RuPaul is set to announce the Season 4 winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars tonight. The All Stars franchise is notoriously tricky. Nothing in Season 1 made sense. Season 2 was plagued by favoritism (RoLaskaTox) and bribery (insert snake emoji). In most circles, it’s still not safe to mention Season 3. What does that leave for Season 4’s legacy? Farrah Moan fell. Gia Gunn was a bully. Production ruined Snatch Game. Latrice Royale was delusional. The Lady Bunny made her Drag Race debut. The bottom four tore up the runway against the eliminated queens. Then pulled on our heartstrings with their irl friends and family. It’s time to move past last week’s snooze fest (and Manila Luzon’s controversial elimination). RuPaul is throwing a party and I RSVP’d for you. Warning: This post (and comments) could contain Drag Race spoilers
Tonight, the All Stars vie for a place in Drag Race Hall of Fame. In order to keep those residual checks flowing, the final four queens must write and perform a verse for RuPaul’s song “Super Queen.” And the night won’t be complete without a visit to the “What’s the T” podcast with RuPaul and Michelle Visage. Because branding is what? Fundamental.
