It was supposed to snow in Atlanta today. Not a lot, but just the possibility closed all the schools and government offices, because Atlanta.I stayed up until about 9:30 am and got up around three knowing there would be a lot for me to do after sleeping through all the comments and news that happen in the morning. Then I opened a link to TMZ that said “Empire Star Attacked in Chicago. My first thought was I hope it wasn’t Jussie. Not that I wished it on any of the others, but Jussie is my favorite because he radiates kindness from the TMZ. He seems to have a big heart. He is polite and well-mannered to everyone. He seems to care. He is the complete opposite of the male who represents out country to the world at this time. He seems like a fundamentally good person.
When I read what happened to him. I was sick to my stomach. I don’t know how to report this. It feels like something that would happen in a backwater southern town in the 1940s .I don’t know how to process this. The evil in this world seems to be getting worse and not better. I don’t know what to say to express how terrifying and disgusting this is. So I’m just going to let some other people do that. I can’t even cry or get angry or really let this sink in today. I’m numb. I can only pray for a better world for us all. And keep on trying to keep on.
I will say this shit is POLITICAL. And we can’t just stop talking about politics because it makes people mad. I’m fucking FURIOUS that we are acting like there is nothing we can do about the leadership of our country right now and we just have to be quiet and wait for it to be over. We are not all going to survive this shit. We have hatred and prejudice in the White House, and it is giving those with hatred and prejudice in their hearts free reign of this country. We must acknowledge that as a first step to eradicating it.
If you missed the details, please go read them here. I just can’t seem to type them out.
Thinking of Jussie. Saddened. Heartbroken. Angry. ALL of it. Wouldn’t matter that he is the kindest soul. But he IS the kindest soul. And this is FUCKED. This is what all that hateful mongering has wrought. Are you PROUD???

Fox's statement on the Jussie Smollett attack: “The entire studio, network and production stand united in the face of any despicable act of violence and hate — and especially against one of our own.” Read statement in full: https://t.co/pDrnkPAoiR pic.twitter.com/zaaiMcm1sJ

I’m deeply horrified and saddened by the racist and homophobic attacks against @JussieSmollett. He is a kind and profoundly talented soul whom I respect with all my heart. The terror of racism and homophobia has no place in our society, it is the most indecent way to live…

OMG!! THIS is why the LGBTQ community continue to fight to be seen and PROTECTED against hate!

The vicious attack on actor Jussie Smollett was an attempted modern-day lynching. I'm glad he's safe.
To those in Congress who don't feel the urgency to pass our Anti-Lynching bill designating lynching as a federal hate crime– I urge you to pay attention. https://t.co/EwXFxl5f2m

I am disgusted and horrified to hear of the homophobic and racial attack on Jussie Smollett last night. Unfortunately, these hateful attacks happen way too often. We must call out and hold those accountable. Sending love to you, Jussie.

I need to get off this Twitter feed now because there are people interspersed with those of us who are heartsick already saying it didn’t happen.
TMZ is reporting the police have a lead!
Cops investigating the Jussie Smollett attack say they finally have a lead from surveillance video … but they’re gonna need the public’s help to locate multiple persons of interest.
Chicago PD says detectives were able to find a camera angle that revealed “persons of interest wanted for questioning” in the assault and battery of the “Empire” star. Cops are careful not to call the people suspects in the case.
