari

In the first corner, weighing in at… well you get the idea. Doris and Oscar meet at a tea shop to discuss the situation with Mari at his ¡Que Madrazo! party.  In her version, it was Yom Kippur and she was just trying to make a new beginning with Mari. Oscar agrees with Doris.

Mari tells Fernando that Doris said that Adan had no talent and needs to consider other career options. Well, that is not really what she said. She said Adan needs a lot of vocal instruction. Or she thinks he could be a great actor. Fernando says Adan needs to have a talk with Doris. Adan is at the house! I thought he left that night! When they tell him a negative interpretation of what Doris said, he says he wants to speak with Doris himself. That’s great. Then he says he wants both of them there. That’s a problem. Adan is suddenly speaking up for himself. And it is at this point that Fernando throws him out of the house. YAY! Fly from the nest, Adan! Fernando says he is not Adan’s personal manager anymore. Perfecto!

Mexican Dynasties Recap: The RunawayLa Familia Bessudo

Raquel and Doris Bessudo work out together and chat about her perpetua creams. She’s going to market them herself. She is going to have a huge launch event. Doris thinks Mari and Fernando could use a strong face cream.

La Familia Allende

The runaway boy had run straight to his brother’s apartment. Elan and Jenny know something big is going on because he’s never come to their apartment. He tells them the whole story about being thrown out of the house. Jenni and Elan totally support him. They talk about how Fernando overshadows every event they have. They support him going out on his own. Then mommy calls. He was supposed to go with her to some event. She tries to guilt him into coming. When he resists, she replies, “I understand that getting laid is more important.” He hangs up on her.

Elan and Adan call Jesus to ask him to bring Elan a suit for the gala. He checks with Fernando and he tells him he cannot do that. If Elan wants something, he has to come and get it. Wow. That’s so petty. Elan tells Adan not to go over there. He can just wear the clothes he wore yesterday.

Doris Meets With Her Friend To Talk About Sam

Doris’s friend Patty has a sculpture type thing that says PUTA! That’s a bad word, right? Patty thinks that Sam is a great match for Raquel. Patty dated Sam for a few months a long time ago. She explains that her father was terminally ill for five years before he passed. So her mom has been grieving and been alone for a long time. By the time Doris comes around to Sam. Her mother let’s her know she’s not interested in being more than friends with him.

Mexican Dynasties Recap Episode 9 The RunawayThe Runaway Boy Finds A New Home

Adan has settled into his brother’s apartment quite nicely. He’s underwhelmed by the accommodations. However, he is thrilled that Maria Paz is now his roommate.

Meanwhile, Adan’s mommy has taken to the bed. She’s ever so distraught her son who is nearly thirty years old has been gone for almost 48 hours? However will she go on? She’s still crying. She says that Adan treated her with the same lack of respect that Doris treated her with at the Madrazo’s party. She’s right. They both treated her with ZERO disrespect. But Mari convinces Fernando that Doris is wicked. So they are not going to Raquel’s event. YAY! We can finally have an event that is not all about Fernando!

These two have turned their evening into a giant pity party. They are plotting revenge on Adan. Fernando wants to cancel his performance at some big concert he has. Mari agrees. He needs to learn a lesson.

Tacuba 15

Raquel’s launch event for her Perpetua anti-aging creams is held in a stunning Porfirian palace in the historic district of Mexico City. It’s very Parisian in style and has a Jewish heritage with writings in Yiddish.

Suddenly, we are in a talking head with Oscar and Paulina. Oscar shares that he thinks the secret ingredient in Raquel’s creams is donkey sperm. See, when he was young he and his friends would go see a Mexican prostitute and when they didn’t have money they would steal things from their house to give her. Anyway, it was this prostitute who told him about the anti-aging powers of donkey sperm. I imagine donkey sperm has lots of protein and would probably be a very beneficial ingredient.

Everyone who is anyone in Mexico City is at this launch event. Well, except for Mari and Fernando. Which is a great blessing. When Doris talks to Adan, he tells her that he is moving out of the house and he is not going to work with his mom anymore. This is great news. However I don’t think he will do it and neither does Doris. But he is out having the time of his life with Maria Paz without his parents there to decide when he has to go home. He and Maria share their first kiss on the balcony of the palace.

The Prodigal Son Returns

Adan met with his father to tell him that he is moving out and he is not going to do the concert with him. Then he met with Mari separately. Mari is playing the victim and Adan totally calls her out on it. It’s like he’s gone from a teenager to a grown man in four days. Mari says he is making a big mistake. She also says it is time for her to let him fall down. Normally, this happens when a child is around two. But hey, better 25 years late than never, Mari. Mari has a breakdown over how much she will miss him. Adan says it’s not easy.

Just when you think that Mari was going to put her big girl panties on and be the grown up, she freaks out when he tells her he is not doing the concert. She repeatedly calls him stupid. She laughs at him. And that is where they leave us hanging.

OH NO! Next week is the finale! When we went past eight episodes I thought we would get twelve. Sadly, episode ten next week is the finale. I am going to miss this show. I shall try to get my final Mexican Dynasties Recap up as soon as possible!

Next week, Oscar introduces Tarek to his kids! He’s moving very fast! Maria Paz goes back home. Did Mari cast a dark spell on Adan? Fernando does his big concert. Will his sons take the stage?

I hope this show gets another season. It makes me laugh and cry every week. When Mari rewrote history, it was bad. But when she kept calling Adan stupid and laughing, my heart went out to him. We thought he was the manchild, but turns out he is the only ADULT of the Tripod.

I agree with Doris that Adan would benefit from vocal coaching. Not just to sound better, but to learn how to protect his “instrument.” Lots of great singers use coaches.

I haven’t laughed so hard about Lladro since AJ Soprano’s comeuppance.

100% agree with you! Adan drives me crazy with his delusional man-child ways. However, his MOTHER repeatedly calling him stupid and an idiot made my heart break. He handled it very well. One question, does Mari seem “medicated”? There is something off there.

I love this show. I record it and try to watch it live. Paulina’s reaction to the lladro prostitute story was everything.

Patty is wiser than any real housewife and helped Doris with her mother moving on, beautifully.
Oscar and his mother’s ornament as payment 😂.
I thought Adan had finally woken up to the weird dynamic but clearly not. This is my favourite show at the moment!

LOVE your recap TT and also love this show. I’ll be very disappointed if it is not picked up. Bravo can cancel a slew of the Housewives shows and they would never be missed but this one would be.

This is the show for me. I watch it live; I record it. Boo on bravo if they won’t give it a chance. Double boo that they won’t let me leave a comment on their site.

Mari and Fernando made Adan who he is. Now Adan is trying to mature and it is bothering them. Not shocked . I think Adan saw how he came across on the show and adjusted his behavior.

I actively search out stuff on the Madrazos. Tee shirt from the show? Dvd of the show? Not found a thing yet. But I love everything Madrazo. I love a kind, warm, healthy family.

Bessudos are interesting and I enjoy the mom-daughter interactions. My dog is named Kizzy (Kizmet) and when they call for their Gizzy, mine looks baffled at me. Just a side bit of fun.

    Mari a “witch”? Of course.

When Eve asks Carolyn why she looks so good “… it’s my moisturizer. Made of pig’s placenta. Costs a fortune and smells like ass.” Eve says, “I don’t mind smelling like arse.”

I normally roll my eyes at Adan but I felt bad when his mother tried to Gaslight him and manipulate him and he calmly called her out on it instead of taking the bait. The fact that any mother would call her son stupid is deplorable.

Great recap. I’m watching because they are loving families who are unintentionally hilarious. The staff are the true stars .

At first Mari and Fernando seemed fun. Completely delusional and narcissistic, but fun. Now they just seem so mean, petty, and thin-skinned. After seeing Mari insult Adan and cackle right in his face, and seeing Fernando’s pouting and scene-stealing ways I have a lot more sympathy and understanding for why Adan is the way he is and where his mean, petty streak comes from. I don’t know how Elan turned out so normal and empathetic, but I really like him and Jenny. I love how even though Adan has been a brat to them, they also understand he’s a product of his parents overbearing ways, and instantly supported him and took him in.

The Madrazos are so fun and have a great dynamic. I enjoy seeing the genuine love and humor that is shared between all 3 generations.

I’m probably the least invested in Doris and Raquel, but still like their banter and the relaxed vibe they give off.

feel like Adan was “living there” for filming. Also IMO Jenny and Elan are only there for filming season and tried living there and couldn’t deal. And Doris is also there just for filming and will be right back in Beverly Hills the second the cameras leave. I do believe that Paulina and Oscar are as codependent on each other as they appear.

And none of this bothers me.
