I am so excited for this episode. Things have been super busy at Tamara Tattles this week, so it is taking me a lot longer than I would have liked to get to see this episode. Unfortunately, these recaps don’t get a great big number of views so I have to focus on all the major drama going on in the world first and sneak this show in when I can. If it was up to me we’d be talking about his and some of my other non-reality shows all day, but if I did that I couldn’t afford my giant grocery bill that all of this healthy shit I am eating to stay sane costs me.
It looks like this season they are just going to pick a house for them and avoid all the drama of seeing multiple, (probably fake) options. But first they are going to spend a night at one or the other of their current abodes.
Kristine & Keith
Since Keith lives with his grandma, and Kristine lives with her parents this will be interesting. Kristine will be shacking up with Grandma it seems. Keith is really big on having someone to feed him. I feel like he would be unable to feed himself if let to his own devices. His room is a disaster. Kristine insists on a hotel.
When Pastor Cal shows up Keith basically says things are going great even though he asked for a tall woman with a big butt. Give it twenty years, Keith. I promise her but will get bigger. He tells us via confessional, he is happy with his wife being “fun size.” Sigh. When they talk about finances, Jasmine makes the most money. Jasmine says she is going to handle the finances. Kristine is not happy that he doesn’t make much money but he is going to school to make more money in the future. Pastor Cal is concerned that Kristine is handling finances and doing all the cooking and cleaning. He says there is trouble down the road for these two. Keith seems to want to be taken care of. About intimacy, I think they are lying and they have been intimate. Pastor Cal gives them permission to have sex.
During packing, Kristine decides what clothes Keith can bring and which ones need to stay with Grandma. Keith has to work the night shift on their first night and she is sad.

Stephanie & AJ
AJ’s place is super tiny. AJ explains how important it is to have a home where someone will eat dinner with him. Again, men and food.
Stephanie takes AJ to a lot of the museums and touristy places he has never been. AJ talks a lot about random things. This seems like a fun date. They seem happy and are still very much in the honeymoon phase. I can’t help but be concerned about AJ’s simmering anger issue that we saw on the last episode.
Pastor Cal talks to these two about finances. They talked about finances on day two and they are both in agreement. They make the same pay. AJ was worried that she would be pissed because apparently his haircuts are very expense. Who knew? These two have had no arguments and agree on all the big things. They even have a plan for how to deal with arguments. This seems too perfect to me.
Stephanie and AJ argue about how his dresser should be moved. She says they need to empty the drawers and pack them separately, he says the movers will tape the drawers shut and move the whole thing. She isn’t even arguing with him, she’s just telling them that in the past she had to empty her drawers for the movers. He gets pissy. She becomes uncomfortable. Apparently, the reason AJ eats alone every night is because he is an asshole with anger issues. He also mentions that he might want to come back and spend the night in his apartment at some point. She just agrees with him but now she is seething inside.
Jasmine & Will
Jasmine and her dog Bentley will be staying at Will’s apartment. Will is already worried about having the dog in the house and a bit jealous of how into Bentley Jasmine is. Jasmine loves how much Will loves his nieces and nephews.
Pastor Cal comes to talk about finances with these two. It’s a big issue for them. Jasmine believes in traditional gender roles and as such doesn’t feel like she should do all the cooking and cleaning and still have the exact same financial responsibility that she does. I agree with her completely. She says they have come to an agreement of 60/40. Great! They agree, problem solved. But then Pastor Cal points out that Jasmine makes more money than Will. He basically says that she needs to leave traditional gender roles behind. Nope! She is entitled to the relationship dynamic that she wants just as much as Will is. They compromised. Stay out of it. They have not had sex yet. Jasmine again wants Will to take the initiative when comes to sex. Because, traditional gender roles. Pastor Cal says they need to get out of the friendzone. Why is he pushing everyone this season? They have been together a week! We have had couples go months before having sex in previous seasons.
Later they talk about sex and Will seems… uncomfortable. Will likes to take it slow when it comes to sex. Jasmine is ready to be pounced on. Will does think living with Jasmine will be difficult. They have both lived with a partner before. Will is not thrilled that Jasmine has lived with another man. Am I the only one thinking Will may be a bit inexperienced in the bedroom?

Kate & Luke
Ooohh! Pastor Cal is going to have a little chat with Luke about telling Kate that kissing her makes her feel repulsed and dead inside. This should be good. But first, he talks to Kate. Kate is very concerned about being with Luke. Kate says she would normally just end any further communication with someone who says that, but she is married and wants it to work. She says that is the only bad thing he has said to her.
Pastor Cal is hot under the collar about what Luke said. Luke is nervous that Kate told him about what he said to her off camera. Well, buddy, she did. And she told the other new brides. When Pastar Cal talks about intimacy, he laughs. Then he asks about the kiss. Pastor Cal has to say what he said, because he can’t. Then he tells Luke if he can’t turn things around and be a mad and start showing Kate some respect, he needs to “get the heck up outta here.”

That was pretty much to the point. Luke blames Kate for pressuring him to kiss here and then shifts to blame it on drinking. When Pastor Cal asks if she is undesirable to her, he basically says yes. He tells him if he is not in it, he is there to take the pressure off and give him an exit plan. But he wants to stay on TV stick it out. I wonder if he asked Kate if she wanted to bail, because that would be a wise decision for her.
Then he talks to them both. Apparently they both said they want to stay. Kate says the passion is there for her, but not for Luke. He encourages them to talk through it.
Kate is nervous about moving in with Luke. She should be nervous. They move into a trendy neighborhood with bars everywhere. This is problematic. Luke is all smiley in their little video.
Next week is meet the friends week. Luke is a jerk again. Stephanie’s friends seem fun. Jasmine’s friends bring up sex.
Please keep up the recaps, TT! I love this show. I love Kate and hope that Luke wakes up/comes around. AJ does seem to have a mean steak, nor he doesn’t ruin things with Stephanie. Jasmine–more mature than Will. Queen Kristine and Kevin–i think will make it!
I think the producers and support team are trying to create drama with the Luke and Kate match. I am sure that Luke specified what he was physically attracted to (brown women). Would it not have been so hard to find a brown woman with the same compatible intrinsic values making a good match? Really? This is cruel and I feel sorry for Kate. I wonder if she will let her natural brunette hair grow in for him in the future if they stay together. Then again, Kate should have gotten off that train during the honeymoon and flown home early putting this experiment behind her.
Yes, please keep doing recaps! Love this show! AJ scares me! He’s like a time bomb waiting to explode! She shouldn’t have to compromise her feelings this early in the game to just appease him so he doesn’t explode! Kate should have just bailed because the next episode does not seem promising! I really think he just wanted to be on a reality show to promote himself and his business.
Please keep up with the recaps! I love them! I want to believe that the “experts” are trying their best for people, but then I see some couples like these! Did they really not ask about gender role expectations in the interviews? That is huge! I think they needed to pair the more traditional Jasmine and Keith together. She could cook, and hide away her money while they live on his small income. They’d both be happy. Hard to say about AJ – he might be the victim of harsh editing. I thought he was so super annoying, but Stephanie seems ok with him. Luke is… hard to find the right words.
I don’t say much in this forum but my hubby and I watch every week.
Please keep the recaps! So does it count if we click on same story multiple times? I would for this show; I LOVE it!!
Great update. I agree; production picking housing is interesting. I wonder if they didn’t like that all 3 couples moved into the husband’s existing housing last season.
I’m glad Jasmine and Will compromised on the finances, that is a good sign.
I’m concerned about AJ, he is scary and has a short fuse.
Luke and Kate- life is too short, please go. This marriage is dead. I think this is worse than David and Amber from last season.
Kristine and Keith, I have hope for them. They may have a future. I like that he is going to school at night while working. If she is patient, he will probably do well financially.
Do not stop recapping this show, please.
Yeah, AJ makes me very nervous. All of the hairs on the back of my neck went up when he talked down to the producer like that. It shows a very ugly underbelly to his personality. He also seems weirdly fixated on the dinner together thing, as if it is mandatory as opposed to an enjoyable aspect of a relationship when possible. Stephanie seems pretty great, RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN girl. You in danger.
Thank you for recapping, Tamara! I wish more people would give this show a chance, as it’s definitely worth watching. I’m still very upset with the experts for making such glaring mistakes in matching this bunch, it had to have been done on purpose. AJ is a festering zit – we need Dr. Pimplepopper to come visit and squeeze the attitude out of him. No secret why he spent so many nights alone in front of the TV with a Stouffer’s Mac and Cheese. His insistence on being able to stay at his old place is odd to me, but maybe I’m remembering when my hubby and I were dating and then newlyweds, many moons ago, and couldn’t keep our hands off each other, plus wanting to be together every minute we could. I guess this is a different situation than that, since at least I knew my groom’s name when I married him.
Luke is a horrible person, and I don’t think his motives were pure when he signed up for this. Why go on the show if there’s a physical type of woman who leaves you repulsed and dead inside? He had to know he had no control over that. Again, I wonder if the failure to take that into account was done to create drama. If so, shame on whoever came up with that idea – Kate is far too sweet to be made a fool of and insulted in such a horrible, cruel way.
Yeah, I’ve seen theories online that Luke is gay, and I don’t think that, but I do think he maybe went on the show to promote his speed dating business or exposure for something else. If kissing her truly made him feel dead inside, why would he want to “stick it out?” unless his ulterior motives require him to stick around. It’s a shame, I thought they made a cute couple, but how on earth could Kate ever kiss him again without wondering if he felt repulsed again? I just don’t think I could get over such a devastating comment.
I still think he may be in the closet. I seen a post that stated he only dated dark skin women. I just wonder exactly how he treated them. Based on previews he is going to be a jerk again.
I think that Luke was lying his ass off to Pastor Call during the screening. He asked Luke if he has a type. Then he said not really, I dated a Brazilian woman, and mixed woman and a…. I forgot what he said… a woman from Pakistan…a white woman…
It sounded like the high school virgin male with not dating history at all trying to brag without knowing what he was talking about.
Absolutely! And it would have been the perfect opportunity to say that he prefers women of colour, WHICH HE DID NOT! He clearly has some secondary motive for being on the show.
I don’t have time to watch the show but I make it a point to read your recaps. Keep up the good job. Luke needs to go. And all these men wanting women to cater to them and pay the bills is why so many relationships are messed up. You can’t expect someone to be traditional yet you choose to be untraditional.
Jasmine wants traditional roles all the way around she wants to cook and clean and have babies and work. He also wants to just go to work and come home and be taken care of. It that situation the bills should not be 50/50 because she is contributing a lot more.
I agree
Thanks for the recap! I love this show, so please don’t stop the recaps.
I feel sorry for all of the women on the show. Will and Keith are looking for sugar mommies, not partners. AJ is a strange combo of goofball and scary. And Luke leaves me speechless.
I think the experts do a terrible job of matching couples. It seems like every season, there are giant issues that they have not asked the couples about: smoker, want kids, mom stay home with kids, finances, debt, history as a stalker, and on and on. Their track record is terrible.
I like Dr. Pepper and think she says sensible, helpful things, but I do not like Dr. Jessica or Pastor Cal. They do not seem that sharp to me, and often they seem to be giving bad advice or pushing couples in ways they should not be pushed.
I also think part of the problem with these later seasons is that the show attracts people with issues, either because they are bad at relationships and are desperate for someone else to do the hard work for them or because they just want to be on TV.
I think he’s incredibly immature. Inviting all of those “friends” over last night is just another reason I think this. Half of them didn’t even know who Kate was let alone came to get to know her/them as a married couple.
He’s ruining the season for me. And I hope this show doesn’t go the way of 90 Day Fiance and just become pure trash where we can’t root for anyone.
I agree that Luke is hard to watch (and that 90 Day has gotten unwatchable). If the teaser for next week is accurate, and he spread rumours online that Kate is alcoholic, he should be kicked off the show. Whether she is or isn’t, that is a terrible thing to do.
