It is already time for the finale of Married To Medicine Los Angeles! There were only eight episodes in season one and the ratings were mediocre. They did average about a million viewers an episode, so that could be enough for a second season. We’ll just have to wait to see what the suits say. Let’s get on with the final Married to Medicine Los Angeles recap of the season.
First, apologies for the lack of recap last week. I think Game of Thrones knocked this off my DVR and I didn’t notice. Also, they don’t seem to be rerunning these episodes so that’s a bad sign for a possible season two.
I’m struggling to get into this episode. It’s all about resolving issues that were set up in the previous episodes and tying it up in a nice little bow.
Imani’s Resolution
Imani’s storyarc ends with her meeting her sister. Imani meets Jasmine and her son Tyson. It was full of happy tears. You can tell Imani really wants to reunite with her father. Later, they come to Imani’s house so their boys can get to know each other.
Shanique’s Resolution
Shanique is trying to portray the working supermom who does it all. The cameras on the other hand tell a slightly different story. Her husband would like for her to be the supermom. She wants to be a very busy career woman. It’s unclear how this will shakeout.
Robert and the kids make a big dinner for Shanique so that he can get back in her good graces after suggesting she quit her job.
Asha’s Resolution
Oh Asha, sweetie, it is great that you got a bit part on DOOL. This does not mean that you are going to be the next Denzel my dear. As we get older our goals and dreams need to shift a bit to more attainable expectations. I watch this show and it seems her scene was already on it and somehow I missed her one line. “Thank you so much for fighting for Salem.” Meanwhile she is trying to have a baby at “39.”
Britten’s Resolution
Britten claims she got a job in LA. I don’t believe her. I think she will be right back in Orlando the minutes the cameras leave. Oh, the job doesn’t start until next year. You know, when season two starts. If there is a season two. Meanwhile, she is going back to Orlando.
The Finale All Cast Party
Imani is hosting the finale party under the guise of some sort of black women in the medical community event. There is a “string quartet” with only three members.
Will Shanique and Asha put their differences aside tonight? Shanique is tired of apologizing to Asha. Asha is not willing to stop being the victim. So I suppose this resolution is unlikely.
Imani gives a speech about “seeing” everyone. I am annoyed that I immediately hear Nene Leaks shouting, “WE SEE EACH OTHA!” I don’t think that is quite the same meaning as tonight. Then, Imani and Asha give Britten a dog tag like the ones she gave all of them. Hers says “Switerland.” Because she is the one who is always trying to bring the ladies together. Britten says she is going back to Orlando for a year.
So what did y’all think of Married To Medicine Los Angeles? Do you want a season two?
Unfortunately I don’t see them getting a second season.
I agree with you on that. I tried week after week to give these ladies a chance hoping that something good will come from the show… Each week I was disappointed!! If there is a season two, I will not be on board with this train wreck??‼
I really enjoyed it. It beats a whole lot of other shite Bravo and E! have put us through. I got used to having those girls around. It was a lot better than the pitiful attempt at M2M Houston.
Nothing beats the M2M ATL girls though
There was a M2M Houston. See how much of am impact that left.
Yep, there was a M2M Houston. I watched it and thought is was just ok. I enjoyed these ladies a lot more than Houston. I agree this show is lot better than a lot of the other crap on Bravo and E! but it appears that the viewers who enjoy manufactured drama, financially challenged women pretending to be rich such as NeNe Leakes, Dorit , etc.out number us so shows like this die after season 1 and the Housewives cities that should’ve died seasons ago live on…sigh
I really liked these ladies! I hope they get a 2nd season. Shady Shanique may be my favorite besides Dr Britton. Fingers crossed!! Do you think they will get a reunion?
I hope so too Like the show
I really wanted to love this show because I love the original M2M, but I really can’t. I like it but dont love it. The “friendships” just dont seem very deep to me. I also watch DOOL and I remember the scene but not Asha. I dont think we even seen her face.
This one is soo very lame. Not 1 ya mama slur.
They’re getting a second season. Actually currently casting new wives.
These ladies are boring. Not one had an interesting storyline. M2M Houston was much better in my opinion
I like this show. I thought the downside was having the Contessa connection. Not a fan of hers.
Amen, something about Contessa just rubs me the wrong way.
For some reason eight episodes weren’t enough for these ladies to bond and for me to bond with them. I liked Britten the best. I liked Imani until the drug dealer comment. But I guess she was just bringing the drama. If there was a second season, I’m sure some dirt would come out about Jazmine and her husband. Shanique’s house is questionable. I know being a doctor doesn’t equate to wealth but something’s amiss here. I dunno, her voice and the way she speaks annoy me so I’m super judgmental about her. I liked the other doctor who was the dancer. I like her take on medicine and treatment. The other one – trying to be an actress and have a baby at 39 – good luck with that hunny. Live your dreams girl. Lol.
I’d like to see a season two just to see how things develop but there’s nothing there to develop really.
Thanks Pop Culture Kelly!
For me the Imani comment, was unneeded, especially since she works with a different clientele than Jazmin’s husband. He’s a Beverly Hills, Bel-Air shrink, as Imani works more with people within the city. As for drug dealer that was not what popped into my head, but rather shady shrink who may be playing a few games of blackmail, having private info in his “rich” clients.
I’d be surprised if they hit a season 2.
The only one I felt invested in was Britton. I couldn’t get with the other ladies because the relationships seemed contrived.
I also liked Imani until her reckless drug dealer comment. I was disappointed in how irresponsible she was about potentially damaging another black doctor’s livelihood, when she professed to be so down for their community.
Omg I saw a picture of Jazmine’s husband and he is HOT! I see why she didn’t want him filmed.
I watched the show, but mostly to see more of LA. I enjoyed the Houston series too. I’ve never been a fan of the Atlanta one though. I liked that they were almost all doctors. I think that may be what I didn’t like about ATL.
I still can’t believe I saw Asha on STAR. Especially after her who thing about being “sassy”, when she play the same role in that show. I felt though as if her and her husband are an artificial couple. Something about their chemistry seems way off, and I feel like the storyline with his ex, seemed forced and just a reason for Asha to be in the show.
Finale, already? That was 8 shows? I guess I missed more episodes than I thought. I kind of fell off after they started fighting, which was around episode 3. I’ve seen enough of those shows.
I would like to see them for another season… don’t think it’s fair for them to be cut off without an opportunity to move forward. I didn’t see nor was I interested in the “Thorns” program and don’t believe it was fair that this “Married to Medicine, Los Angeles” season should have been cut because I was really looking for it… It would be nice if we could continue seeing it. I am a native of Los Angeles and would appreciate if the program could be given another chance…. I would really like it. Thanks, Dr. Roz
I found the show interesting. Definitely Bravo should give M2M LA another go. Give the audience more time to bond with the cast.
