This has been a great season and I am truly shocked that everyone stayed together at the end. I thought Tristan would surely bail when he found out he married a psycho stalker. I mean nothing makes better reality TV than the wife getting pulled off the plane and being arrested when she is en route to her honeymoon.
Sadly, even though this show has a small group of followers here, it’s still a big site and a lot of shitheads show up to inform us how things end as if the have just discovered Google and we don’t have it yet. I came really close to being unspoiled this season. SO VERY CLOSE. Let’s check in and see who is still together. I am starting this recap at two a.m. just to avoid some new idiots from weighing in before I can see the show.
Up first, Tristan and Mia. Tristan is just cute as a button. Tristan said there was no middle ground in his marriage. Everything was either fantastic or miserable. Then Doctor Cal said when he first met Tristan he didn’t like him but after getting to know him he found he was a great guy,
Oh y’all this is news to me. Mia bailed right after the decision day filming. As the host said, “So the TV show is over, I’m out?” Tristan said he was going through his social media and she saw him looking at a video one of his exes posted and she got jealous and took off.
Tristan goes off stage and Mia comes out. In her version of events, Mia said when the cameras and counselors left it was like having training wheels taken of her bike. She was left to drive herself and drove herself into a ditch. Mia says it was the very next day after filming (perhaps I misunderstood Tristan) Tristan was showing her pictures of his ex-girlfriend and was talking her up. The host says so he was just like, “Check out my ex-girlfriend?” She says yes. He showed her pictures of his ex in a bikini. I am not believing Mia because she is a lying liar who lies and it doesn’t look like the therapists are either. Then she says three days later his mom called her and told her and the sound went out. Sorry. When I have to tape ten or so shows in one night the late night shows have a lot of hiccups. Hopefully, when they bring Tristan out I will be able to figure out what she said, but watching with intermittent sound, the counselors don’t appear to be buying what she is selling. I think that is why the host mentioned the possibility that Mia was done right after the show.
When Tristan comes out, they ask him right off if they are still together. He says they are divorced. They asked who initiated the divorce. He says he did, because “after the last walkout, he could not bet his future on an unstable woman.” Mia disagrees. She says she initiated the divorce. She says after the last blowup they tried counseling and she drove to Houston. She makes it seem like driving three hours to try to save her marriage is some big commitment. Then he said he wanted a divorce, I believe the implication is either she drove down for nothing, or he said that during the counseling. Mia is claiming she filed but the spoiler assholes have said that he filed.
And just like that we move on to Dave and Amber.
Oh wow! In the flashback scenes we flash back to SCENES THEY DIDN’T SHOW US but were in the promos. Like Dave saying if he would have known that Amber was the girl that one of his friends at the gym had dated and apparently said negative things about, he would have dropped out of the show.
Amber comes out with brown hair and either no extensions or she got her fried ends cut off. She is much prettier as a brunette. Amber says that he was really upset with her because someone he knew for a couple of years had slept with/ dated her. Dr. Pepper knew all about this and kept trying to tell them to change gyms. It was Amber who didn’t want to change gyms. Amber says she moved out because he was unhappy about the gym situation? Is that what she said? Did she choose a gym over her husband? It’s late and I really don’t follow this conversation at all. Pastor Cal says moving out should not be an option when you are married.
Dave comes out with his side of the story. Dave said the cameras and the experts were his safety net and when that left, they lost their way. Dave’s version of the story is that he went golfing one day and came home and Amber had moved out. There was no conversation and he had no idea she was leaving him.
When Amber comes out again, she says she probably would not have moved out if the cameras and experts were not there. She says they gave her accountability for her actions. It sounds like she really regrets leaving. Dave says that while she did tell him it was a mistake to move out, they are not going to just move right back in together. That was a pretty big thing she did.
Dave says they are still married, at least legally. Amber really wants another chance and has accepted all the responsibility for their separation. Dave says that he doesn’t really see a future with Amber. They both say they still “have love for each other.” I sort of want them to work it out. But it seems that they will not.
On to Danielle and Bobby.
Danielle is out first. Everything is perfect. Gag me with a spoon. Bobby comes out and gushes over Danielle. The experts gush over this couple. Their entire segment was like two minutes. Because lack of conflict makes for boring TV.
The Reunion of All Three Couples
Everyone gets together and the other two couples all secretly want to poke out Danielle and Bobby’s eyes with sporks. The host asks Mia how she is dealing with her mugshot being all over the Internet. She jokes, “If I’d known I would have worn more makeup.” She says the charges were dropped. That is true, but they were dropped because the state of Louisiana did not want to pay the costs involved with extraditing her from Texas. I think Tristan decided to file for divorce when the mugshot hit the Internet. She was never really truthful with him about what she did and he gave her the benefit of the doubt and begged her to come clean and she still liked to him.
Dave reiterates in front of the group that he feels divorce is the best thing for them. He feels bad that Amber feels like she failed in the marriage, but he thinks divorce is the way to go. BUT SHE DYED HER HAIR FOR YOU, DAVE! lol. kidding. I agree with Dave and is crazy socks. Amber says the moment Dave realized that his friend had dated her previously, that was the beginning of the end. The experts suggest two months of therapy to try to get past it. Dave says no. Dr Pepper says that he needs to consider that everyone has a past and that was then and this was now. She suggests that he may be overly concerned with that situation. Dave feels attacked and says he put everything into this and it did not work out. He said he did his best to move on. He’s pissed by Dr, Pepper questioning why Amber dating someone he was friends with before they met was such a big deal to him.

The host asks who would still have been married at first sight knowing what they know now. Everyone except Mia and Amber raise their hands. They both said it was a lot more difficult and emotional and having it all out there for the world to see. The host asks about fans and Amber says she doesn’t have any but the blond therapist raises her hand. I can’t imagine the social media crap that Amber gets. Or Mia.
Tristan has said he was bashed for colorism. I don’t even recall this in his piece at all, but I don’t pay attention to the interviews at all until they pick the finalists. They show Tristan saying he didn’t want to date/marry anyone darker than him. He said so many people judged him and attacked his family. I try not to follow these people on social media to avoid being spoiled. Tristan tears up talking about the attacks on his family. I totally get this. It’s happened to me and literally all I did was have surgery. There are scummy people on social media who don’t like YOU but decide to bring your whole family into shit. It’s insane.
Tristan says he is not a colorist, he’s not a racist,he doesn’t hate himself, he doesn’t hate his family, he loves his family (that is another thing with trolls the suggest that you hate your family or your family hates you? What the hell is that about? Do they not have families or even know how they work? ) Tristan cries. Dude. THERE IS NO CRYING IN SOCIAL MEDIA! Block and move on! They are idiots that do not know you. You know your family and they don’t.
And finally, the big announcement that several fucktards decided to send me and are now blocked from emailing me. Bobby and Danielle are having a baby. Everyone pretends to be shocked and happy but Amber wants a baby so bad she can hardly stand it. I’m sure that will happen for her. I kind of feel bad that even with her natural hair color Dave is not reconsidering. I feel like they made it through some hard stuff an should stay married.
They announce Married at first sight, happily ever after with Bobby and Danielle (barf) Shawniece and Jephte (YES! they just had their kid) and Ashley and Anthony (meh.). Tonight that Honeymoon Island thing started. I will probably recap it on the weekends when I feel like it, kind of like Teen Mom.
Thanks for watching this show with me you guys!
Thank you for recapping it TT and not stopping bcuz of the blocked asshats.
Amber reminds me of a little poodle I used to have…”Do you love me??? Do you love me ?? Tell me !!! Tell me !!! Show me !!!!! Show me !! “… but God I loved that dog…. 😁 Dave seems VERY passive/aggressive to me – with a mean side. It seems some of his comments to Amber were meant to send her down the insecurity rabbit hole & he always seemed to have the tiniest smirk when he said them.
I agree about Dave. He would give her a compliment,, followed by a slight put down (for instance, the perfume on the carriage ride.) He needs a complacent wife. Amber would not meet that criteria.
I didn’t care for Dave at all. I found him to be very judgemental. Everything had to be his way because it was the best way. And both of you are 100% spot on….he would compliment her and immediately follow it with a dig. No wonder Amber didn’t know whether to shit or wind her watch. She had insecurity issues as it was. I knew he would be a tool when they went for a salsa lesson on the honeymoon. It was something that she wanted to do. He bitched and moaned about it the whole time. I hate when people ruin your good time by being negative. Usually people are on their best behavior when they first meet. I think Amber is better off without him. As for Amber and Mia leaving, they weren’t in their apartments. It might have been different if they picked out a new place together. I would have gone back to MY place if I didn’t feel loved and respected as well.
I know Mia lied about her stalker background. And I think Tristan took a leap of faith to keep going. I respected him for that. He had a bit of a mean streak in him and snapped at her several times. Like when he made the nasty comment about her family. I would have smacked him upside the head. I know my family tree is a wreath but no one will talk shit about them…but me. I also get the feeling that Tristan would throw it back in her face that he decided to give her a second chance each time they got into a fight about something. I don’t think either are really bad people, but both will be difficult in any relationship they are in.
I could see Danielle’s baby bump when she sat down. I didn’t find them boring at all. Actually, it was refreshing to see a success and a couple getting along and working things out for a change. I’m looking forward to the new show.
I totally agree. I ended up really not liking Tristan. He had this scary hidden side. He was a baby who accepted very little responsibility.
I like Danielle and Bobby a lot.
I liked Dave at first, but then he seemed hypercritical and analytical to a fault. And I agree that he checked out the moment he learned that his gym friend had dated her. I wonder what that friend said. The fact that Dave wanted them both to change gyms tells me that Dave can’t think for himself.
I also ended up skeptical of Tristan in the end. I never liked or trusted Mia, having heard from the get go about her legal problems. But Tristan’s reactions were pretty harsh, as well.
I missed the majority of the show, but judging by the distant Mia and Tristan were sitting from each other, I thought they were not together. Dave and Amber I wasn’t sure, they were closer to each than Mia and Tristan. I had no thoughts about Bobby and Danielle. I would rather not see them on the new show.
I silently watched. Everyone will be divorced in 6 months. Needy meets crazy.
I didnt care for Amber from day one. To me, her hidden agenda was to find a financially secure guy and lock down that child support. Her hair was a distraction also. Either keep the roots up or match the root, when there is such a screaming difference. Yeah, I said it. Her hair looked so burned and dry, I wanted to drizzle some olive oil on it. Changing her hair color for Dave (yeah, I said it) was probably her last ditch effort to snag him. High maintenance, needy and insecure. Blah. Bobby and Danielle were boring and emotionally controlled. Yawn. Maybe that’s the combination to make a happy relationship. I wouldn’t know. I wish Tristan the best of luck. Mia’s gonna do what Mia does.
Bobby and Danielle are too perfect. It seems like he didn’t stand up to her (ie the issue when the dogs).
Dave and amber: Dave tried hard but amber was too insecure ( like during the cringeworthy convo with his friends wives or the whole “his type” thing )
Tristan and Mia: it was a mess from beginning to end.
Excited to see shawneice and jephte also the Italian couple, they were super cute !
Glad Tristan got smart and realized he was married to a Looney Tune. She would never have made him happy, and I think he deserves an honest, sincere woman – he’s a good guy.
Dave and Amber don’t belong together either. She’s way too self-centered and I don’t think he’ll ever get over the fact that she dated one of the guys he knows at the gym. Not only did he date her, but Dave was privy to some of the problems they had. Not good. He can do much better than her, but it’s a pity he had to go through this first.
Danielle and Bobby seem OK, but have never been very interesting. Maybe that’s the key to a good match – they get along and there’s no drama. Plus a little baby coming? Hope they do well.
When is the Honeymoon Island show on tonight? I can’t find it on my TV guide. Should be fun to watch.
I found honeymoon island at 8:05p tonight, I’m in AZ…so in about an hour.
Amber seemed like a completely different person! I felt a little sympathy for her even. Oh well, I don’t think David is the one for her, as the season played out I wasn’t really feeling Dave so much. Not a good match.
I was worried that Tristan would stay long enough to knock up Mia, that’d been really bad. So relieved he saw the light very quickly. Mia has A LOT of growing up to do and per RHOC recommendations therapy and possibly meds should be a priority immediately.
Danielle and Bobby got lucky, period. These matchmakers are not good at couple selection. Danielle and Bobby found their match perfect in each other, good for them. They seem very happy (we may find them boring) and that’s all that ultimately matters in a relationship, not what we think. A baby? I’m excited for them, I’ll watch to baby show too.
Thanks for the recaps TT!
At the beginning of the show I REALLY felt like Dave got the short end of the stick, but now I feel like Amber may have been the one. Everyone has a past Dave, even you, I think Amber learned a lot about herself and she will definitely find her happily ever after.
Bobby and Danielle-you couldn’t pay me to watch another show with them on it, they are boring AF, although Danielle always felt the need to comment on everyone else’s relationship.
Tristan and Mia-she’s a train wreak, I’m shocked he didn’t run from the jump, the sex must have been really good.
@Sonia – I find it hard to believe Tristan and Mia even had sex. They had zero chemistry.
David mentioned in one of the earlier episodes that Amber dated a friend of his from the gym and he remembered what the guy told him about Amber.
I didn’t watch last night but I remember he said that it was hard knowing what the friend said about Amber, now that she was his wife. He said he wouldn’t have married her based on what the friend be at the gym said about her.
Whatever the guy said about Amber while dating her must have been pretty bad but David said he was trying to give the marriage a chance anyway.
I think it was the 1st or 2nd episode when David mentioned it in a confessional.
David definitely gave it every attempt.
I love this show, and can’t wait for the new season. And I will watch the MFAS baby show, too. I think Amber really grew after the show ended and was very self aware. I think Dave was acting like a dick and couldn’t get over her dating a friend previously. He was down to have sex with her every day, as he mentioned a few times during the show. I’m happy for Bobby and Danielle.
Dave showed his ‘dickness’ on the honeymoon when he couldn’t even deal with a salsa lesson. It was something Amber wanted to do, not him. They had to live in his apartment. He followed every compliment with a qualifier or put down. He put down everything she did or liked. Yes, she was very insecure, but he certainly did NOTHING to boost her confidence.
I still want an ugly divorce show. Now we have 2 couples that will bring the crazy. Amber will want a turkey baster and sperm in the settlement .(alias P.Cronin)
I never thought Dave and Amber should’ve stayed together in the first place. I don’t think Dave was into her that deep. I think he was forcing himself. He kept making a point to say they had sex every night like that was proof of something. I think Amber felt that and it made her even more insecure. Also, Dave probably knew a lot about Amber and the gym guy including their problems. He may have seen those arising in his marriage with Amber. Or, who knows, maybe that was an excuse bc Amber just wasn’t the one.
Yeah, Mia is a huge liar. Tristan was so done with her. You could see it in his body language. There always seems to be person who gets the short end of the marriage stick – Last season John, this season Tristan. The matchmakers really did a disservice by encouraging them to even stick it out. I wish Tristan hadn’t made the comment about color. It’s such a sensitive issue for many and for good reason.
The other couple – snore. I have no idea what a perfect relationship looks like anyway, lol.
I can’t wait to watch Shawneice & Jephte. I’ll fast forward over Danielle and Bobby.
Thanks TT for recapping the season!!
Yeah, Dave seemed to be “hitting it” while he had the opportunity, not because he was into her. I don’t blame Amber for being insecure.
Thanks for continuing to recap! I never make comments but I do read many of your show recaps 🙂
I love this show. This was my least favorite season though. Thank you TT for watching and recapping this for us.
God I cannot even wait for 90 days in to come back. Please lord let it come back.
If y’all let me know when 90 days starts instead of emailing me midseason asking me to recap that would be great Thanks. I don’t even know what channel it is on.
TLC started10-21(last Sunday)
Mia is crazy and not ready for marriage. I’m a little sad for Amber and Dave as they had been through so much in growing together. I was hoping Amber might calm down a bit after the cameras were gone. Ultimately, Amber’s insecurities did her in. Dave had the patience of a saint with her and he won’t have any issues meeting someone. I feel like production talked up the old boyfriend for drama. Yes, Dave mentioned him but it wasn’t a running theme during the show. Amber looks great with her natural color which makes her look younger. Bobby and Danielle are so boring.
Just finally watched. The reaction Amber had to Danielle’s pregnancy is exactly why Dave does want to stay married!! It’s always “what about me”. She is extremely self centered.
