Good evening y’all!!! I hope you all had a wonderful Hanukkah,Christmas, Kwanzaa (insert any holiday I may have missed) and that your 2019 is starting out happy and healthy. Here we are for the last serving of Married to Medicine this season. I am so sad it’s all over but it looks like the ladies are going out with a bang! We start where we left off, with Mariah dropping a bomb that Quad had an affair with her married brother-in-law. Andy is trying to get the ladies to stop screaming to see if we can get to the bottom of this; Quad is vehemently denying this accusation. This had apparently happened before Quad was married. Mariah insists that she would never lie to throw her sister under the bus.
Quad then accuses Mariah of doing drugs and Aydin is simmering in the background. His arms are crossed and he looks ready to pounce. Andy calls for a break and Mariah takes Aydin back to the dressing room. Aydin starts screaming in the dressing room about Quad being homeless and him having paid her bills. Wow. He is VERY upset. The ladies all discuss what happened and mostly concur that there are no receipts so they can’t believe it.
Speaking of receipts, Andy asks if anyone has seen the receipts against Damon but no one has seen them. No one believes that Damon cheated and he didn’t. Mariah says she accused Damon of cheating to get back at Heavenly going after Mariah’s mama. That was super low, I’m sorry. That is not the same thing AT ALL. Mariah apologizes for breaking the glass in Antigua and they both agree the low down dirty stuff is over. One can hope.
We next get a montage on how the ladies are so shady to each other. Jackie calls herself a palm tree because she’s willing to be shady to keep the ladies together. The ladies agree that Jackie and Mariah are the shadiest. They discuss Quad’s sex toy drawer and they cut to the men watching and laughing. Dr. G arrives in the men’s backstage area and the men are all happy to see him. Dr. G says that he and Quad haven’t talked since Quad filed for divorce. Dr. G is here to defend himself.
The next montage is about how the ladies found out about Quad’s divorce online and how Quad pulled away from them. Andy askes Quad if he thought the marriage could be saved when they left the reunion last year and Quad admitted she didn’t. She said she and Dr. G were very dark and toxic and she had no hope of her marriage working out. Simone said that her relationship with Quad has been strained for the past few years. Quad admits that she and Simone had grown distant and she didn’t feel like she could share her personal struggles with Simone.
Andy points out that Simone credits the ladies at the reunion last year for saving her marriage and Quad didn’t feel that kind of rally from the ladies. Jackie says she didn’t see Greg remorseful and wouldn’t support a toxic relationship. Simone comments that Quad can’t take any sort of criticism and they can’t support her blindly. Quad had said in the past that she was the star of the show and that upset Simone. Quad admits to saying that but says it was wrong, they all bring something to the show and hasn’t said it since. Andy says that he thought Kari was the star of the show and we get a season 1 flashback of her. The editors are the shadiest of them all! Haha.
Toya thinks that married men will stray if they aren’t fulfilled. They all jump on Toya for that but she feels that women are more committed than men. Toya feels that single women should hang out with single women and that Quad shouldn’t go on couples trips. Toya lays down the law that Quad cannot be friends with Eugene. Quad insists that she is the same person she was as a married woman and that she will go on couples trips to learn from good marriages. Jackie disagrees with Toya because she went on a couples trip vow renewal for Simone without Curtis. Toya is coming off as really, really insecure and old fashioned here. Quad wants to find the right partner and get married again. Quad isn’t dating yet but Heavenly and Toya are ready to hook her up when she’s ready.
It’s the men’s segment and we see the ladies get ready to watch backstage. The guy montage consists of their deep friendships, the Damon/Aydin argument, and Dr. G telling the men about the divorce. Cecil is happy how his relationship with Simone has evolved and Cecil is thankful to Andy for allowing the reconciliation to happen. Curtis says Jackie is getting better at cutting back on work stuff. Aydin gets roasted for always snitching on them to Mariah. Aydin says he’s just open and honest with Mariah about everything. Andy asks Damon how it felt to be accused of cheating by Mariah and he was very hurt by Mariah. Aydin insists Mariah was pushed into saying that. The men (minus Aydin) are so affable and likeable, I love what they add to the show.
It’s 9:54 and we are just now getting to the long awaited Quad/Dr. G sit down-it doesn’t bode well for a lot of information in just a few minutes. Wait, we’re still with all the guys! When Greg left the reunion last year, he was hopeful that his marriage could be saved. Aydin felt like he had to take sides with their divorce and Cecil concurs with Aydin. It’s not sides per say, so much as who to invite on trips, to parties and such. Backstage, Quad says that the divorce is very nasty and that they won’t be friends after it’s all done. It’s 9:58 and Quad comes out to meet with Andy and Dr. G alone. We get only two minutes of this???? They haven’t spoken since June and now I get it: we get another reunion! Ok pheeew! It’s not over y’all!
Next week: The Greg/Quad sit down happens, Toya and Contessa argue and Quad cries. I’m so happy I get to recap this next week and we get another week to discuss!! See y’all next week!!!
