Somehow I got behind two episodes of Teen Mom OG. I watched the first one recently without recapping and I’m just going to go straight to this one. I will say that I was really open minded about Bristol and Cheyenne, and now I just find myself wondering why they are on my TV. THE WORLD is making me cranky and irritable these days. So maybe it is just my current piss poor attitude and desire to just say fuck it to everything. Alas, “fuck everything” isn’t really an option at this point in time, so hey! Let’s recap some Teen Mom!
I used to like the cast talking to production on camera when it first started. But man, they sure do treat the producers like therapist.
I hate reality scenes that are so obviously fake. Like Bristol telling her mom about Dakota moving all of her stuff into the guest room when she returns to California. We know damn well she called her mother the minute it happened to complain. We do not need to see the fake complaining. She is going to send Tripp to Alaska with Levi for a few days to keep him away from her arguments with Dakota. I don’t think Dakota is the problem.
Bristol and her Luis Vuitton Neverfull and her sister go for mani/pedis at a fancy place in LA. As teen moms do. The Neverfull did not get a mani or a pedi, that’s just piss poor sentence construction. I don’t care. I also do not get women who think going for a mani/pedi is a fun outing. I hate it, but the last time I went, I went with my sister and my niece and it is way more bearable with someone there with you. Why is she telling HER SISTER about how long she dated Levi? I get she was seven at the time, but this is stuff that gets talked about at Thanksgiving long before now.
Levi’s daughters are just ADORABLE and his wife is very pretty. Wait, WHAT? Bristol stayed in LA after Tripp left for Alaska (after being voted off first on DWTS Junior) which meant Dakota had to go to DC for PTSD treatments and leave her kid with a nanny? I can’t bear to leave Banjo to travel anymore. How does someone just decide to stay in LA a few more days while neither parent is with their children? Is this how motherhood works? I have no defense for Bristol anymore. I believe it was just today she moved into a pretty nice house. At least I just saw the house today. I think she is renting it though. I feel like she will try to move back to Alaska.
Tyler and Catelynn have flown out to the meet with Butch at his rehab center so that he can make amends. Tyler wants the counselors to tell him what they are supposed to do in the process. Do they just listen? Or should they respond? Tyler’s sister is also there. The amends conversation will not be filmed. Tyler seems angry with Butch. I’m glad to see it, I don’t think he expresses his anger very well.
After the meeting with Butch the Tyler and his sister give Catelynn the full report. Apparently, Butch didn’t have a lot of things on his lists. Tyler said he rattled off several things including his failed suicide attempt as a child. His sister thinks he covered most of their issues. I don’t think she has even acknowledged them all yet. She says Tyler and Butch have a lot more issues. Either his sister or Catelynn said they don’t think Tyler knows how to forgive. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Tyler says if his dad uses again, he can’t keep doing this with him.
Later, a counselor sits down with Butch and his sister to talk about forgiveness and how the amends meeting went. Butch looks great again. But he feels terrible. He forgot about Tyler’s suicide attempt. Tyler doesn’t seem like he is ready to forgive that yet. That would be a huge thing to forgive someone for.
Zach and Cheyenne continue to fight about Cory. Cory is well liked by Cheyenne’s family and was invited to a street fair with her family, without Zach. Zach had other plans. It’s obvious that Cody and Cheyenne should be together.
When Zach came home from the father son dinner he went to, he came home drunk and they had a huge fight and Cheyenne dumped him and kicked him out. Cheyenne says no one will want to date her with all her baggage. Chile please. You know you are super pretty. Stop fishing for compliments and being all extra.
Cheyenne tells Cory that she dumped Zach. Cory says even if they start dating again, Zach not living there is the best option.
Andrew is in LA for work so Amber has rented a place for a month for them to stay with the baby. Because that is how teen pregnancy works. Gary and his whole family bring Leah out for a visit. Kristina suggests a girl’s day for with her and Leah and Amber to go get mani/pedis. She also offers to babysit the kid so that
she can have a night without Amber Amber can have a night off of motherhood. Because that is how motherhood works.
Amber and Andrew have a night at a hotel and then text Gary to say that Amber wants to take Leah parasailing alone instead of going for a mani/pedi with Kristina. I get it. Kristina makes it into a whole deal with Leah though. Your halo is slipping, Kristina. When Amber and Andrew show up to get Leah, Kristina’s kid has a meltdown and this causes the baby to cry. It did not immediately occur to me that Amber’s new plan meant Kristina was stuck babysitting the baby on her trip. They ended up having the kid in their hotel room for 24 hours.
This family seems the most normal to me. Maci is celebrating her birthday earlier because it falls on Jace’s weekend with his grandparents. I see Jenelle or most of the other teen moms making a big stink about this but Maci is very “go with the flow” about most things. The are going to a local baseball game and Bentley gets to throw out the first pitch. It was really sweet. There were hardly any fans in the stands but Bentley seemed to be having the time of his life. I just finished reading Let’s Pretend This Never Happened by The Blogess. In her book she talks about how giving all of her birthday cake wishes to her daughter. I thought that was really sweet. Maci’s birthday celebration reminded me of that.
Shout out to The Ashley, I think that is her site that Maci just pulled up on her cell phone about Ryan’s arrest. I’ve pretty much stopped signing releases for these shows because they never show the site name. What’s the point? You have to be really familiar with the site to know what it is. I love Taylor but I wish he would trim up that beard just a bit. The recent photos of David Eason show his beard has left Duck Dynasty and gone straight to Isis terrorist. I’m just saying it’s a fine line, Taylor and you are bucking up on it. Trim it up, and get some beard oil.
Maci has to tell Bentley about his father’s arrest. She doesn’t want him to hear it from kids at school. Then she dropped him off for visitation. He asked his grandfather about it privately and his granddad says the best thing is he still has his sobriety. His parents are saying he is in jail for not doing his community service. I’m not sure that is accurate. Kids on reality shows named Ryan don’t fare so well. They are also worried about Mackenzie who is pregnant. These parents are going through a lot. Hopefully, one day Ryan will be at a place to make amends. Ryan has been in an extended rehab facility for a couple of months now I believe.
Maci has another birthday celebration with her husband and their kids on her actual day. She’s upset that Bentley is dealing with his father’s arrest without her. She is also distressed that Ryan is out of jail and she thinks he is using again. She is worried about him being there.
