We begin with Carl Radke talking to his mom over the phone. She is his best friend and his best redeeming quality. He vents about work while she listens like a good mom does. Speaking of parents, Hannah Berner’s father comes by the house to meet the crew. Lindsay Hubbard informs Hannah’s dad that her mission is to “girlify” her. Hannah does not want to be girlified by Lindsay. Hannah is offended that Lindsay would say something like that, especially to her dad. That’s not a great way to end the weekend Lindsay.
Oh Hey! They Do Have Jobs! Sort Of…
As a reminder that some of these people actually have jobs, we get a montage of the Summer House gang working in the city. Amanda Batula takes a phone call from Kyle Cooke to discuss their business venture “Loverboy.” Kyle is excited to launch their drink. He’s also ready to up their commitment level by finding an apartment together. Amanda is still not over her argument with Kyle. She is holding firm to her promise that if he messes up again, they are through.
Pancakes And Butterflies
Carl Radke and Paige DeSorbo meet for their highly anticipated first date. Carl arrives first and decides to order food for the both of them. It is sweet how nervous he is over this date. Paige is impressed that he took the initiative to order the food, especially pancakes which are her favorite. In her talking head, Paige states that she is basically “trying Carl on”. She is not sure how she feels about him yet, but Carl is pretty smitten. Showing off his mad sales skills, he attempts to lock in the second date whilst still on the first date. Paige does not commit, rather takes the we will figure it out approach. Carl has met his match people!
We get a brief Lindsay Hubbard therapy session. She has been working since she was 14. She is focused on her career, not so much her love life. They discuss her relationship with ex boyfriend Everett Weston. She feels that once they broke up she could focus on building up her business. Her business has taken off, but her personal life has slowed down a lot. She is aware that she and Everett are not good for each other. Now she just has to stop hooking up with him whenever they bump into each other. No more Everett! #Neverett.
Same Book, Different Pages
Jordan Verroi, Carl Radke, Paige DeSorbo and Hannah Berner drive to the Hampton’s together on a summer Friday. Danielle Olivera is not coming until tomorrow, which leads Hannah to ask Jordan if he and Danielle are okay. Jordan does not know and does not really care. Because, douchecanoe. Amanda Batula, Kyle Cooke and Lindsay Hubbard arrive together. Lindsay notes that Kyle and Amanda seem like they are getting along better. Paige fills in Lindsay and Amanda on her date with Carl. Paige downplays the date as more of two friends hanging out. Ouch. This may not end well for Carl.
They head out for dinner and drinking. The girls ride in one car, the guys in another. Both Kyle and Amanda discuss their fight from last week. Amanda has put her foot down which leaves Kyle sufficiently scared. They arrive at the restaurant where Lindsay wastes no time insulting Hannah’s look. Lindsay keeps digging at her lack of femininity. Just shut up already, Lindsay Hubbard. No one asked you to comment on our Hannah. We love her just the way she is!
Danielle Has A Blank Space Baby….And She Will Write Jordan’s Name
Danielle then Facetimes the gang from a Taylor Swift concert. Kyle feels that Danielle may be avoiding the Hamptons due to Jordan being a horrible person. Kyle asks him straight out if he really made out with three girls. Jordan insists that he did. Hannah could care less. She is entertained by his stories, real or not. Carl says that Jordan has been taking a lot of heat, so he will take some of that off him. He confesses that he lost his job. He is humiliated, but could not hide it any longer. Everyone is super supportive and rallies around him.
Back at the house, Carl and Paige get in the hot tub. They make out a bit but that is all. Paige does not have sympathy sex, people. The next morning Hannah goes to Jordan’s room to discuss Lindsay’s rudeness to her. Jordan thinks Lindsay is jealous of Hannah’s confidence, which God help me I agree with. Lindsay is planning a “St. Bart’s” party later that evening. She enlists Paige’s help to set up. She mostly wants to warn Paige that Carl is in a precarious emotional place with losing his job. Paige reluctantly agrees to go, as spending alone time with Lindsay seems daunting.
Danielle arrives at the house, floating on cloud 9. While at the Taylor Swift concert, Taylor Swift’s mom invited Danielle and her friends backstage to meet Taylor. She could care less about meeting Jordan’s parents, she met Taylor Swift’s mom! Hannah takes Lindsay aside to talk about Lindsay’s “feminine” comments. Hannah explains how hurtful they are as she was teased for being too masculine growing up. Lindsay tells Hannah that she never meant to tear her down. Lindsay was a tomboy growing up but does not really explain why she targeted Hannah’s looks? They hug it out anyway, so the beef is officially squashed.
Lindsay and Paige arrive at the St. Bart’s party. It’s all set up and ready to go. Lindsay now says she is not working the event, yet is representing a client there? I’m confused. Anyway, the girls order drinks. Lindsay asks how things are going with Carl. Paige states she is not sure yet how she feels about Carl. She wants to meet someone and marry by the age of 30. Back at the house, Carl tells Jordan that he and Paige are right for each other. Boy they are setting Carl up for some serious heartbreak this season.
Hangin On By A String
The gang arrives at the St. Bart’s party. They all start drinking and mingling. Lindsay Hubbard gets hit on by a gentleman she had met four years prior. He never ended up pursuing her. He does not remember that, but Lindsay finds it funny. She thinks he is hot so she is going for it. The other girls, including Amanda, hunt for good looking men. Kyle tells Lindsay and Jordan how excited he is to move in with Amanda. Amanda is happy to play wing woman for Hannah. Carl and Paige discuss their burgeoning non-relationship. Kyle confesses that he likes her. Paige only confesses to like being courted. Paige rocks. Keep being your minxy little self Miss Paige!
The gang heads back to the Summer House after a successful night of drinking. Amanda is touched that Kyle spent the night holding her handbag and not 50 bottles of alcohol. Paige tells Hannah and Amanda about Carl professing his feelings for her, but she cannot return them at this point. Hannah points out that Paige is still seeing other men and is not ready to settle down yet. Carl tells Kyle that he envisions lots of double dates with him and Amanda. Kyle Cooke knows Paige is not on that track. He truly fears that his friend will wind up heartbroken.
Next week on Summer House: Yay, we get a huge Christmas in July party! Hannah invites one of her guys to the Summer House. Danielle and Paige have an interest in the same guy. Paige overhears Lindsay telling Carl to move the hell on.
