It’s time for me to pause my Golden Globe watching to recap this episode of RHOA. I might have postponed it until tomorrow but there is a whole lot of conflict between Kandi and Porsha this episode. We all heard that Porsha tried to fight someone and got kicked out of Todd’s 45th birthday party but I don’t remember the details. It seems even being pregnant can’t keep Porsha’s violent tendencies in check. At the time of Todd’s birthday party, my production sources did not know she was pregnant. The news of her pregnancy was kept very quiet. However it was this party where the pregnancy allegations started coming out. My production sources continued to either not know or opted not to tell me. My primary source seemed to think Porsha was partying at the birthday party which was proof that she was not pregnant. Anyway, it should be a dramatic episode. Let’s get through it so I can get back to the Globes…even though I am popping vitamin B and swinging down a co-cola trying to keep my eyes open.
They started at the end and I was so confused about what Kandi and Porsha were fighting about. Also there was no filming at Todd’s party. So we start at “The Factory” as Porsha calls it with Kandi and Todd and Don Juan talking about the party the night before. Cameron and Jami show up too.
Across town Porsha is at the Hot Dog Stand (while it is closed) with her sister and Dennis filming their version of events. I think I am just going to let it play and watch for a bit.
The short version is some chick that was screwing Dennis just a couple weeks before came up to Dennis and gave him a hug and a kiss. Porsha lost her mind on the girl. The girl was there with Jami, the girl who Porsha beat down in the alley at the Christmas Eve party a couple years ago. Security put Porsha out of the party. Dennis texted the old girlfriend after the fight because he thought it was funny.
Cynthia is a mess. Noelle’s not taking her calls (It’s been 24 whole hours since she dropped her off at college.) Mike is coming for their first overnight date at Lake Bailey. Mike has something to ask Cynthia. Cynthia is hoping for a proposal.
Mike arrives is Capri length camouflage pants. I do not think I have ever seen a straight man in Capri pants. I’m just stating a fact. Maybe this is how they do it in LA? Then he pops the question, “Will you be my lady?” Cynthia says they have been exclusive for a while. I’m not sure what that means. Facebook official maybe?
While I was setting up for this episode, I scrolled past Peter Thomas’ links and realized we had not seen him all season. “He must finally be out,” I thought. It makes sense that with Mike in the picture, his services are no longer needed. But for some reason Nene and Gregg are about to film a scene with him at Chez Leakes. Apparently, Peter came for Todd’s birthday party and to check in on Gregg.
Tanya and Eva double date with their husbands at Tanya’s house. The husband’s went to Morehouse together and are friends. Both of them sort of pissed off Nene in Miami so they are bonding over that. Eva decides to do an international bacherlotte party to fix things with Nene. In other words production has them booked on an all cast trip to Tokyo and they need a reason for the trip other than Tokyo offered Bravo the most perks. So Eva and Tanya will have a hibachi party to inform the girls of their destination.
Shamari and her husband got to marital counseling. Shamari struggles between being a full-time mom and getting back out on the road.
Porsha invites, Nene, Cynthia, and Shamea over to bring them to her side in the Porsha and Kandi conflict and we hear the birthday party story for at least the fourth time. Porsha is mad that Kandi has not called her back to explain her side. Porsha says it’s a setup. Nene and Cynthia seem to be on Porsha’s side. Porsha tells these three that she is pregnant. I thought she did that in Miami at the end of the trip. Now it makes more sense why my production sources didn’t know around the time of the birthday party. Porsha is three months in and looks more like five months.
Tanya’s house is beautiful and classy. It’s time for the hibachi party. We go through about three more versions of the incident with Porsha. Nene and Cynthia both start to back off of team Porsha. Porsha had the last call time for the party. I love how Tanya gets up to greet each guest when they arrive. We rarely see decent hostesses on these shows.
The party ends with Porsha and Kandi screaming bloody murder at each other. Porsha calls Kandi fake and Kandi say Porsha has no idea how to control herself in public. Kandi says she leaving the party. The “before she kicks Porsha’s ass” part was implied.
I’m on Kandi’s side. Porsha showed up to a big party for Kandi’s husband that cost Kandi a ton of money to put on, and Porsha caused a disturbance and got herself kicked out.
Next week: The fight continues. Cynthia introduces Mike to the ladies. Marlo is inappropriate. Nene fights with Gregg. Porsha starts to mistrust Dennis.
