Gross Southern Charm Production Interference
The Fourth Attempt At An Ashley Confrontation Scene
So he pushed the ball to January 17th. He claimed it was because he needed more material due to the initial filming delays caused by Hurricane Florence. I do believe that played a role in it but others felt like it had more to do with trying to finagle a confrontation between Patricia and Ashley. Remember, Patricia has not been in any of the three previous scenes with Ashley. Rothman (and Ashley) really wanted that confrontation to happen.
While Ashley Jacobs may have arrived unescorted, Patrica Altschul did not. Patrica Altschul was wearing some very expensive jewelry and decided to hire a bodyguard just to be on the safe side. Plus, it gave her the added benefit of having someone to hold the umbrella and help her navigate the rain. As it turns out, he also came in quite handy for removing uninvited guests from her fancy event.
Gee, Whoever Could Have Given Patricia The Heads Up?
But, Patricia Altschul had heard that Ashley Jacobs was trying to attend the event. So, she informed the bodyguard of a potential unwelcome guest. I’m told that Patricia Altschul did not engage with her at all. Ashley was escorted out into the rain by the bodyguard to go back to wherever she came from. She fled to wherever Thomas Ravenel was waiting on her so they could drink away the sorrows of their miserable realities. The invited guests on the other hand, briefly celebrated her departure and then continued to enjoy the party without giving her another thought. Strike four for production.
Side note: Lots of the ladies took photos in the bathroom of the WIlliam Aiken House due to it’s glamorous decor. The William Aiken House is one of the beautifully restored antebellum homes in Charleston and is on the National Registry of Historic Places. It is currently a popular place for high-end weddings and glamorous parties. Which begs the question, what was the dress code for this event and what on earth is Kathryn wearing? Did she forget her skirt?
