Kandi just made a lot more money in the Big Brother house. Weezer just released a single from their new Teal Album of TLC’s No Scrubs. For those not familiar, Weezer is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1992. The band currently consists of Rivers Cuomo (lead vocals, lead guitar, keyboards), Patrick Wilson (drums), Brian Bell (guitar, backing vocals, keyboards), and Scott Shriner (bass, backing vocals).
They are releasing a new album, The Teal Album, that is all covers of classic hit from the ’60s to the ’90s including Toto’s Africa, Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean, Black Sabbath’s Paranoid, Ben E. King’s Stand By Me The Turtle’s Happy Together, and a-ha’s “Take on Me.”
Kandi won a Grammy in 2000 for No Scrubs. Kandi is currently in the Big Brother house but is in danger of being the first person evicted on the live show tomorrow. I am currently listening to a lot of last-minute conversations between Kato and Natalie about whether to keep Kandi or Jonathan. It was all set for Jonathan to go but now Tom is trying to flip his alliance to vote out Kandi. This is going to go down to the wire.
Anyway, of all of the songs on the new Teal album, it is No Scrubs that is going viral. Some people like it and others hate. I am in the first group. Who knew old white guys singing No Scrubs would be so much fun?
Take a listen and tell me what you think. One thing is for sure, Kandi has made $100k in the Big Brother house whenever she leaves and now she has a whole lot of residuals rolling in. As she says, Kandi is always winning!
