I should preface this post by stating, I’m not a music person. I will pause while y’all collect yourselves. Since I spend so much time recapping TV shows the TV is rarely off. So I don’t listen to a lot of music anymore. I hate going to places where music is played, like grocery stores and shopping malls, because it can really effect my mood. I have a hard time following conversations when music is playing in the background. Anyway, this is just a disclaimer to say that I don’t know what I am talking about when it comes to music. But this post is mostly about Bobby Brown and to a degree Ron Devoe. And mostly I have a question.
So RBRM was on The View this morning. For those who don’t know, RBRM is a combination of former members of Bell Biv Devoe and New Edition. Back in the day, I listened to a lot of music and loved both groups.
Tenderoni!
So for me it was great to hear Tenderoni and Poison this morning(ish). Yeah I get it. Bobby’s voice is shot, but I thought all things considered he did better than I have seen him in the past. They sang the first song sitting on stools, and that was because of Bobby. Eventually they got up and swayed a bit like the old people they are. But I loved being transported back to the day. RBRM is currently on tour.
But my question is…did anyone else see Bobby Brown shaking so hard that he tried to cover it up by double fisting the mike? He looks really bad. He can’t dance anymore and it is very sad to see him try in concerts. What was up with that shaking? Was he coming off a bender last night? Does anyone know? It was kind of sad, yet expected.
Also in RHOA news, Ronny Devoe was asked by superfan Meghan McCain about the open marriage situation. He told her that it was a period that they worked through and they have been through counseling and things are great with them. Ronny was very well-spoken on the show, handled questions well and came off very well. His experience in the business really showed. And then when the ladies came back on stage, he reached out his hand to help Joy Behar up the stairs as well as Abby, who is very pregnant. That just made me love him. He also spoke very highly of Shamari, and gave her a birthday shoutout. He was a class act.
But what is going on with Bobby Bobby though? Did anyone watch?
I am glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed him shaking, and then putting his other hand on the mic to keep it steady. That was wild and sad, but better than I expected? I loved how all the guys seemed to love Shamari when they mentioned it was her birthday. So glad Meghan is a Bravo fan (sometimes).
I didn’t see it, but it sounds like Parkinson’s……..or a side effect of the stroke?
I’m thinking alcohol withdrawal. Probably tied to be sober for the performance and didn’t get his morning “fix”.
It was said he stopped the coke but kept drinking. I was thinking childi is this all alcoholism or is it mixed with Parkinson’s.
As a nurse, I believe it looks like alcohol withdrawal. Very sad.

I taped it and saw it. Definitely shaking.
I saw them in November. They all danced, real dance moves, no old man shuffle. Bobby was holding his own with the other guys, dancing along with them. There was no stool used at all. He sang pretty well. It was a fun show. He
didn’t have any noticeable issues that night.
His behavior on the View makes me sad. I suspect Bobby has fallen off the sobriety wagon. His past issues were drug related, not just alcohol.
I know he has a supportive family and friends, so I’m optimistic he will recover.
I like Ronnie even more after this interview. I am a sucker for a gentleman who treats women well.
I used to judge potential mates by how they treated the women they were NOT interested in. If their chivalry only applied to me, the first date was the last date.
I’m a huge New Edition fan. I didn’t see the view today. But I’ve seen plenty of interviews with them. All of the guys give great interviews. You can tell they’ve een doing this since they were in elementary school. I’m sad about Bobby. I heard he was great on the tour this past summer.
A few years ago he was on a celebrity weight loss show. He drank himself into oblivion almost every night.
Watched on YouTube and Bobby was definitely shaking. He seemed bloated about the face as if on steroids…allegedly.
Bobby has already suffered two strokes I believe. I hope he’ll be okay. He’s been through a lot. I love Shamari and Ronnie. I’ve been watching some of their promo interviews and they come across really well. Plus I really enjoy her on RHOA. I wish they’d show her more and less about Nene and Porsha.
I honestly thought Bobby’s dentures were about to slip right out of his mouth.
TT, don’t believe store song mix is real music, I don’t get to music venues a lot so it was nice seeing them together.Bobby’s got clean before he can do it again if it happens before it kills him. He showed up, his band looked supportive of him so here is to hoping all will be well.
It’s been so cold out here it lasts all day, snowed in Sth. California yesterday. A light sprinkle in Malibu.
Wow! I’ve been so focused on our situations here in Northern AZ I didn’t realize the snow in CA! Snow in Malibu? I’ve worked 7 straight days switching from days to nights Wed when the situation became serious Wed night (I stayed put knowing our rural staffing was going to struggle to get in to work). I live in Flagstaff but work in Winslow, just a crazy storm! Today is beautiful and sunny but still this am I-40 east and west was closed from Flagstaff to the NM border for 5ish hours. Now it’s really cold. Crazy!!!
Omg, who still watches this awful show? I don’t have time for a n your long political tirade. Awful people, awful show.
Whose long political tirade? I’m not trying to be rude, I just don’t quite understand your comment.
I think she meant to say, “an hour long political tirade.”
His shaking may have been caused by antidepressants, including SSRIs. I think I read before that he is on antidepressants or mood stabilizers. The meds that stop the tremors often cause EXTREME dehydration, which would make it VERY difficult to sing (and to talk). Even though it would suck to have shakes caused by meds, at least it would be because he was trying to take care of himself.
Losing his daughter seems to have devastated him. I just read a repost by Kristoff St. John, “Grieving the loss of a child is a process. It begins on the day your child passes and ends the day the parents join them.” Sad, and true and for some of my favorite posters on TT.
I’m really sad about Kristoff St. John!!! I had no idea what his personal loss was prior to his death. I am a Y&R follower, I’m sure my DVR is hip deep with episodes, if I ever get home to watch….I love him so much on Y&R, only can imagine how difficult his struggle has been! RIP.
The members of New Edition have always been a class act. I saw them last summer and they were amazing! I have followed the achievements of this group for decade s. It sounds like you expected otherwise.
I didn’t see this episode so I missed the performance, as I too have discontinued watching ‘The View’ due to an excessive amount of bickering & constant arguing for my liking. However, I’m saddened to hear about how Bobby appeared. I hope & pray he can gain recovery if he is suffering from any substance abuse and pray for his well being all the way around.
He was probably withdrawing from alcohol. Hes had a drinking problem for a while.
He could be simply nervous. I also saw their show last year and it was great. I love the music and the way these brothers support one another. Bobby is a Legend no matter what.
Yeah, this wasn’t nerves. He’s been peforming for several decades.
