Brooklyn Doris Daly is 3 months today?More Newfangled Gestational Math?

January 27, 2019 by tamaratattles 19 Comments

We have talked about this new gestational math that mothers are doing these days before and it still confuses me. Kenya is announcing that Brooklyn Doris is three months old today, and my mind is blown.

Brooklyn was born at 9:39 a.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 4. She weighed 5 lbs. and 12 oz and was “very alert and active.” So shouldn’t she be three months old on February 4th? If she counts four weeks as a month then the baby will be “thirteen months old on her first birthday.

Is this part of the same gestational math that makes modern women pregnant for ten months instead of the nine month pregnancies that women have had since the beginning of time?

I don’t get it. Can’t we just get back to counting months by, oh I dunno, the month? And Pluto is a fucking planet. #OldPeopleRant

Oh and Andy sent Brooklyn a giant snoopy and Kandi bought her crib! That’s interesting about Andy sending a nice gift. His relationship with Kenya is so bipolar.

No matter what age you want to call this baby, she is adorable.

Kenya was never pregnant, I don’t know why folks keep believing her lies. The surrogate delivered the baby Nov 27th. A month early. Kenya at first said she was due Thanksgiving. But I guess baby had other ideas. The next lie was the baby was born the exact day of the new season of RHOA Nov 4th. Then by Nov 27 she had snapped back into shape after a 2 incision c section. Now the truth comes out. Brooklyn was born Nov 27 period.

She is 12 WEEKS to the day. Not 3 months. 3 months would be February. When babies are that young many moms often refer to theiage in weeks but no, she’s not 3 months. The 10 month gestational is that a woman is pregnant for 40 full weeks, sometimes a little more. So, you are going into your 10th month. Actually, gestional time is 9 full months, give or take.

Came to say this! My baby was born a week after Kenya’s so he is 13 weeks today. My hubby and I had a disagreement over this when he said he was 3 months. Idk why it’s so hard to get it straight. There’s 28 days in 4 weeks whereas months have 30-31. Full term is 40 weeks or 280 days or 9 2/3 months lol. I’ve had a few kids and never been pregnant for 10 months ha!

I’m old people rant all the way! I barely made it through 37 weeks of pregnancy. Mine would’ve been 12lb babies had they decided to stay for 42 weeks. I shuddered typing that. Regardless baby is so so cute! Love the pics.

I clicked on the link for andy and it’s NOT Andy Cohen’s page, it’s some guy from NYC and says he an “artist” I saw it on her instagram earlier today and felt misled. Maybe and accident? Or it could be Kenya being shady.

Why does she keep doing this to herself and her family? She keeps giving people ammunition about her pregnancy/birth. I can’t imagine Marc is here for that kind of drama and negative attention.

Kenya had? the baby October 27th but didn’t announce till November 4th because of RHOA premiere date to steal thunder. What’s confusing is Brooklyn was born six weeks premature and obviously she wasn’t. You don’t need a good memory when you tell the truth.

Yep you’re right. She has it wrong. Definitely 3 months on the 4th of February. I had my first baby in September and thats how they work out the age for immunizations.

“Number sense” (that’s when the you put in the wrong digits in the calculator and get a radically wrong answer and don’t question it) died with calculators. Calculators can’t figure months. Almost as bad as when I told a millennial that the DMV book instructs us to drive with hands at 8 and 4 and it used to be 10 and 2. She had NO IDEA what I meant. What about when you say “cute guy at 2 o’clock?” Didn’t get it. Clockwise and counterclockwise? Knew what that meant but not where it came from — and never questioned it. She has only used digital clocks. Still no excuse.

She’s just making it up as she goes along. I think some people assume 12 weeks = 3 months because conventional wisdom says there are 4 weeks in a month. But all months (except leap year February) are longer than four weeks. As they get older it just doesn’t play out like that. Twelve months is not 48 weeks, it’s 56. Her head will explode soon. I thought she was smarter than that?

But to answer your question – no, that’s not how people calculate baby age. Unlike gestational age, it’s just regular math.

Haha I’m sleep deprived from my own baby! I actually did the math in my head and then checked it. Maybe we’re over thinking it and Kenya is just simply as sleep deprived as I am! 🙂

Three months and Brooklyn is so darn cute. Kenya seems so happy. I wish we got to see all of this on RHOA.

Feb 4 is 3 months. There is no math that says otherwise!!!!!! It’s just WEIRD! Do we say she is a year old at 10 months? So ca we make up ages nowadays? My daughter is 13 but I am celebrating her 5th bday so she stays young!

It’s weird that she is saying “my crib”, “my snoopy”, “my gifts”. Those things are for the baby. It’s like she hasn’t switched into mommy mode, it’s still all about her. That’s strange for a new mom,
