Updated: Camille Grammer Meyer Lost Her Malibu Home In Woolsey Fire

November 11, 2018 by tamaratattles 66 Comments

Ever since I posted about Eileen’s house being lost in the Woolsey fire in the original post, I have been checking in constantly on Camille’s house. It looked like, from what I could tell the houses directly on the beach like Camille’s were out of the woods.

UPDATED! Eileen’s House survived the fire!

I had reached out to her on Twitter about her house and had not heard back and was quite worried about her. Sadly she just posted that she lost her beautiful beach house. She is fine and her husband is fine and they firefighters managed to save her cars and some of her possessions. She had evacuated on Friday.

My heart breaks for Camille and Eileen. Eileen’s house as I reported yesterday was a total loss.  She has not been on social media since her posts about evacuating.

The RHOBH international cast trip is happening now and the only people we know for sure that went are Rinna, Teddi and Kyle. They were headed to France I believe.

Denise and Camille were evacuating, LVP is still pouting as far as I know and no one is quite sure where Erika Jayne is.  This is going to be a very weird season of RHOBH as LVP has refused to tape with the group most all of the season. I do not think production will be kind with their edits of her.

Sadly my house couldn’t be saved. The courageous firefighters were able to save my cars and personal items recovered from my home. I thanked the fire chief and his team of firemen for all of their hard work. He took the time to explain what happened and I’m grateful for all of their hard work trying to save my home. Sad we lost our home but grateful that my family is safe. Luckily we quickly evacuated our house yesterday after a patrol car drove up the street announcing mandatory evacuations. I’m grateful for my lovely neighbors and friends who kept me informed and for their help this evening. 🙏 Thank you all for caring 💜 #woolseyfire #malibu. Special thanks to Fire Chief Rash and his brave team of firefighters. 🙏

UPDATE! This house on fire is not Camille’s beach house, it is the house she bought in Malibu in 2015 after her divorce. Camille has TWO houses in Malibu, this one, in Paradise view estates, and the beach house on Malibu Drive. The one on Malibu Drive appears to still be safe.

Denise was able to evacuate and help others evacuate as well. It’s unclear if her house has survived.

There was an episode of RHBH where Erika talked about living in Pasadena. If that’s true, her house is nowhere near the fire zone.

Yes, Tom Girardi’s mansion is in Pasadena. Also, the Daily Mail had pix of Erika, Kyle, Teddi & Rinna at the airport Friday, so I guess that’s the group going to France.

While I feel for Camille & Eileen, they are affluent women who have other homes or can afford to move. My heart breaks for the people who lost their one & only home & everything else they own. Across the state of California, somewhere between 250,000 & 300k people had to flee their homes. So sad.

Yes, it’s a sad situation. How odd fires broke out in three separate places? Your every day family suffers greatly, while I do feel sympathy for the Housewives, they too lost valuable personal possessions as well, I feel sure, but have the funds to rebuild. Where most don’t….Hopefully all are safe!

Hen, Hi I’m from Paraduse live monterey county now, Salinas valley full of haze.

Is there a church, smaller organization or ? providing relief directly to the Paradise victims?
You are so close I was thinking you might have knowledge of a reputable smaller organization that we might partner up with.
I’ve a friend visiting in Lincoln this weekend and she is bringing back papers and info if she can find it.
Those in Paradise even lost their cars. So many still missing, the state has the forensic van up there to get DNA from the remains.
        Thank you for anything.

While I’m sorry to hear about anyone losing their home, my sympathies lie first with the people and animals who’ve lost not their shit, but their lives. These women should be thanking their lucky stars that this is merely an inconvenience rather than utter, devastating ruin. They don’t have to go live under a bridge. They can afford to live in a hotel, a NICE hotel while their crap is rebuilt, rather than a cot at the red cross with two meals a day being brought in and wonder what will become of them. Rich people who lose stuff don’t garner a lick of space in my conscience. Big diff between being (rightfully) heartbroken about losing your wedding pics in a fire and losing your family in a fire…..

Your post comes off a little aggressive to me. Everyone who is suffering as a result of the fires deserves your compassion/sympathy, regardless of their financial situation. I agree that less affluent people are clearly more affected and need our help more but what makes you think people like Camille aren’t thanking their lucky stars that this is an inconvenience instead of life ruining? It doesn’t seem to me that she’s that concerned about her material things as much as she is thankful her family is safe. Praying for everyone, especially the firefighters working nonstop to end the fires.

You are 100% correct. It’s not a question of wealth. I live in NewOrleanś and was devastated by Katrina. Money has nothing to do with it. Insurance and government programs will get you back on your feet. But nothing will help you when you finally return home and try to cook for your kids but the grocery store shelves are bare. Or when you go to sleep every night from sheer exhaustion from trying to clean up. Or when you rebuild but you’re the only house on your block that did and you have no neighbors. Or the PTSD you get from having to drive thru miles and miles of debris just to go to work every morning. These are all things that everyone experiences regardless of what’s in their bank account. What has happened is truly horrible and everyone deserves compassion.

Are they taking aid from people who actually need it? No. Are they scamming charities meant for the truly needy? no.

So why are you pissy at them because they have more money than most?

Denise Richards posted they helped get animals out from a rescue group too. Just being in the experience of having to run for your life & having animals as part of the family must be a really difficult extra. I saw a story about the north CA fire where people let their horses loose & drove away for their lives. Horses were walking on a road with fire on both sides. TT posted this is ALL so heartbreaking & folks she is right.

I agree being financially stable does not lessen the heartache of losing your home. I understand the difference in being financially stable and broke ass poor.
Paradise!s nick name back in the 30!s- 50’s was Poverty Ridge. Funny because the ridge became the area of wealthier homes years later.
I fear the death toll is going to go up by a lot more. There was no warnings for most and the elderly residents wouldn’t have a chance.

Feel free to edit this next part out if it’s inappropriate. Every year during the summer and autumn months the wildfires in California seem to get worse and worse. The BBC reported that last year the cost of the damages was in the billions and as some have mentioned, many were taken by surprise this year. Something clearly needs to change.

Yes we need rain. Paradise is a old community with shanty’s built wherever years ago. Then came today with subdivisions , mostly small compared to subdivisions most of us know. 20 houses here, 15 plots there built around the helmet smelter homes.

It’s difficult to demand 200 yards if cleared space around you home when some plots were maybe triple that size.
They lived there pines, when I lived there there was no ordinance about cutting trees but most did not do it unless you were in a modern subdivision.

The deaths and the loss of so much is devastating however when they rebuild it will be done with modern building codes and the pines will nit be a factor.

Paradise was on a hillside that did not seem steep. It did have ridge on one side, another higher point on the other with a mountain behind it. When the fire cane down the mountain it came with incredible speed. The fire breaks that were there did but do anything. There are logging dirt roads all over back there, fire jumped from tree top to tree top.
Look at photos of abandoned cars, those people grabbed their children & animals and ran.
Honestly a fireman’s job is to fight fires, save property these guys had to evacuate a town before they could fight the fire. Of course it’s to save lives but Cal-Fire is a wildland fire fighting service and they are the best.
Diversion of firefighters did not help them Friday. I heard law enforcement came in and took over on Friday.

I live in Oakland and the air was so bad on Friday that it was hard to breathe. Thinking about people who have lost their lives, just like in the Oakland fire in 1991 is just horrible. I think that the reason for the massive amounts of wildfires in CA is due to the many years of droughts that we have been having, and some climate change issues, but I am not a scientist so this is just an educated observation.

If anyone knows animal relief pls post. We’ll hear about this in next day or two in media. Sounds like southern CA is active for the animals. Climate change and years of no rain has caused so much damage. I watered my oaks for the first time in 35 years. My neighbor asked if I mowed my property again, nope, no rain to make it green again.

If every reputable scientist says climate change is our most urgent problem I would not argue that. Seems rather silly.

I live in OC and all fine down here. The reason for these fires is hat CA does not do controlled burns as they do in Tahoe on Nevada side. CA would rather save trees than humans and animals. That combined with Santa Ana winds are a recipe for disaster. I feel for all who lost homes, just not so much for those with multiple homes and unlimited funds. Many don’t have that and my heart hurts for them. As for donations, your local fire department knows exactly how to get it directly to the people. My church is doing a clothing drive and sending it to fire department in Paradise and Santa Rosa County. They will get it directly to those in need. You can always google CA Fires and there is info there. God help everyone here cuz we have 2 more days with single digit humidity and extremely strong winds. Everyone here is glued to news until this weather passes. Prayers for those who suffered loss. Rich or poor.

For better or for worse, the fires are burning in a very affluent section of Los Angeles, which is why you’re hearing about all the celebrities who are losing their homes. Areas like that have strict zoning laws and make it verrrry hard on anyone trying to sleep out in alleys and such.

Generally speaking, the majority of homeless “camps” are in the cities and inner regions of Los Angeles (not in the luxuriantly priced beachside communities) where they can be closer to Public Services.

Actually, there is a huge homeless problem in Orange County. It’s actually making the rich liberals rethink the whole “open borders and sanctuary city” thing. The easiest way to explain the logistics of open borders is to have the immigrants actually set up tents in their neighborhood.

Actually homeless like to gravitate to beach cities because they can always find hidden places on the beach to sleep and they like beach living. Poor Stanley the Giraffe is still out there in the fire area where part of his encampment has burned. T the Malibu Reserve They say they don’t have the money to move him and now he his eyelashes are singed and he has had nose bleeds. There are all kinds of animals suffering too.

One bit of good news following my three friends losing their homes in Paradise. A friend’s father’s house in Paradise was SAVED! He was informed it was gone. A fellow photojournalist gained access and sent her photos of Dad’s house. Most of the neighborhood is gone. Don’t know if he will go back there to live, but at least he has a choice.

Two updates: The Lucky Dog Ranch was spared. It was in a small pocket that wasn’t burned.

Stanley the giraffe is safe. This is from an IG report by a person I trust implicitly. She was at the Malibu wines and beer garden in West Hills last night. It sounded like the manager was doing a song and dance about the “evacuation,” which was just to a pasture. Horse boarders were lied to. Before that, I read PETA was involved. The truth will come out, but most important, Stanley is safe. (Tamara, I sent you an email message.)

Madison from MDLLA he’s good but his neighborhood is not.

madisonmalibuThis is my neighborhood entrance. I’m one of the very few properties that if standing as most of my neighborhood is destroyed completely. I’m confused about feeling grateful and saddened by it at the same time. .
Right now, it just is not possible to try and comprehend the level of distruction, heartache, and loss. The constant new footage and text messages I receive from friends, clients & loved ones makes my mouth drop further to the floor. .
On the bright side, there are many of us organizing teams of people to assist with everything from immediate needs/resources, while others that are planning fundraising benefits, and others forming collaborations with industry professionals to help find housing and so on…#staytuned to hear about these things as I will be circulating all types of things that inform people helpful information.
    .
I am happy to be in a community that understands one another and grateful to those who understand LOSS,

Neil Young and Daryl Hannah lost their home to the Woolsey Fire. This is the second home he has lost in a fire. Young blasts Trump pretty good on FB.

    Thanks for the information, TT.
It’s a confusing time and we are all hearing & reading conflicting things.
Thanks for clearing it all up.
My heart goes out to all involved in the fires.
    Devastating, to say the least.

Finger is being pointed at utility companies out there, 2 of them, as the possible cause. I think this has been blamed before as several skeevy lawyers seem to be all over it. Awful.

I often wondered why CA doesn’t seem to do controlled burns, just assumed it was all the expensive real estate taking precedence.

I can’t comprehend that all those burned out cars may have been occupied by folks trying to evacuate? My god, those poor people.

Unfortunately there is only one main road in and out of Paradise. My parents live about 3 hours up the canyon from Chico, CA. So I’m familiar with Paradise, Concow, etc.

Most of the people I know that evacuated the Paradise area lost their homes. The entire town is gone

Time will tell the effects of the fires on us all. Humans and animals alike exposed to the elements of this fire. The air quality for days has been awful and I for one have had a chronic cough from breathing in all this muck in the air the past few days.
