Kenya Moore was on Doctor Oz today to talk about her near death experience while delivering her child. It was mostly the same version of the story she has told us already. She was at home and realized she had gained 17 pounds in a week and called the doctor about the swelling. She was told to come straight to the hospital. Marc was in New York, so her aunt came to take her. Marc caught the first flight home and met her at the hospital. She said she was given an epidural and at one point in the three hour C-section, she woke up and was trying to talk and no one could hear her. She thought she had died. Dr. Oz calls it an out of body experience and he says it was “almost like she crossed over.” She seemed to not be aware that she was given general anesthesia.
The doctor had problems cutting into her uterus due to fibroids and scars from previous surgeries to remove fibroids. She could not get to the baby. Then there was the whole part about how she had to be cut both horizontally and vertically before they could pop the baby out. Kenya lost a lot of blood but she had told the doctor she did not want a blood transfusion. Presumably, because she was raised in the Jehovah’ Witness faith. The doctor was worried they would lose her with the heavy blood loss. Kenya says the baby girl screamed a lot for such a small five-pound baby. Dr. Oz asked how premature she was. Kenya replied “Five and a half weeks.”
Kenya says Brooklyn is fantastic, she’s lifting her head and makes “all these faces.” Kenya already thinks she is advanced for her age. She was five weeks old when this show was filmed.
When Kenya walked out in a short red dress her butt was quite large. The lay of the dress kind of minimized the waist but there was still pregnancy weight there. Dr. Oz had her stand up in front of a screen to talk about the possible things that could have killed her during child birth and she kept her arms crossed over her mid region. She looked beautiful and very happy. She was still quite full in the face. During the second half of the show, Dr. Oz is going to talk to her about her “very controversial snapback.” This should be interesting.
Kenya says she gained 75 pounds during the pregnancy. She says she lost forty pound the first week because most of her weight was water weight from the preeclampsia. She said after two weeks her tummy was flat again. And that’s the whole story. I wish I would have known this was on in time to tell you guys to watch it. I only taped it because I saw a commercial that Casey Anthony’s parents would be on to discuss his near fatal car crash and had no idea she was on.
Dr. Oz points out that she was not on this season of RHOA and she says, “I don’t know how I could have done it.” When he asks if she will be back she says, ” I say never say never.”
Thoughts.
With the direction that the show is taking this season, I really don’t think Kenya would fit (Porsha is the anchor of the show? Really?). And I’d really would hate to see her jump on an already sinking ship.
I just can’t with Dr. Oz. Has there ever been a “snake oil” of “alternative/integrative medicine” that he didn’t promote?
As for Kenya, I’m glad she now has a healthy daughter and a loving spouse in her life. Like you, I’ve been disappointed in what appears to be Kenya not being completely honest about her pregnancy. If she didn’t want to share all the details of Brooklyn’s birth, she could have just told us all to knock it off and keep our noses where they belong. Maybe other fans would have thrown a fit, but I would have made peace with it.
Still, I wish the Dalys nothing but the best. I also hope that Kenya has made peace with her RHOA exit knowing that she can now raise Brooklyn in a more healthful environment without the ridiculous Bravo toxicity.
She definitely posted a delivery room pic of holding Brooklyn on her IG.
Oh! Please link us to that. We must have all missed it.
Be nice TT..
It’s right on her IG, idiot. Go look, she reposted it recently
I think the entire pregnancy was a fake
What information was Kenya was not honest about?
I dunno. I’m confused why people still seem to think she’s answerable to fans / random internet folk.
“Maybe other fans would have thrown a fit, but I would have made peace with it.” This sums up the entire situation for me. Someones always going to have a gripe so she might as well live her life and continue to pay those who want to question her dust.
Happy that Kenya has a baby.
The test kinda sounds like “fake news”.
Love her and happy for her anyways..
Is it just me or does the math just seem really off? I know there’s this whole weird “new math pregnancy” thing, but seriously, the baby was 5-1/2 weeks premature? So, Kenya was present what 12 months at this point because it sure seemed way, way longer than 9 months as it was. That said, I’m happy for her and her little family.
I miss seeing Kenya and her snark but at least she keeps us updated on her Instagram. Sometimes things work out for the best.
I watched the show. It was good. You can look at her and see she is happy with where she is in life. Her IG posts are full of her happiness and joy. It doesn’t appears she miss RHOA at all. She never mention it, but she will like posts the cast put on IG. I really thinks she has moved on.
Bravo is trying hard to make Porsha the anchor of the show. I believe it was a last minute effort after she revealed her pregnancy. They lost one big “baby makes three” storyline, so they gave the fans 2nd best, which is meh. Just not working for them this season. Bravo knows this to be the case, but keep up appearances as if it is not. The early filming of the reunion is a tell tale sign as to how things are going. RHOA films the reunion in March and airs in April.
I missed it but hopefully I can watch online. Kenya looks beautiful, she always does but she is positively glowing since birthing Brooklyn. I sure hope we get to see Kenya on our screens this year, I thoroughly enjoy her. She’s my type of woman. I just need her to give Mr. Daly a son to complete their already picture perfect family.
I honestly don’t see Kenya making things better for RHOA without jeopardizing her marriage. Her M.O. for creating interest is creating messiness, so I don’t know how she can keep that up while maintaining a healthy relationship with Marc. Plus, being a mom changes you in a blink of an eye, so she should be above some of the foolishness we’ve seen of late.
Long story short…I don’t see her return being the success many of you are hoping for.
I agree with you, Tatum Talks.
I agree with you. Motherhood really does change a woman’s worldview and perspective. I really believe Kenya has found her happy place and has moved on from RHOA. She only mention it, when she is asked about it.
I agree to an extent and hope she does stay away from the drama. However, most HWs are mothers and are still entrenched in the petty bullshit. So she might not be as “above it” as we all hope.
I miss seeing Kenya on RHOA. The new cast members are just boring. #BringBackKenya
Am I the only one who find it odd that Kenya didn’t post about her being on Dr. Oz today? I don’t know anything about instagram but I didn’t see it on twitter or facebook. I wonder if she wasn’t pleased with her segment.
She posted it on IG yesterdaym with more pictures. I think she is busy with new motherhood, her businesses and the promotions she has been doing and simply forgot.
I honestly still don’t know where I lie on Kenya’s pregnancy, I say this only because of my own weird snap back from pregnancy with my first.
I went in to labor with my first having gained 70 pounds, the first forty in my first eight months and the last thirty in my past month of pregnancy.
My son was born three almost four weeks early, perfectly healthy weighting 7 pounds 2 ounces 19 inches.
I had developed a ridiculous amount fluid and my blood pressure was way too high. I pushed and pushed and ended up with an emergency delivery with a third degree cut to deliver my baby alive.
Thankfully by God’s grace my son was delivered unharmed but it was an extremely difficult and dangerous vaginal delivery. It took over 70 stitches for my doctor to put my lady his back together.
Afterwards, even though I had such a serious delivery, working two weeks I was back to my pre pregnancy weight in two and a half weeks.
It literally happened to me, and people that knew me were utterly amazed that my body snapped back that quick. Hell even I was amazed.
I’m not saying she had the babe but I’m saying there are women out there like me who snapped back like exactly like her.
I was very very in shape before I got pregnant and continue to work out while pregnant. I’m not agreeing with her just saying that women like me have had that same experience. A rough birth with massive stitches and working out again within two weeks.
I did it, is it normal for all mom’s hell no but I was a gym a holic. Now six pregnancies later, I’m happy to chase after all my kids and still get all the homework and laundry done.
If Kenya did it, good for her all i can say is I would never want to do that again.
Do I believe her story, no I don’t. But that’s just me as a mom who has been through it.
Hmmmm let’s see?? since it didn’t happen exactly the same with you it must not be true?
Guess what I am also a mom that went through such things and half the viewers on this page are also moms who have popped out kids so you don’t have a one up on anyone.
Kenya must be a brazen liar to have used a surrogate and not have a premature baby and then go on NATIONAL TELEVISION where her husband, aunt, friends, doctor, nurses, hospital etc can leak out the truth. What would she gain by lying? Did she get an award or money? Did bravo tell her to lie?, what will she gain?
First y’all said she wasn’t pregnant, then it was that she didn’t give birth, then it was that she didn’t lose weight so fast and snap back and now she’s lying that her baby wasn’t premature by 5 weeks even though she said it on NATIONAL TELEVISION!!
In every thing one thing is constant and that is that Kenya has consistently proved her enemies and detractors wrong. What’s next? She adopted or stole the baby?
I can’t wait to see what her enemies come up with next……
??? I agree with you Blessed Say. It is really time to move on from The Mystery Pregnancy of Kenya Moore conspiracy theory. I really can’t speak for what is in her bank account, but I can assume she is not rolling in million to billion of dollars to pay off a legion of people to cover lies about her pregnancy. What sane person would jeopardize their business reputation and licenses to cover someone else lie? I, for one, hope she don’t return to Bravo, period. She appears to be enjoying her happy place in life and not missing RHOA at all.
Typo
Meant to say WAS premature
Kenya’s pregnancy is not your pregnancy so stop with it. I do not understand why anyone will speak about their child birthing or pregancy experience then to turn around and disbelieve someone else expereince. Everyone has their own experience so why can we simply accept that. Enough with it.. Let the woman enjoy her family and her life.
I don’t get the comment about Kenya not posting pics of herself in the delivery room. It’s right there on her Instagram page. One of the pics you can see Kenya balancing newborn Brooklyn on her chest. Could Kenya of blocked certain people from seeing certain posts? It’s still up when I check. And yesterday Kenya posted about being on Dr Oz as well.
I don’t believe kenya’s story
