I am so excited that you guys are into this season and that we have a late night commenting crew to discuss the live feeds! The feeds and After Dark both start tonight. For some reason I was expecting them to start last night. I have such a busy night on Tuesdays, I may be a little late to the After Dark Party in comments tonight!
Julie’s dress is interesting tonight. I think I like it! Tom Green’s lowkey shade to Tamar on episode one, “How are the grapes” was the quote from the previous season. I used to play a Big Brother game where we guessed lots of things and the quote from the previous episode was one. I feel like Tom Green will have the majority of those for as long as he remains in the game. In the comments tonight, why don’t we guess what the quote from this episode will be to kick off the next episode?
I may have to get the feeds just because the theme music makes me happy and think of summer. It runs when the feeds are down a lot of the time.
Jonathan tries to explain the game (which requires math) to Ryan. Good luck with that, dude. Jonathan’s plan is to form an alliance of seven to control the game and keep both Ryan and Jonathan safe in the first eviction. What a novel concept. In addition to these two Jonathan suggests Kandi and Tamar (as if they are a real pair) and Natalie and Lolo (Lolo hates Lochte) and Joey. This is never going to be an alliance, y’all. NEVER. And of course Jonathan and Ryan have a final two. Tamar and Kandi both agree to the alliance… at least for the first week. Both are playing nice with each other until they can take the other out. When Lolo and Tamar approach Joey he says he hates the word alliance and would never want to be in one. And this was before they even explained the alliance and its purpose to him. Jonathan tells Lolo that means they can just nominate Joey.
Apparently, production agreed to put an endless practice pool in the backyard for Ryan to use for training. It’s also impressing the ladies who enjoy watching him. Ryan will be around for a while.
Tom Green and The Mooch bond over both being fired by Trump. Tom was on Celebrity Apprentice many years ago. They are both sort of smart. So they sit around and talk like two old men playing checkers. Jonathan makes a finale four with Natalie, and Lolo. Why does everyone think hosting Cupcake Wars means you are a genius? Lolo and Natalie have bought in to that theory now just like Ryan. I’m calling this the FOUR SURE alliance unless and until they name themselves officially.
Meanwhile, Tamar sets up an alliance of four with Kandi, Lolo and Natalie as the four girls who will never stab each other in the back. Lolo points out it will never work. Even Destiny’s Child couldn’t stay together. I’m going to call this group Destiny’s Child unless and until they name themselves. And just like that they name themselves
The Four Fox. Not Foxes. Fox. Le sigh. EDIT: Clearly I need hearing aids. I believe they are The Four Tops.
It’s time for the first HOH comp. I do not remember the challenges being so physical for the first Celebrity Big Brother. In this challenge they have to swing on ziplines and knock over blocks with their bodies. Lochte creams Jonathan at first. The Mooch makes jokes about “the wall.” Ryan has a ton of trouble getting the last two boxes down. It takes him several swings and he is exhausted. But he finally gets them. He is super tired and he is an Olympic athlete. These challenges are brutal! Julie announces there will be three nominees this week. He has thirty minutes to pick the nominees. I really am not ready for any of these people to go home! I guess Ricky can go.
Ryan and Jonathan try to strategize but the guys keep interrupting them. Kandi gets a moment to ask Ryan what he is thinking and he won’t tell her. Kandi points out in the diary room that if he is not sharing strategy with her, they are NOT in an alliance.
Meanwhile, The Mooch asks Tom Green and Kato how alliances work. Tom explains it and The Mooch is like, “OOh that sounds good! Let’s be an alliance!” Kato is so excited someone wants to ally with himself he pees his pants just a little. I fear that Tom left out and important part of his brief explanation about alliances. You don’t tell anyone you are in an alliance. I can see both of these clowns skipping through the house telling everyone “I’m in an alliance! They like me! They really like me” using their best Sally Field impression. Sigh. I think they named themselves K-Train. If they didn’t I just did.
Tamar and Lolo ambush Ryan for his nominations and he says Dina and Anthony. Wow he didn’t have any trouble telling them. Kandi is right to feel like she is on the outside. Then Kandi comes in realizes that Ryan told the other girls who his nominations are. She realizes she needs to befriend the other side of the house. When Ryan talks to Jonathan, he tries to save Dina because he is like a second mom to him. He pushes for Tom and Anthony. NO! NOT TOM! Why not Ricky! Ryan still can’t make up his mind and says he is just going to wing it when he gets up there. Oh Lord the dumb is strong in this one.
Ryan nominates Anthony and Tom. Well hell. I guess The Mooch will be leaving us. Or we can pray for Tom to win POV?
