We start off where we left off last week. Imani Walker is questioning Jazmin Johnson’s husband’s actual career. Is he a drug dealer? Shanique Drummond says absolutely not. Britten Cole feels that her house has a Scarface-esque look but is more a throw back to the 80’s. In her talking head Imani doubles down. She warns Jazmin to get lawyered up. Imani wants all the ladies to get together for a “truth” session. Thank you ladies, 4 minutes in and you’re already delivering.
What’s For Lunch?
Next, Asha Blankinship goes to visit Noelle Reid at her house. They discuss the doll party. Asha is still upset with Shanique for inviting Larry Blankinship’s ex. She believes she is owed an apology. Noelle thinks it’s petty on Shanique’s part but is hopeful Imani’s event will bring Asha some resolution.
Later, Shanique makes Jamaican dumplings with her kids. Her daughter is mostly excited to go back to school for the lunch break. I have never identified more with a child. Awe we learn she was bullied last year, so that explains her hesitance to go back. Robert Drummond says that he dealt with his bullies by slamming one of the bully’s heads on the ground. The kids aren’t sure how to take that but Robert is proud of himself.
A Woman’s Work Is Never Done…
Britten gets a video call from her super hot husband Mack Major and their kids. Mack is trying to control the chaos but the kids outnumber him. They are both frustrated by the house hunting process. It seems Mack doesn’t like anything Britten has found. Mack wonders if Britten is purposely dragging her feet which Britten firmly denies.
Then Noelle takes her daughter uniform shopping for her new private school. Her daughter is confident about starting a new school. Noelle is nervous that there won’t be much diversity at the new school. Noelle just wants her to get the best education she can.
Later on, Asha goes for a reading at the Days of our Lives studio. Asha wants to bring her career to the next level. She reads with executive producer Greg Meng, who wants her to read the lines in a “sassier” way. Asha takes exception the word “sassy” as it implies she should be “blacker”. I honestly cannot tell how it went but hope she gets the part.
One The Roof, It’s Peaceful As Can Be…
The next day, Imani’s get together is happening. Imani reserved the entire rooftop of the Everly Hotel for just the ladies. It looks gorgeous. Imani feels that her being a psychiatrist has properly trained her for dealing with inter-group issues. Imani is wearing very short shorts with a crop top and duster. It is an interesting look. Britten opens up to Imani about her issues with Mack. Britten feels that Mack is having issues being in a non traditional parenting role while Britten is out of the house working. Imani agrees.
Next we see Shanique and Jazmin DWTS (drive while talking shit) to Imani’s get together. Jazmin and Shanique both shade Britten and Imani by saying they work too much to care what goes on with their children and husbands. Shanique tells Jazmin what Imani said about her house. Jazmin states that Imani does not know how to deal with a rich person’s zip code. Side note: Is it wrong to wish they would drive off and never return? Unfortunately they arrive to the hotel.
No Hug For You!
Imani greets them warmly but Jazmin won’t hug Imani. They all sit down for dinner then get ushered over to comfy couches. Imani starts the discussion by saying she wants everyone to be open and honest with their feelings. Shanique feels she did right by Asha by telling her that her husband’s ex Anisa was going to be at the party. Noelle calls Shanique the great deflector. She says there should not have been a woman at the party more important than her.
Then Shanique says Noelle has no brain of her own. Shanique then calls Asha a puppet master. It is a lot of Shanique talking over everyone while Asha tries to get a word in. Britten sees both sides of the ladie’s issues with each other. Shanique then gets low down when she tries to do some math with Asha and Larry’s relationship. Asha and Larry have been together six years but Larry was in communication with Anisa four years ago. Shanique is inferring that Larry cheated. Asha gets up and leaves which thus ends the show.
Next week on Married to Medicine LA : Imani is shivering with anger after talking to Jazmin. Asha and Larry are in a hot tub discussing Larry’s alleged infidelity. Noelle’s daughter has issues at her new school. Imani and Phil discuss Jazmin’s house. Next week, looks like another great episode. Hope to see you all then!
