Marinate on that.
He just posted on Instagram, “WOW! This is my son, Benjamin Allen Cohen. He is 9 lbs 2 ounces!! 20 inches!! Born at 6:35 pm, PT. He is named after my grandfather Ben Allen. I’m in love. And speechless. And eternally grateful to an incredible surrogate. And I’m a dad. Wow. ♥️🌈 ”
The post has been up for just over and hour and there already nearly 400 thousand likes. The housewives have flooded my timeline and there are half a dozen of these photos being shared. Kandi Burruss even shared from inside the Big Brother house. Okay, it was probably her social media manager, but still. The housewives are going crazy!
Congrats, Andy Cohen Good Luck…
WOW. Best of luck baby Benjamin
Wasn’t he doing WWHL tonight? He seemed so weird. More than usual.
Maybe from lack of sleep or just annoyed he wasn’t with his newborn?
congratulations to Andy and his new sweet baby boy Benjamin. I believe he will be a doting daddy. The only thing that has worried me since he announced he was going to be a father…was his dog Wacca. That dog has been known to be unpredictable and had bitten multiple people. I so hope Andy has taken this into consideration and keeps a constant eye on that dog.
Lauren, I’m an inconstant Radio Andy listener. I sometimes miss his show because my schedule doesn’t always match up and I forget that I can get it On Demand (but I do love it).
This summer Wacha quietly was sent to camp – Brandon McMillan has been Wacha’s trainer and he’s also got the show “Lucky Dog”. He’s a Hollywood animal trainer who has been on WWHL too. I have read about a few of his tips – and I LOVE he’s rehabbed rescue dogs to be support services animals.
Nothing was said – but I firmly believe that Wacha was flown clear to California to spend extensive time with Brandon to work with his issues so that he’d be safe with the coming baby. Andy didn’t say so – he just referenced missing his dog a lot, and that a friend with a plane had volunteered to fly Wacha home.
Wacha also clearly has beloved caretakers when Andy is out of town (I don’t follow famous people on Insta – except for three. Elizabeth Gilbert, Gloria Vanderbilt, and Wacha. The person who is caring for Wacha (and may have access to his account) has a cat (there was a picture recently). It is obvious that they love Wacha too as the cat and W. were on a bed together. I firmly believe that if Benjamin and Wacha are not a good fit – Andy will make sure that Wacha is well placed with people who adore him. He will NOT be “up for adoption” again at some horrid shelter.
Sounds like he realizes this could be an issue. I know when he first got Wacha his plan was for him to be in the clubhouse most nights. But when he bit numerous guests…he became too much of a liability. He bit one of his guests because Wacha felt the guest was going to take his toy/treat. We all know toddlers are known for grabbing everything off of everyone. Unless he has made leaps and bounds progress with this trainer, Wacha very likely will snap as he did to his clubhouse guest.
That being said, can’t wait to see pics of this sweet chubby baby.
Brandon McMillan (Lucky Dog) trained Wacha. He often says it’s much easier to train a dog than the dog’s owner. The owner needs to maintain discipline and routine and reinforce the training.
I hope that when Andy was in L.A. before the birth that HE went to Lucky Dog Ranch for some remedial obedience training.
case
Case in point Kim Richards.
That was my first thought. A dog is no better trained than the master, and I just don’t see Andy being either consistent or even an adult, frankly. I worry about the dog and the child.
Honestly, one of the biting issues was the person’s fault. Talking about Rick Springfield here. He grabbed Wacha and roughly rubbed his ears. I GET IT… I give my folks dog a rough lovin’ every time I see him (ruffle his ears, pat his side, squeeze his neck, kiss his face – but my parents have a lab that they’ve raised since he was 8 weeks. Labs get some body pounding on them and they’re all “oh my god you love me!”.
But Wacha has had some trauma. Rick was a fucking idiot. I NEVER EVER do that do a dog I know has triggers, or that I don’t know!
I think there were some other triggers at the Clubhouse that made Andy decide that bringing Wacha in wasn’t good.
That’s from food aggression. If a dog has ever gone without or had to fight for food with other dogs. It’s hard to get them over it. You can tell the diff. from dogs who have never gone hungry and those who have.
They think that Wacha might have been beaten a time or two as well.
THANK YOU for mentioning Brandon McMillan. He will tell Andy if he finds ANY SIGN in Wacha of aggression toward the baby. Likely he will have Wacha spend time with a blanket with Baby Benjamin’s scent while Wacha is being praised and rewarded. Brandon will NOT allow a dangerous dog around a baby. Brandon is the best. And he is cute. And single. I wish he were still with Alana, though.
I bought his book and gave it to my Dad. I don’t think he’s read it yet – his dog is nothing like Wacha, but he’s strong and when he pulls on the leash, look out!
This made me teary. I love it when a baby comes into this world so wanted and loved. Love the baby’s name!!!
Erica, Yes. I find it strange all the doubts or questions in here about Andy”s awareness. I’m not a huge fan of his shows but I admire how he worked his way up to where he is today, He will raise a child with awareness and a child who will be introduced to varied people, ideas and without most prejudices many American children are exposed to. Americans have a tendency to be narrow minded and suspicious of different cultures. Europe with how countries border each other have a different attitude than we do. Guessing Andy’s son will be raised more in the European style, that is a good thing.
Agreed. People on here will fawn over a reality star with a terrible life having a child but somehow Andy is judged more? He has the means and he does have some great people around him so why should he get raked over the coals?
I adore the name he chose for his son! So classic and it lends itself to nicknames should Andy choose that route. Baby Benjamin was a hoss too! I feel that surrogate’s pain but big ole tater babies are just the cutest!! Okay, I think most babies are the cutest but I’m a sap beneath my cold Grinch heart exterior.
Tater babies! OMG, know exactly what kind of baby you are talking about!
I’ll never regret not having kids… but I can nom nom nom on baby fat rolls as an honorary auntie or cousin all day long (until they fill their diaper or lose their shit crying – then they are back to mom or dad or grandma who find that shit adorable!)
Babies are magic, I hope he gets some rest.
I’m sure labor was exhausting.
That was funny.
Um, yeah exactly Tamara! Unless I’m mistaken, Andy spent only minutes with the baby (the photo he posted on Instagram), before rushing to the Hollywood clubhouse to tape WWHL Monday night! Either that, or he taped it while his son was being born?! Either way, it’s not exactly what I’d expect from a new father! Especially when he’s the only custodial parent as far as I know. And it’s not like he HAS to work, like my father did!
I’m happy for Andy that the baby is healthy, but I hope for Benjamin’s sake that I’m mistaken about his dad’s cavalier reaction to his birth.
Love it TT ! How long do you think Andy pushed? 🙂
Hope he finds all that he’s searching for in fatherhood !
This is happy news and an adorable photo. Thank you. 🐣
Congratulations, Andy! That picture is just adorable. I Iove the name Benjamin.
I just had my baby this weekend too – was I his surrogate??
I’m happy for Andy. I hope this brings out a softer side of him. Maze!!!!
Congrats to Andy!
I love chubby babies as well.
Hope this will be the end of Andy’s inappropriate games on WWHL, i.e., guessing what is under the towel of half naked men in their underwear, stuffing things in their crotches, etc. for guests to guess what is under there. YUCK! I don’t like it when Rupaul parades men around in their underwear either.
Plus, Andy asks sexually inappropriate questions to his guests, too. Hope that shit stops.
If his mom squeaks the horn, it’s inappropriate, so listen to Gramma!
He didn’t die, he just procreated! The games don’t bother me, and his show is successful and paying for that kid’s stuff.
Cutte name. I like it when people pick old family names. I hope this baby settles Andy down..
Congratulations to Andy and his family. I bet his parents are over the moon. Andy has been living with friend Bruce Bozze (owner of The Palm’s) who used a surrogate for his daughter Ava before he married. I wonder how long Andy plans to stay in CA? Smart he banked WWHL shows. Mazel to Andy and Benjamin.
Mazel tov! Welcome to the world, Benjamin.
There is NOTHING about Andy Cohen that screams “Father!!” to me. Just sayin. That said, parenthood is life changing. I guess we will see what happens. SWIDT??!!
I agree and am worried that he will lose interest once all the baby love and media attention die down and he realizes that a child interferes with your social life, especially if you are a single parent. A baby is not an accessory and needs a parent who can put his (the baby’s) interests first. Sorry, this doesn’t sound anything like Andy Cohen.
Accessory was my first thought!! Like he was like “Hmmm, maybe I should get a baby??” IDK. I certainly hope that he is wonderful at it and it’s a beautiful thing. It WILL be the most difficult undertaking he ever makes!! Mazel!!
Ah, I follow him on social media and on the radio – I guess I’ve heard about his goddaughter, his niece and nephew (there might be more than one), and how patient he is with Wacha enough where I have no doubts. Kind of like knowing Jeff Lewis would be patient and loving to his kiddo b/c of how he is with animals. They are pretty patient with Monroe – and that kid’s Velociraptor scream would drive me insane. (Seriously, Jurassic Park movie marathon this weekend… for the next Jurassic World they can just hire Monroe to do the sound effects.)
Congrats to Andy. Here’s hoping that he lays off the drugs and one night stands with Thots etc. Andy treats our Eueen Kenya like sh*t so I’m not a fan.
Thoughts and prayers for Baby Benjamin.
