For some reason I have four copies of this episode on my DVR. I’m not really going to acknowledge this fake prenup storyline other than to say I’ve really had enough of this. Tommy is not stupid.
I am interested in Destiney’s “my father might be a spy or a criminal or in the mafia” storyline. Destiney’s mom is still reluctant to help. It sounds like the PI has found a relative of her father’s.
You know what is really odd to me? Why did they have “Nema’s girlfriend” on the show just for like one episode where he could dump her on TV for “thinking about kissing” Golnesa. This week, Nema’s mother came to visit from the east coast. Why the heck is on the green screen for Nema’s talking heads? It looks like a Persian furniture and art shop. Nema brings up the ex-girlfriend as if he hasn’t spoken to his mother in two months. Then we get the weird story about how he was raised by his father and Mona was raised by his mother. Is it me or do they say everything twenty times on this season. When Nema tells his mom he has PTSD from being separated from his mother and sister, his mom cries.
Reza’s house seems like it is taking longer than Valley View. Why does Reza not understand marital assets? He talks to Adam like he’s a dog. Adam is starting to think Reza doesn’t really want to buy a baby. For Reza, once again, it is all about money. Reza seems to think that he is destined for divorce like the rest of his family.
We finally get a scene with Asa when Adam goes to her fancy caftan store to talk about babies. Asa still hates MJ, as one would expect when your “friend” calls your baby a bastard. Mike doesn’t keep up with her much anymore. Asa still texts with Adam and Reza and GG.
Adam talks about Reza making their baby situation all about budgets and spreadsheets and Asa says Reza may not even want a baby. At the very least, he certainly isn’t rushing to start the process. After their talk, Asa gives Adam an $700 blanket.
Mercedeh has been seeing a fertility doctor for four years. It sounds like they have only one embryo so it’s great that it implanted! Things seem to be going well, and it’s a boy! I had somehow already forgotten that. Ah clarification, it seems she does have more embryos but due to her age the doctor just wants to do one. As big as Kenya got, I wondered if she was having twins but I think we would know by now if she was.
When Adam returns with the blanket, and a giant litter box, Reza is not impressed with the blanket. Adam goes straight to asking Reza if he really wants to have a child. Reza says he does, but he’s not ready to do it right away. Adam wants to raise their kids with Asa’s baby and Reza says he is not working off of Asa’s time table. He wants to plan for the baby. And finances are an important of that.
MJ is throwing a party to celebrate her upcoming wedding and celebrate with her friends and family. Shervin shows up in a biker vest on a motorcycle with Golnesa on the back. Both of them look like they are going to a biker bar. After a glass of wine, GG decides to toss her wedding band in the pool. Because GG.
Just before Mike’s call time for the party, everyone talks about how short his fuse is since he just broke up with Morgan. He brings the girls flowers and the boys power bars and gives some sort of odd speech about being supportive of him during his breakup. Then he gives Reza a kitten. Everyone cries. Oh it seems Reza’s cat died and now he has a new one.
GG and Nema do their awkward foreplay routine. This leads to whole montage of the Shalom situation. Because we haven’t shown that enough. I just don’t see GG being serious with the Persian John Boy Walton.
MJ and her mother go to a flower wholesaler and I am so wishing I was there. I am not a fan of “flower walls.” I hope MJ is not serious about having one. Meanwhile, Vida is not a fan of any of the flowers that MJ likes.
Shervin takes Golnesa to the divorce attorney. Again. Then we talk about her ring obsession. AGAIN.
Next time, the wedding day looms and we have the rehearsal dinner. Reza tries to sell shampoo.
