Just two months after Ryan Edwards second stay in rehab to treat his heroin addiction, Ryan Edwards is back in jail facing charges of heroin possession and theft of services. Based on reports, it appears that Ryan had an outstanding warrant for heroin possession when he was arrested for skipping out on a bar bill.
Last month, just one month out of rehab, Ryan went to Bud’s bar in Hamilton County, Tennessee shortly after the bar opened at noon and ordered six Jack Daniels at six bucks a pop. Then he left the bar without paying his $36 bill. The owner of the bar search the local law enforcement site’s online mugshots to identify Ryan and filed a report with the local police who served the warrant for his arrest in the wee hours of Wednesday morning according to Hollywood Life.
Ryan remains in jail without bond due to a previous warrant from Red Bank County for possession of heroin. The charge from Red Bank county proceeds the Hamilton County charges which indicates that he likely tested positive for heroin shortly after he left his three-month stay in rehab. A drug test fail results in the charge of possession of heroin as we learned before the last time Ryan failed a test and was arrested just before going to rehab the last time.
In my opinion, the only thing that might save Ryan’s life at this point is a lengthy jail sentence to keep him from having access to the drug.
This is a sad story for those of us who have watched Ryan growing up over the last nine years or so on Teen Mom. There was a clear point where his behavior changed and his appearance began to deteriorate. We also saw him marry the mother of his most recent child while high on heroin. He also drove the car to the wedding while high as a kite in one of the most frightening scenes on reality TV. Sadly, addiction is taking the lives of so many people in this country. Our thoughts are with Ryan’s family and children.
Clearly we have isn’t working agree with you about the jail time it might be the last chance he has
He would be able to get the drugs in jail or prison. I hope he finds a way to get clean.
what I had originally said was clearly rehab isn’t working for him my phone changed all the words and you’re right he probably can get that drugs in jail as well
While it’s true he might be able to score heroin in jail, the experience will (hopefully) help him reach rock bottom so he will finally say, “uncle”. It often takes multiple attempts at recovery to come off a drug like heroin or pills. Jail will be a very rude awakening for this white middle-class reality star boy/man. People like him generally aren’t very poplar in jail.
Maybe he’ll finally come to terms with the fact he missed all that time with his son because of his addiction/choices and nothing Maci or mother did.
Absolutely. I wish Ryan and his family all the best. Having a child whose Father is also actively using Heroin, I understand the heartbreak it causes the child and the rest of the family. I also truly believe that are so many addicts who really DON’T want to use, but the addiction is bigger than them. Good luck to them all.
Damn. This is so sad. Poor Bentley, and really all the kids who have actively addicted parents. I hope Ryan can get it together for his kids.
I think he needs to go to the place that Tyler’s dad went in Texas. Wasn’t Butch in there for like 6 months or something like that? I really hope they can get him the help he needs and he realizes he needs it before it’s way too late.
Ryan AND his family have to understand that sober includes abstaining from all drink and drug. They need al-anon or some other structured support system. They need to stop drinking with him and overlooking his drinking. He seems to be an alcoholic on top of opioid addict or he’s just swapping one substance for another and not dealing with anything.
@twilly–Exactly. An addict is an addict, regardless of the drug (alcohol, heroin, etc.). They need to stop the enablement.
This is so sad. My heart breaks for his family.
Very sad for his kids.
Ryan needs help and the first step is for his family and friends to learn how to help not enable him. Unfortunately jails are full of drugs, my husband was a corrections officer in a federal prison, so unless while he is in jail he receives treatment and wants to be clean and sober nothing will work. I’ve been dealing with addicts for the last 25 years in my family and until the addict says I’m done with this life, nothing will help or work. The only thing that got my son, who was a 15 year active addict, to realize that the drug life was not for him anymore was losing all contact with his family and children for months on end and living on the streets. It’s harsh, I know as he is my child and it killed me to know he was homeless, hungry, etc. but he finally got it and checked himself into rehab. He takes life minute by minute these days but he’s finally clean and sober at 30.
So glad your son came around. Some people never do. They go down, down, down, then die before they stop. Your son and your family are some of the fortunate ones.
How in the world they have kept him out of jail up to this point is amazing. I know of people doing stints for weed and how many times has he been busted for heroin?? I’m sorry for his family. Addiction is brutal….
Unfortunately, there is easy access to heroin in prison. The only thing that can save him is himself. He has to be ready. He has to admit his life is unmanageable and reach out for help. He has to want it, but he doesn’t.
My rock bottom was being arrested. It’s not his rock bottom, though. He uses regardless of criminal consequences. Maybe his bottom will be losing his wife, kids, and relatives. Maybe not. If no one holds him accountable, we will never know because he will continue using.
Opiates almost killed me, but I got out. He can, too, but he won’t until the enabling stops.
That’s amazing, congratulations on your sobriety.
It’s the worst epidemic our country has seen, and I’m so happy for yoursobreity. Wishing you continued success xx
Congratulations on your sobriety and Godspeed on your continued recovery.
Ryan needs long term care and then sober living. Maci said this herself. It’s working for Butch. Ryan has to want to do it though. Concerning he drove after six drinks. Terrible Ryan is blaming his mother for not having a closer relationship with Bentley.
This is very sad. I will always find it concerning that Mackenzie married him when he was high. I just hope he isn’t getting used while he struggles with addiction. I don’t know. Hopefully this arrest will be part of his path to recovery.
ryan is the poster child for what is happening in our streets , suburbs, and rural backlands of America. This man needs help whether it will be jail or intense drug rehab, We need to pray for him and all the addicts that are out there in this crisis. Go ahead MTV give him another paycheck to fuel his habit and film it, if you have a heart pay for his rehab treatment instead. Macy you need to stop using him as your storyline as well, respect him as the father of your son.
