If ever there was a week that we needed Mexican Dynasties it is this one. I hope it’s an upbeat show that leads to a fun upbeat Mexican Dynasties recap! This week’s big all cast event is for the second anniversary of ¡Que Madrazo! Paulina and Oscar Madrazos TV show. The dress code is “Black and White Extravagance.” They tell everyone they call which sends the help into a frenzy. Enough with the “Black and White Extravaganza!” Muchlike Downton Abbey, the household help steals all the scenes.
La Familia Bessudo
Doris Bessudo has decided that her mother, Raquel needs a dog. Now that her father has passed she is not thrilled that Raquel is spending time with an old childhood friend who still carries a torch for her. Perhaps a dog will solve this problem. Raquel and Doris go to a park where there are lots of dogs available for adoption. Raquel asks the men, “Is this a Labrador?” about every single dog. None were Labradors or anything remotely similar. When Doris points this out to her mother, Raquel replies that she knows what Labradors are because she has had them all her life! “You had Golden Retrievers,” Doris tells her.
Doris is worried her mom will get serious with Sam. She talks to he mom about her representation of Adan. Adan has told her that no one in the world has perfect pitch when they sing live. They agree he is immature and uninformed because he is babied by his parents.
Later, while Raquel and Sam are on another date enjoying hot chocolate. Doris is drilling down Sam on the Internet. Raquel continues to brag and fish for compliments from Sam. Doris continues fishing to find something that would confirm her fears about Sam.
La Familia Allende
As Doris talks with her mother about Adan. We are treated to the usual coddling of Adan by his parents. Adan finally tells Mari and Fernando that they need to run anything they want to do regarding his business past Doris. She is his agent now and “she deserves her part” (Of the money). Mari is furious. My money is on Mari when it comes down to it. Doris is just in Mexico City for the show. She won’t be a good choice to represent Adan from Beverly Hills. Or will she? Perhaps she could get him work there?
Later Adan and Elan talk about how uncomfortable they were painting the model at his event. Adan said he just painted her hair. Elan said he painted her spine and her hand. As Elan says, it sounds like Adan actually enjoyed painting her quite a bit. Adan thinks the painted girl is interested in him.
Elan tries to talk sense to Adan about his issue with his mother with regard to his career. Elan tries to tell him that Mari needs to have some role that is separate from Doris. He tells Adan to talk to Doris about carving out something for Mari to be in charge of. I suggest his wardrobe.
A Blind Date For Adan
Jenny and Elan think Adan needs a girlfriend. So Jenny fixes him up with a close friend of hers from Paraguay, Maria. Also, Jenny reminds us that Adan was briefly married and seemed happy. Then Mari caused the divorce because she didn’t like the girl. I don’t think she will like any girl. She told Adan no one would sign him if he was married.
The Black and White EXTRAVAGANZA!
Mari Allende gifts Paulina and Oscar with gold-gilded crystals. Paulina tucks hers into her bra. I’d be very careful is I were them. Jenny is convinced that Mari is a witch and that is why she is constantly giving her odd jewelry. She never wears any of it. When she sees Paulina’s gift, she fills her in. Which is odd because unless Jenny has extra vision she would not have seen it in her bra. Hi, production! We are shown evidence from the Allende penthouse that Mari practices Santeria.
When Jenny, Elan and Maria Paz arrive, Adan seems immediately lovestruck. We get treated to his song again as Maria floats across the room and Adan blushes. If I knew Spanish I would know the words to this song. It is very catchy.
Oscar calls Tarek on Facetime. He is back in Brazil. It seems they are still a thing. Oscar misses him. He has deep feelings and sees a future with Tarek.
Adan and Maria Paz Hit It Off!
Meanwhile, Adan regales Maria with his many accomplishments. Whatever they are. He tells her how sensual and in touch with his emotions he is. Is this something guys say when they meet someone new? Despite all of that, they have a lot in common. Neither one of them drinks so that’s a nice common attribute.
Mari Is Not Happy
Over at Mari’s dinner table, she is being informed that Adan and Maria Paz seem very close and serious. Ut-Oh! Be careful, Maria! Mari says that this is not a good time for Adan to have a girlfriend. While he is working on his career, his girlfriend is a guitar.
Mari is still stewing about Maria Paz when Doris and Raquel arrive. She gives them both the fake housewives greeting with hugs and air kisses. They are late because it’s Yom Kippur and they had a dinner. Then Oscar and Paulina’s mom comes to chat up Raquel. I love these two together. They are both very feisty!
Doris Speaks Some Hard Truths
Immediately, Doris tries to talk to Mari. She doesn’t want to talk at the party and tries to put Doris off until the next day. But alas, that is not in the script. Doris says that Yom Kippur is all about atoning for your sins and being honest. She tells Mari that Adan was off pitch at his last performance. Mari says anyone can be off pitch at any time. She cites David Bowie and Mick Jagger as examples. See? This is where he gets it from!
Doris tells Mari that if she is going to represent Adan as a singer he needs more voice lessons. If not, then she can’t represent him as a singer. However, she has other ideas for how he could be successful. She tells Mari that she is not being objective when it comes to her son. Mari says he has had all sorts of music lessons since he was two years old. Mari is really pissed. She tells Fernando and Adan that they are leaving right now. Adan does what his mother tells him. He gets Maria’s number and leaves with his mommy and daddy.
Next week: Adan has a big fight with his parents. He tells them they are out. Fernando says Adan can leave. It’s Fernando’s house. Doris continues to obsess with her mother’s dating life. Maria Paz and Adan Allende realize it is their destiny to be together! Mari has a meltdown.
Thank you for recapping! I love this show.
I was laughing tears at Raquel and Sam’ s scene were Raquel was “churning” the hot chocolate. The facial expressions and music, it was like tame geriatric porn.
I hope there is a season 2.
LOL, that’s the perfect description! I love this show. The delusions are deep for Mari, Fernando and Adan but that’s part of the comedic charm of this show.
I hope there’s a 2nd season too!
After a while I was getting uncomfortable with the churning. Like okay! It was made even more awkward with the waiter hanging around too.
The churning was erotic and hilarious all at once. The waiter seemed at a loss as to how to stop it.
I loved the churning moment!!!! So awkward. Agree 100% with all the descriptions here. That along with “you thought I was special? I need you to tell me more about that” had me cracking up.
Another great episode. Adan’s immaturity is hysterical. He needs to grow up. I don’t think his voice is good enough to make it big. I knew a guy just like Adan. He thought his good looks would be enough to get a record deal. That was in the ’80’s. He is still pursuing his dreams. He is 57 years old. Delusional.
I love this show. I heard Andy Cohen on his radio show say that Adan is exactly the same in person as he is on the show (he and Elan recently bartended on WWHL) and AC also said that lots of people love the show (including Rihanna who Tweeted about it). Hopefully enough people like it that it means they will get another season. I thought Southern Charm Savannah was a s–tshow and was shocked when it got a second season.
But, everyone is different.
I am commenting to show appreciation for this awesome show that apparently not enough people are watching.
Keep the recaps coming as a lot of us lurkers live for them.
Thanks for delurking Michelle! Some comment sections here can be a bit brutal but this isn’t one of those! 🙂
Jenny should have introduced Maria to Adan: “Here is my brother in law, he is a delusional man-baby who thinks he is more talented than he is. Oh, and his mother will hate you.”
I love this show, always entertaining.
You just know that Mari had to get home in a hurry to cast some spells on Doris AND Maria Paz. lol.
Love love love this show. This is true reality. The Mexicans are so passionate, close and truthful with each other. They can easily go to an extreem with their passion pertaining to their family. Love all the characters on the show also and have met several Mexican families that have a member exactly like Adan who is older and still living under the roof of their snowplow parents.
TT please keep giving your rave reviews of this show and I hope your audience responds favorably also. We
must keep this show going.
The absolute best show on Bravo!!! No made up drama, no fake annoying people, ugggh like RHOA, RHOBH, RHONY. I’m so over these shows. Hopefully we see a season 2. It’s the only show on Bravo that literally makes me breakout in laughter, it’s so hilarious. They can’t make up this stuff it’s just so real, silly, these families are great.
This show is just great mindless fun! And, it’s fun to know I’m not the only one enjoying it!
IIRC you also liked Imposters. Over. 🙂 You have good taste in TV. Over.
Just want to also cast my vote …. LOVe this show …. Just in case anyone is keeping track.
Really enjoy watching the families. They all love each other so much. And I too have laughed out loud!
Thanks for recapping!!
