It is interesting that Bravo is planning to do three hours of home and garden type programming on Friday nights. Mostly because the last season of Don’t Be Tardy is gathering dust on a shelf somewhere rather than being aired on its usual Friday night.
Tonight is the first episode of a show where people looking for a new house but either don’t have the time to find one can’t agree with their spouse over major issues hand over “their life savings” and allow strangers to find and purchase the house for them without even seeing it. And a designer comes in and gets the house turnkey ready for them to move into. It’s really not as dumb as I thought. It’s a lot like the extreme makeover show where the team came in and did huge renovations and designed the homes for families in need. It’s just that in this case they are paying for everything and it’s a new location.
Jennifer and Eric are getting married in a couple of months. So they need someone to find them a new place to live. Jennifer has way too much stuff. She needs to purge her closets.
These two both want their own space in the new house. He wants a man cave, she wants a diva den. They have just over half a million dollars including everything including the renovations.
I like the first house. It does sort of look like a haunted house though. Also, do they really need five bedrooms? The master bath has carpet. Ew.
The second house is smaller, less expensive with lots more room in the budget for renovation. The brick exterior is pretty fugly. I’d paint it. The basement is flooded. That has to be a no. Also the kitchen is completely unacceptable.
The third house is adorable and the hardwood floors are in great shape. It’s quirky but this is the one I would pick.
The realtor picked house number one. They hate it before they even go inside. It’s brown! These people have no vision for what they can do with this house. The thing is this house has the smallest renovation budget. It’s a cute house on the outside. I don’t see the problem.
Well, what did you think of the reveal? It was a bit too black, white and grey for me. I don’t think the guy that painted the kitchen bricks white cooks. I didn’t like the geometric wallpaper. I thought the exterior was lovely. It was a mixed bag for me. It’s a fun little Friday night show though, don’t you think?
I thought Eric was going to punch someone when he saw the brown house. I liked the design team and thought the end result was lovely. The Master suite and Diva Den came out really well. There were a couple of design choices that I hated but that happens with most design shows. BIB shows promise and I will watch it again.
We would watch in a second – but alas – Canadians are not good enough to watch ?
I am looking forward to the Home Sweet show and love the Thom and Carson show. I have this one on the DVR.
SO happy that DBT is on the shelf- hope it never sees the light of day and KBZ and her bunch go away soon.
Thanks as always TT
Every TV designer is now only using gray, and so are all the lemmings that follow them. That said, they really are fun shows and I think Bravo is aiming for HGTV audiences.
Ooh! I’ll DVR this! I could watch these shows for days. I watch every single House Hunters Int’l that isn’t somewhere in the islands. Europe are my favorites or Spanish Colonial Mexican homes.
I love House Hunters International, too. Would be better without the house hunters though, who say they want local charm, but then want an oven big enough to cook a 25 lb turkey. I like the ones in Europe too.
One should never paint brick.
Will watch this show again, found it stressful though. I had little hope Jennifer would like the closed off kitchen even with it lightened up. Thought the stove top area came out really well, it looked so dark and dirty before.
Carson and Thom’s show is interesting, I never realized home owners were so difficult.
Sweet Home Judges redesigned home was beautiful. That was a huge job that flowed beautifully I’m one of those that has always liked grey, been using it for 35 years
Do much better than Tardy that I did not watch.
Samuel would a fire stick help you get programs you can’t vuew now? Is there a way you can check before buying? I’m amazed at what I can see and I know Im not using it to its maximum.
Amazon Black Friday less than $100.
Lots better than Don’t Be Tardy! Kim Z and her family are so fake that the show is just horrible. Enjoy all the shows on Bravo tonight!
The kZB Family are a group of loud vulgar hillbillies. IMO ❤️
Kim Z Beirmann family. Sorry Tamara ❤️
Aw thanks! 🙂 You do know the commenting rules! 🙂
I’ve both loved and hated Kim over the years. Seven years ago I really liked her. I think Kroy was a calming force for a bit. Then he turned in to her little bitch. RHOA has done Kim no favors.
These reality people remind me so much of when stupid people when the lottery and it ruins their lives.
I found the living and dining rooms way too formal for this couple. That brick monstrosity in the kitchen would have come down. Nothing could make that look good. I did enjoy all three shows. Something interesting to watch on Friday nights instead of reruns or unloading the DVR. I did not watch TFTP. I would not give that train wreck of a mother one tick of viewership to monetize.
I agree about the kitchen brick but they did not have the money so that was a good enough for now solution.
What’s the story with DBT? Did Kim piss someone off or is the season that uninteresting? If they go broke, move to Montana, I’d probably start watching again- seeing Kim so miserable would be fantastic.
I am loving the Bravo New home shows- HGTv is getting a bit boring.
Having taken down way too much wallpaper over the years, I would NEVER put it up anywhere. What’s up with all the wallpaper these days? Yes, it may look interesting, but it’s a highly personal choice. Change the room’s purpose or move or trend, it’s gotta go.
What was that stuff they put on front of the house. Omg that was beautiful. I would have torn that brink down in the kitchen and done something like that. I had to keep going back the ladies shirt said Recycled Granite. Because I couldn’t find and anything called granite artisan. I looked it up. That really made the front of that house pop. I really liked what they did on the house. I’ll be watching again and hope i see more happy couples.
Since I love HGTV, I’ll have to check out these shows. Thanks for the recap.
So did the Bierman’s just piss off Bravo’s brass that badly?
Is it as unusual as it seems for the airing of a show to be this delayed?
It has been much longer than normal. I think at first they just wanted to distance the premiere of DBT from Kim’s behavior on the reunion. Now they are just having some scheduling issues because they changed the filming dates for a couple of the RH shows and things got complicated.
Kim has pissed her followers off everybody has been complaining to Bravo and nbcuniversal about how she has pissed and blocked all her followers that don’t agree with her. And since Kroy is executive producer on the show everything is scripted and fake. It was bad enough last year.
Again, when these reality people get a producer credit, it doesn’t mean a thing. They have no creative control over the storyline. They do get in on one of the producer email chains so they have more of an idea where things are headed, but it is a meaningless vanity title for their resume and an extra very tiny check.
Also anyone who “complains to Bravo” about who Kim blocks on Twitter is a complete and utter moron. She can block anyone we wants to for whatever reason she likes. You are not entitled to have access to tell her what a dumb fuck she is,
I never said the first negative thing to her I just made a statement and ask a question about the show. She didn’t like the question so she blocked me. This was after she cussed me told me to get f*** and to look in the mirror that I would never be as pretty as she and she has no idea what I look like!
By the way the comment was on an outfit she wore on the show and not her beauty cough cough!
Ah. I could see being able to continue that interaction must have been a tragic loss for you.
but, I wanna’ go tell Kim how I “feel”, Im sure my words will enlighten her to make changes, it’s okay I’m mean and nasty. I need to be unblocked.
//giggles
I hear that!?
Watched the show and I’d rather have the style and decor of the man cave over the diva den. Can we retire the term man cave? Ugh, makes me think of Neanderthal males being all bro.
Will watch again, but Carson and Thom are the real Friday night draw. I could watch these two all day.
Me too it was so refreshing!?
oh yes it was such a tragic loss for her to block me????????
How did Bravo et al react when you emailed them about this travesty?
I HATES carpet in bathrooms. It’s so trailer trash unsanitary. Do ritzy spas have carpet? F no.
Worse than carpet in a bathroom was the fuzzy toilet seat cover at a friend’s parents’ house. Not covering the lid, covering the seat, like a fuzzy shower cap with a donut hole. GRRRRRRROOOOOSSSS!
That’s nasty. Yuck
BTW: Sweet Home is focusing more on Jennifer’s design business. I would love to read what Tamara thinks of Jennifer’s new project manager, Alex —“I don’t know who was at the Alamo — Napoleon?” and “I have no idea who Liberace is.” nor what an adjective is, but I bet she has a college degree. The show has Tubbers and Pumps, but not enough of either.
I really liked the show. Alex is TV gold! And yes, the show needs more of Pumps.
Yes, I’m really enjoying Bravo’s new Friday night line up. I don’t know where Kim comes into it. Who cares about that over-age slut? Carson and Thom are what I used to watch Jeff and Co. for. Love house
make-overs. The only thing I really don’t understand is the wave of changing floors to hard wood or facsimile. What’s wrong with carpet? Floors aren’t freezing, floors don’t show dust, floors aren’t slippery with carpet. Certain places I wouldn’t have carpet, bathrooms for example, but I’d never have cold wood floors in a room intended for cozy family get together. Other than that fly in the ointment, I’d give my left
pinky for a kitchen like those on TV.
