This Sunday, Killing Eve returns on BBC America at 8 p.m. I can barely contain my excitement,I am so freaking excited. I am going to have to rewatch the entire last season. And,I never rewatch things. But, I will rewatch this.
I really hope all of you who watched last season will be back to talk to be about the episodes with me. It is so nice to have some quality programming discussed on this site. I might even be less grumpy about recapping the Misogyny Network shows.
You should never call a psychopath a psychopath. It upsets them.
If you haven’t watched the first season, you still have time. You can watch season one on the website, or check your On Demand and you may find the season there. You do not need a login or anything to watch on the BBC website here.
For the soon to be obsessed, here is basically what Killing Eve is about. From my previous posts:
Killing Eve was adapted from novellas by Luke Jennings by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The series stars Sandra Oh as Eve whose relatively mundane job as a security officer with the MI5 (It’s kind of like the British CIA) comes to an end during the first episode after …shall we say a particularly bad day at the office. Eve is obsessed with serial killers in a psycho way, and there is a female serial killer on a murderous spree across Europe that she is trying to track down. The assassin, Villanelle, is expertly played by Jodie Comer. Both Eve and Villanelle appear to have some deep psychological problems.
I’m going to kill you nicely.
There can be a lot of blood, there were five murders in the first episode, but it’s really more fascinating than it is overly gory. And I laughed out loud a couple of times in the first episode, and I rarely laugh out loud at things on TV. The humor is just so unexpected and often delivered in a dead panned manner it catches you off guard.
Also, the fashion alone is a reason to watch this episode. Villanelle is a fashionista who will surprise you withe her wardrobe every single episode. I’ve got to make sure our resident fashionista, CJ Bomb knows about this show. She would love it. Also, the show is set in Paris, London and Amsterdam and shot in some of the most amazing places.
But then I’m going to make a mess of your body afterward so it looks worse than it is.
Now I’m going to talk about Season 2 for a bit so if you don’t want to know anything about the plot. Stop reading here and go watch episode one. It is one of the more violent. But stick with it.
God, it’s amazing how efficient things are when you’re a dick to people.
Here is the last paragraph of my recap of the finale of season one:
As soon as Villanelle gets there she quickly calms down and the sexual tension is everywhere. Eve goes on a long rant about how she thinks of Villanelle all the time. Villanelle says she thinks about her when she masturbates. Eventually the both lay on the bed and talk. Eve asks if she is going to kill her, Villanelle says no. And just when you think they are going to makeout, Eve knifes her in the gut. Eve quickly regrets it and goes to get a towel to help with the blood. But when she comes back, the old lady spy across the hall tells Eve, “She has gone.”
Season two begins 30 seconds after the final episode of the first season as Eve is reeling and Villanelle has disappeared. Eve has no idea if the woman she stabbed is alive or dead, and now both of them are in deep trouble. Eve has to find Villanelle before someone else does, but unfortunately, she’s not the only person looking for her.
“Sometimes when you love someone you will do crazy things.”
In the trailer for season two, we see Villanelle escaping from a hospital by sliding into scrubs and some Crocs. She can barely contain her disdain sticking her fancy feet in used Crocs. Eve is shown receiving a funeral arrangement that spells out her name.
I look forward to some discussion on a higher level than we have seen in a while. See you as soon as possible after the airs on Sunday. I have to pay the bills first and for the first three episodes, I’ll have to cover the three-part RHOA reunion. So PLEASE don’t spoil me. I promise this is a high priority for me even if it isn’t for the site. And these recaps take time and thought and may even be spelled properly with all the people called by the right name. What? It could happen!
