That is a ridiculous headline right? Say what you want about LVP but she built that club from the ground up and planted olive trees were there was nothing with her own lily-white hands and turned it into a popular hotspot that goes hand in hand with her SUR clientele.
So WTF is Nene nattering on about? Well, she was recently on Jenny McCarthy’s radio show. It was there that she clarified that when she was on WWHL and said she had a beef with someone on RHOBH she got confused about the names and said Lisa Rinna when she meant Lisa Vanderpump. That sounds a little odd but Nene is of a certain age when women struggle with names. Don’t ask me how I know this.
She goes on to explain the full story and it sounds very plausible to me. Remember when Nene was living in LA briefly and the RHOA flew out there to film a show and they were all hours late to dinner at Nene’s house and she turned them away from at the door? Well, that is when everything went down back in 2012.
Nene and Gregg were living in a house in the Hollywood Hills on a short-term lease while she was filming Glee and The New Normal (and a bit of RHOA). Nene claimed today when speaking to Jenny that during that time she and Gregg would pass the site of the future PUMP restaurant and she thought since in was in Weho, she could open a successful gay bar because she had a broad fan base in the gay community.
Okay. Other than the fake Pizza company thing, since when has Nene ever expressed interested in opening a bar or restaurant particularly in Beverly Hills when her home is in Atlanta?
Nene continues her story by saying she called up LVP because she owned restaurants in the area to get her opinion. She claims LVP told her it was a bad deal and the property was priced too high. So Nene abandoned the idea and LVP swooped in to get it. That sounds like LVP to me.
Why? Because at the time LVP leased the property she was hit with yet another lawsuit by two men who also claim that LVP stole the property out from under her. Ryan Carrillo and Andrew Gruver who were in negotiations to lease the property when there was some sort of problem with their investors that they were in the process of working out and LVP and Ken came in and made the property owners a better offer for a lease. The two men promptly sued them for damages and attempted to get an injunction on the lease until the courts could work it all out.
So there was indeed a lot of shady business going on with the lease of the land that PUMP was built on. As there is with every LVP transaction it seems. Fortunately for them, all of this happened around the same time that Teresa and Joe were indicted on 39 (later updated to 41) counts of fraud. This might be a good time to revisit that link. Nonetheless, clearly LVP and Ken won the war and PUMP came to fruition.
So what do you think about Nene’s claims?
