I somehow missed the first real episode of this season despite the casting episode recording so I am quite late to the party. I disagreed with a few of the experts selections and they got rid of one of my favorite couples, but I am ready to see where things go and look forward to the Philadelphia setting.
Kristine & Keith
This is the couple I would never have matched in a million years. The first words out of her 28-year-old mouth were, ” My name is Kristine, but you can call me QUEEN Kristine!” She’s a real estate agent at a fairly young age so I have concerns that she has a strong client base. She wants a man who makes a lot of money. Keith is a nursing student with student loans and works as a “patient care technician.” This little girl is not ready for the work this marriage will take to reap any dividends. She has been taken care of by her parents who have been in 35 year marriage. She is spoiled. Keith was raised by his grandmother and has no real marital role models. None of this made any sense to me. She is going to run right over him.
In the bridal shop, Kristine refers to herself as a princess and points out it is all about her. Did she get a demotion from queen? Her family already says that her groom will have his hands full. Her wedding dress is stripper on the top and mermaid on the bottom.

Kate & Luke
Kate is 28, musical and is dying to be married. She had only one serious relationship that ended because he was Jewish and his parents insisted that his wife be Jewish as well. Her parents recently divorced after thirty years. She does yoga and seems really laid back. Luke is a bit of a hustler. He recently bought a car he could not afford and took on some side jobs to supplement his civil engineer job. One of them was running speed dating events in bars. I works a lot.
Jasmine & Will
Jasmine was raised by traditional parents in a close family. She is successful though they really do not say what her job is. Later her chyron says she is an “assistant director” which could mean anything. She is thirty and owns her own home. She was in a very serious four-year relationship that ended because he did not want children. Will was also raised in a fairly traditional family with both a dad and a step dad. He seems financially independent and is also marriage and family focused. This seems like a good match to me. He is a bit cautious and introverted. Jasmine is a bit more outgoing. They both want marriage and children.
Jasmine is really easy-going in the bridal shop. Will has more flamboyant taste. I love the white tux he chose. Jasmine’s dad has not committed to walk her down the aisle. She is a daddy’s girl and this is upsetting her.

Stephanie & AJ
Stephanie uses the word desperate right out of the gate. She is successful in business and loves to travel. She is really in hurry to marry because she is 35. AJ is also extremely ready to find a life partner at age 37. He owns a successful business. These two could be a great match as well. AJ works from home and is always alone. He just wants someone to talk to over dinner at night. They both to be in similar places.
In the bridal shop, Stephanie has a lot of requirements. As she should. AJ has similar high expectations. The both want the other to be wowed by their look. It’s sweet.
The Four Grooms & The Four Brides
The guys have a mini bachelor party to talk about their nerves. Three of the four grooms have beards. Will’s take on the guys is that Keith is kind of low-key like he is, AJ is the life of the party. Luke is nervous about the kiss during the ceremony. AJ is going for it.
The bachelor party heats up to include friends and groomsmen. There are strippers on the party bus and production has given then a machine to make it rain. Low key Keith is hand placing bills in bikini bottoms and bras and getting lap dances on the party bus. AJ is drunk and having a blast. He tells the a stripper his mom would love her and he will bring her to Thanksgiving dinner. AJ is a lot like me. I don’t get out much so when I do I have a lot of whooping it up to get out. Luke is mortified by AJ. That’s sad. I really like Luke. He’s just a very introverted engineer freaking out because he is getting married the next day. Luke asks the strippers not to lap dance for him. I kind of like that. However, combined with him being nervous about the kiss, I’m worried that he might not be the most sexually experienced groom. And again, that’s fine.

The four brides are having a decent time together. Stephanie bought a fake ten-dollar engagement ring to try to ease herself into the concept. Jasmine shares that her family is not really supportive of the process. The ladies talk about sex on their wedding night. Everyone is open to the possibility except Queen Kristine. She will probably hold out for a ring or a Chanel bag.
The bridesmaids and friends join the lady to ramp the party to and head to a strip club. Kristine grinds on strippers with a crown on her head. Stephanie is over the stripper scene. It really is gross in real life. They have stinky oil all over then that gets all over you whether you want it to or not and you need like a Korean body scrub at the spa to get it off. Stephanie declines the stripper’s kind off to come up on stage and get grinded on. Kate goes for it. Jasmine REALLY goes for it! Kristine literally licks the stripper goo off her dancer. I’m a bit queasy now.
The Wedding Day!
Luke is nervous but I think he will love Kate. Kate is nervous and excited too! Kate hasn’t spoken to her father since he divorced her mom. She is having her brother walk her down the aisle. This was an emotional mother daughter conversation.
The gift exchanges were very cute. AJ and Stephanie’s gifts were very similar. AJ’s parents have been together since sixth grade. That’s amazing.
I am very excited to see all four weddings and how this season turns out. I love this show! What are your thoughts on these couples?
Great recap! My hubby and I love watching this show. We have seen every season. We do have a tendency to give our opinions on which couples will make it based on the first two shows. We also discuss which couples we think were mismatched from the beginning. I am really interested in the honeymoon episode so I can get an idea of their communication styles. I look forward to your next recap.
I’m so glad you’re recapping this show! Along with 90 Day Fiance and Love After Lockup, it’s my must see TV! I really like Kate, I hope all goes well for her. Queen Kristine irked me, I already feel sorry for her husband. I hope AJ tones it down a bit, and I like the match between Jasmine and Will. Can’t wait to see the last 2 weddings then honeymoons!
I’m looking forward to seeing 4 couples this season! I hope AJ doesn’t scare off Stephanie; he has a big personality and he’s super excited, it might be a bit much for her.
Kristine needs to take that princess/queen act down a few notches, it’s unbecoming and immature.
The rest seem, pleasant. I think this’ll be a good season. I really enjoy Pastor Cal too! He’s my favorite expert!
I have a sinking feeling that Kate was at the speed dating thing with her friend that Luke recognized and that’s how he knows her. He didn’t seem very happy to see her at all.
Fizz, I think you are right. This doesn’t look good. It’s like the couple where she dated his friend at the gym.
Looking forward to the recaps and watching the show. Kristine reminds me of myself at that age, looking for what I get from the marriage/husband instead of what I can give or contribute to marriage.
My poor husband was similarly warned by my family…. so there is hope for Kristine and Keith, if she learns to love him and care for him. Hopefully, she will mature and Keith will have the patience of a saint.
The other couples seem to be pretty good matches. I’m hoping for the best.
Correction: Kristine reminds of myself except I had gotten over myself long before I turned 29 years old.
I was introduced to reality in my early 20s and proceeded accordingly.
This season looks good. That Queen K bugs me already!! Keith seems too good for her already. AJ might be too much. His wife, the redhead is way too desperate. Scary. She seems bossy. Luke is creepy. He knows the wife already and isn’t impressed? Then don’t marry her! Don’t waste her time. I can’t get a hood read on Jasmine & Will yet. The bridal shower/strip club is so cheesy and passe in 2019. Why not go to a nice spa??
I meant good read…
Thanks for recapping and letting us know it’s that time again. I can’t wait to watch.
TT thanks for the great recap. I’m very excited for this season. Can’t wait for the other weddings.
I don’t get what he expected though? He had a high probability of knowing whomever they matched him with, since he’s in that “scene”. I hope he realizes there is a difference between “meeting” someone at a speed dating event and “knowing” someone.
