Kenya Moore Daly Has Given Birth To A Baby Girl!

November 4, 2018 by tamaratattles 60 Comments

Brooklyn Doris Daly has arrived, y’all! Kenya just posted on Instagram!

Kenya says, “She’s so perfect and strong! Marc was incredible in the delivery room. I lost a lot of blood so I’m very weak but they both were strong for me. God is so good. We are blessed and doing well.
My heart is so full at the abundance of love for our family! We love you all.”

Brooklyn was born at 9:39 a.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 4. She weighs 5 lbs. and 12 oz and is “very alert and active” according to People.

The name Brooklyn has been floating around for a couple of months now and it was intended for either a girl or a boy. The middle name Doris, honors Kenya’s grandmother who raised her.

There are no photos yet and the baby is likely in NICU due to the low birth weight and preeclampsia. People says it was an “emergency C section.” Kenya has been in the hospital since at least Saturday.

I guess that baby didn’t want to miss the premiere of RHOA tonight!

CONGRATULATIONS Kenya and Marc. Such an Iconic Queen, only Kenya’s baby would come out of the womb petty and shady as can be. Kenya’s delivery news is everywhere, no one cares about RHOA premiere. Lol even Andy Cohen is trying to ride Kenya’s coattails by sending “congratulations. I love that Kenya always wins, she plays chess while they play checkers. What a beautiful name for what I’m sure is a gorgeous baby girl. I wonder how many times Kenya will be brought up on WWHL tonight…

Shadiest Grove – I don’t understand your comment “only Kenya’s baby would come out of the womb petty and shady as can be”. The rest of your post is very sweet, so I don’t imagine it was meant in a negative way, and it could very well be that I’m just being obtuse. Could you, or someone else explain it to me?

    same category as a “preemie”?

A baby is a preemie if it is born three weeks or more before the due date. It would be close. But the baby being almost six pounds is a good thing.

The weight is low, but the issue with babies like Brooklyn is the development of the lungs. They are lastnto develop so early babies have a tough time breathing in their own.

When I had my emergency C-section, it was classified that way because I had preeclampsia and was not to full term NOT because it was a “rushed hurried do it now” emergency. In fact, the c-section was delayed for 48 hours while I received a series of steroid shots which would help the babies (twins) lungs develop. I then had an amniocentesis to verify lung function and once the results came back good, we did the csection. In my case the csection was done because, due to my preeclampsia, the babies were not growing as they should and the risk to my life was no longer less than the benefit to the babies.

I hope so too. My cousin’s first was born by C-section after over a day of labor (fucking stupid doctor). Baby was like 9 lbs.

3 years later, different city, different doctor – he sits her down and tells her he thinks they should schedule a c-section, that he thinks the baby will be somewhere around 11 lbs. He thought my cousin would fight it (she, during her pregnancy, liked doing things as natural as possible with diet and exercise, and it worked for the most part)

She whipped out her calendar so fast the doc laughed.

She said the difference between an emergency c section after such labor and her body just being worn out from it vs. a well rested planned c-section was night and day. Huge. In pain, pain management, and recovery.

I’ve been a looong time reader of this blog and even posted comments some years ago as “Lurker”( the original one, LOL).

Being *happy* for Kenya doesn’t even begin to convey my feelings for Kenya Moore today. Yes, I don’t know her and have never met her but sometimes we become invested in other people’s life journeys because of what that journey teaches us all in the end. I have been a fan of hers since that day in 1993 when I saw her win Miss USA.

Thank you Marc for coming into her life when she desparately needed someone like you to love her completely, warts and all. Thank you God for granting her, her wish of motherhood. Please God surround Brooklyn Doris with your Angels granting her a strong and healthy life as well as to Kenya and Marc. Wishing the Dalys all the bliss that they deserve.
