Happy Survivor Wednesday! Can you believe that we are only 7 days away from ending this current season of Survivor?! It feels like just yesterday we were being introduced to the new cast! Now let’s get into the penultimate episode!
Too Long Didn’t Watch
So last episode left the Davids in total disarray. We get back to camp, and Christian is so happy to have played his idol. He now sees Nick as someone that he can’t trust anymore. Speaking of untrustworthy, Nick creates a fake idol and then proceeds to “find it” in front of a group of other players. What a stupid idea. No one is fooled except for Angelina. Davie now has his sights set on taking out Nick which will all but guarantee that the Goliaths end up together in the end. I’m rolling my eyes.
The Survivors battle for a helicopter reward. It comes down to Davie vs Nick with Davie pulling ahead with the win. Angelina begs Davie to pick her since she helped him get a loved one visit as well as rice for the tribe. My oh my does Angelina love to remind us of how absolutely BENEVOLENT she is! Davie ends up choosing Nick and Kara. She threatens Davie in a confessional just like we all were probably expecting.
Angelina says she hasn’t been this angry in the game yet, but I remember her being pretty angry at the merge tribal council. Angelina is already complaining to the others about how Davie chose Kara over her for the reward. Me thinks Kara has been playing an EXCELLENT under the radar social game. Angelina says she doesn’t want to “pull the rice card” right before pulling the rice card. She goes on to make the biggest pot of rice as revenge against Davie which I find really hilarious!
Davie says Nick is his biggest enemy while Kara is his closest ally, so he feels great about his choices. He schemes with Kara about getting rid of Nick. Why is it that everyone tells Kara all the plans?! She’s definitely proving my initial thoughts coming into the merge to be wrong. She totally eats it up and is drooling at the thought of getting rid of Nick. Kara goes on to rope Alison in on the plot but tells her not to tell anyone. What does she do? Obviously, she tells Mike. Remember the Rockstar alliance? Well, that puts Mike right into the power position to decide if Nick actually leaves or not, and I think he’s going to try to save him.
Davie ends up finding the next advantage: it’s basically a one-tribal idol that he can extend by risking his vote. He contemplates a long time, going through a lot of different scenarios before beginning to pray to God to give him guidance. He decides to not risk his vote and guarantee the idol for only tonight’s tribal council. He leaves feeling confident about taking Nick out.
The immunity challenge is another balance based competition. What’s better, 2 balls clinging together or sitting apart? Don’t answer that question. It comes down to Alison & Mike with Mike finally winning his first immunity! He feels empowered to really swing the game in whichever direction he pleases.
Too Many Names to Count
The heads on the chopping block seem to be the obvious choice of Alison with Nick as the secret boot option, but Mike is really trying to force a Christian vote instead. Nick ends up revealing to Davie that his idol was actually fake which makes Davie feel a bit more comfortable with keeping him in the game. Now he’s on board with Alison leaving, which I have a feeling is not going to happen with all this flip flopping going on! Mike ends up BLOWING Davie’s entire fucking game wide open by exposing his earlier plot to take Nick out which sends Nick into a rage of wanting Davie out next. Literally everyone’s name is thrown out and I don’t know who’s going home. Mike makes a great case as to why Christian should leave next. Will Mike get his way tonight?
The theme of tonight’s council is how to get to the end not trusting others but having to lean on somebody to get to the next stage of the game. Alison lets us know that there are no tight voting groups and that everyone is playing tribal to tribal with random voting blocs. Alison feels weird about being a common threat whose name is always on the chopping block. Christian chimes in to agree with him being in a similar position as she. He reminds us that he has 15 votes so far against him which is close to the record (19). It’s time to vote, and I have no idea who’s going home. Honestly.
Jeff tallies the votes, and Davie gets up to use his one time-idol on himself. This leads Nick to play his FAKE idol. Everyone’s faces looked defeated. Alison is specifically upset. Nick then says he was trying to gauge everyone’s reactions and is now deciding to play his real idol! Angelina says he doesn’t need to play it which means he fucking needs to play it, so he does! LOL Jeff gets back to the votes. Davie, Davie, Alison, Christian, Alison, Christian, and the LAST vote is for CHRISTIAN!
What a crazy 3-2-2 risky vote! I believe Christian and Davie voted against Alison and once again, Mike has made a fantastic blindside. He had everyone split the votes between Christian & Davie! He’s padded his resume quite nicely these last two episodes! Please join me later this weekend as I give my thoughts on the Final 6 Survivors!
