James Leonard Jr. told Page Six in no uncertain terms that Teresa and Joe are not getting a divorce. He’s the thing. There was absolutely no context for this quote. He could have just as easily said Teresa didn’t have a ham sandwich for lunch today. It’s unclear if Page Six actually contacted him, or if he just rang up the website to make the announcement completely out of the blue. It’s bizarre.
Perhaps it might have made sense weeks ago when Teresa went to Luann de Lesseps cabaret show and oddly inquired about what it was like for her going through a public divorce on RHONY. Since then there has been nary a peep about her marriage in the tabloids. So why bring it up now?
ALL THE POSTS ABOUT JOE’S DEPORTATION
Here’s what her creepy lawyer said today:
“Teresa is not talking about getting divorced, she is not thinking about getting divorced and she’s not filing for divorce,” Teresa’s lawyer, James Leonard Jr., told Page Six on Monday. “It’s not happening, not just now, but never. I can’t be any more clear about it.”
ICE has had a deportation detainer on Joe since very shortly after he was incarcerated and the process has already begun at the request of Joe’s lawyers. They likely will not be able to stop him from being transported to a deportation facility upon the completion of his sentence on March 14, 2019. With less than six months until the transfer date, the deportation proceedings have a long way to go. Ultimately, it is way more likely than not that Joe will be deported. Surely Teresa’s lawyer friend has told her that.
THE FACTS OF JOE GIUDICE’S DEPORTATION HAVE NOT CHANGED!
So are we to believe she is planning her move to Italy? With the oldest daughter in her senior year of high school, will she take the younger three to Italy and leave Gia in college? Joe will never be able to work again. How would Teresa support the family if she moved to Italy?
How many more season could RHONJ possibly have? Bravo is not thrilled with the season that is wrapping up now. What on Earth could Teresa do to earn a living in Italy?
How do you think this will all work out? I think she’ll divorce Joe.
I think she’s said she doesn’t plan on moving to Italy, so she may not ever officially divorce him, but that doesn’t mean she won’t separate from him. Her creepy lawyer is probably advising her against divorce for a few reasons. One is that he’d want half of whatever they have. The other reason is, if she’s not divorced she can’t expect creepy lawyer to marry her.
Wait, the lawyer is advising her not to divorce so she won’t have to marry him? Wouldn’t he advise her TO divorce in that case?
I don’t think the lawyer would ever want to be married to Teresa, but if she divorces Joe, she might want to marry the lawyer. If she never gets divorced she can play house with the lawyer and he (the lawyer) can avoid ever having to marry her. Is that clearer?
Your logic makes no sense… an oxymoron.
I get what you’re saying and agree!
He’s going to Italy one way or another.
A lot of questions regarding this…
How faithful is Teresa Guidice to her Catholic faith? I could see a situation where he goes to Italy and she stays in the States to raise the girls while both of them have an “understanding” where relationships are concerned. Then maybe she joins him full-time when RHONJ finally runs it’s course and the kids are grown?
And don’t forget that Joe and Teresa’s families come from the same tiny village in Italy. How much will that factor into her staying with him? It might be too much to try to unravel that much family with a divorce.
We saw that tiny little village in Italy on an episode. I’m sure it’s lovely to visit but can anyone see Teresa living there after the bright lights of The Garden State Mall in Paramus NJ and even better NYC? I don’t think so. Where would she get her botox and leopard spandex?
Carolyn was spot on years ago. Teresa is going to leave Joe and then write a book bashing him and explaining how she had to leave to set an example as a strong woman for, “her girls”
I live in NJ and I can imagine a few years down the road, I’ll walk into an Italian restaurant and the woman seating me and handing me my menu will look vaguely familiar. I’ll sit down, rake my brain and look over once or twice then notice that low hair line, the tight leopard print shirt and hear that grating Jersey accent as she explains the”ingrediences” in a dish and it will all come flooding back..
Ok, time for my nap.
They can live anywhere in Italy. That doesn’t change the validity of all of your points though. I can’t think of anyway Teresa and kids moving to Italy is feasible.
Caroline really has no room to talk. I know people in the town she lives and they use to laugh whenever she would go after Joe and Teresa about his cheating. Her husband has his own long time lover, that Caroline knows about. They said its the worse kept secret in town. But Caroline would never write a book about it, because she too far up on her own pedestal. The only people that think her marriage is perfect it her.
“The only people that think her marriage is perfect it her.” And that is the only opinion that counts. Certainly not Internet trolls or the town gossips.
THIS!!!!!
Maybe this makes me Bravo trash, but I think the logistics of getting deported would finally give them a storyline.
I mean, imagine it: Joe giving tours of stuff he knows nothing about to Brits or flipping pizzas or something. Or trying to get an Italian driver’s license. I actually think that would be entertaining with these idiots, and NJ has been my least favorite franchise since the charges and that garbage WWHL, when they still acted all aw shucks.
I don’t even think this would cost much to make, compared to the cast trips and silly parties and such.
Yes!! That would be a fabulous show. A realistic version of Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie’s “A Simple Life” where they tried to milk cows or be hairdressers.
Joe and Teresa would actually really be trying out jobs and navigating getting driver’s licenses, cars, housing, cable installed, etc. Even trips to the grocery stores in foreign countries are fun. One of the shows had several ladies remarking on the eggs being out at room temperature and being priced per egg, not per dozen.
Then we would actually be able to vicariously experience Italy. So many foreign cast trips film inside restaurants and we don’t get much of interest. The Atlanta ladies were in Barcelona during protests and we heard nary a peep about them.
If Tre wants to justify a divorce she need only google Pope Alexander VI, aka Rodrigo Borgia, father of Lucretia. If a pope can do all that shit, what’s a little D-I-V-O-R-C-E?
This went in the wrong place.
What I MEANT to post here was …
I LOVE this idea for a Bravo show. Too bad the title “The Ugly American” has been used already.
Joe and Teresa could not even do a Bravo trip to Canada from Italy to wave at his old home from across the border. They don’t allow felons.
I didn’t even think of that. Maybe Theresa can’t go to Italy at all, because she’s a felon. They’ll have to send Joe and Melissa to go film with Joe stomping grapes or whatever. Watch, the cameras will be rolling.
This is why we must all fight to keep the word retarded alive.
Yes, I’ve actually stuck to my guns and have not watched since Teresa came back. Their – mostly HER – complete lack of remorse or any smidgen of accountability turned me off. I don’t want to risk the possibility of giving them ratings. I do, however, usually read Tamara’s recaps and the comments because they are all so entertaining.
Why will Joe never be able to work again?
He’s a convicted felon plus his lack of citizenship would make finding a job difficult.
People with felony’s work all over. Depends on the type of felony. Some company’s won’t consider them other company’s absolutely hire.
Since Joe’s revolved around taxes he might be on. Being a thief or violent are worst because insurance doesn’t like those two crimes.
Joes never worked for anyone else so you might be right
Illegal immigrants can not work legally anywhere. Which is irrelevant because Joe is getting deported.
To me, what they did is thievery. The thing with these types of crimes is that there’s often no exposure of the damage done to the debtholder. Many independent business owners can tell stories of struggles that resulted from non-payment of debts they were owed. And when people cheat on taxes it means honest taxpayers must shoulder more of the burden.
He’s incarcerated and will be moved to another facility during the deportation process. He’ll probably never be out in the open in the USA again: Prison, deportation facility, final deportation, plane to Italy.
Since he won’t be released, he can’t skip his court date and remain in the country illegally.
At least, that’s what I understand.
Once he is released, either in the U.S. (or more likely, in Italy) he can easily work again.
He can be paid for filming tv shows.
He can write a book about his time in prison like Teresa did.
He can open any number of businesses (Italian restaurant and boutique like Melissa and the other Joe did…although their’s weren’t legit, there’s no reason Joe Giudice couldn’t open a business).
In Italy, as an Italian citizen, his conviction in the U.S. may not matter. He could start up a new construction company just like the one he had in the U.S. He has experience building houses. Other than switching to the metric system in his measurements, the fundamentals will be the same.
Idk what the future holds, but Italy has a difficult economy right now and houses in Italy are in no sense built like those in the US. They have a saying in Italy: “In Italy we live for today but we build for forever.”
“He can be paid for filming tv shows.”
IN ITALY?
“He can write a book about his time in prison like Teresa did.”
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! breathers BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
“He can open any number of businesses (Italian restaurant and boutique like Melissa and the other Joe did…although their’s weren’t legit, there’s no reason Joe Giudice couldn’t open a business).”
He is not allowed to take out loans in the US . AND HE IS GOING TO BE DEPORTED!
“In Italy, as an Italian citizen, his conviction in the U.S. may not matter. He could start up a new construction company just like the one he had in the U.S. He has experience building houses. Other than switching to the metric system in his measurements, the fundamentals will be the same.”
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHH!
no really. This is hysterical.
He is going to Italy. He doesn’t really speak Italian (I know he thinks he does, and y’all think he does, but he doesn’t). He’ll have to do trash collection or street sweeping or stock shelves or dishwashing or something that doesn’t involve speaking with customers.
It’s funny that anyone even thinks that Joe has ever heard of the metric system, much less be able to use it.
Without a green card, he cannot work in the US at all. Anywhere. Doing anything.
Especially because he won’t BE in the US.
I believe this completely. Teresa is a staunch Catholic and I can’t see her filing for divorce, plus I think she’d worry about the impact it would have on her daughters. Not that I think she should stay with him – he’s been a bad husband with the drinking, womanizing and whatever – but I think she will.
I agree Rose. Divorce is not taken lightly, especially with children involved with many Italian, Roman Catholics. She and the daughters can still go back and forth , be in Italy, as well as visit or stay with relatives. This arrangement would not have to disrupt and traumatize the children any more than they already have been by all these separations. The children do still love their father and will worry about him over there alone. I would think that they would not want to see or experience anymore pain than they all have already been experiencing if possible at least for a time.
“staunch Catholic” ROFLMAO! Where do y’all get this stuff?
TT-didn’t you see her cross herself whilst looking heavenwards AND THEN KISSED (something) IN A CHURCH?? O she’s staunch alrighti!!
My Catholic experiences include a few midnight masses and watching the Pope on TV and even so I know she’s not doing things right.
Teresa only goes to church on Christmas and Easter for appearances only.
English, I adore you but really, Teresa worrying about a divorce effecting her girls? Yes Tre might say the words but I have not seen her concerned about anything effecting her girls.
From stealing, prison and all that went with that mess, public brawls with friends, throwing furniture, good grief. A little late for Teresa to be concerned.
Forgot about the Roman Catholic thing.
A separation is the smartest thing for all involved. That can work.
Teresa was on Celebrity apprentice so she is chummy with our nepotistic Pres; I foresee a wildcard being thrown and him staying here in america with some cummunity service. He isn’t Hispanic so he should be good 😉
Oh wow, I never even thought about that, but I suppose it could happen.
I do think she will be making that call and playing that card. I mentioned that last article and got some heat. Not saying it will work, but she has that card.
/insert head banging emoji here.
TT, your titles are a gift, including this one ! I DO recall hearing Teresa say in on a program not long after Joe began doing his time that she wiuld consider moving to Italy as a family if he was deported. It could have been WWHL. I don’t recall for sure. That could have been forc”show” at the time.
I’ve heard her say that before too. I just don’t see an avenue for them to support their children in Italy. I doubt they have a lot of equity in the ginormous house. Teresa spends money like the IRS is going to come take it any minute. I suppose if they lived a very, very modest life they could get along for a while.
I think the person who suggested that they live in separate counties my have the best option, The could spend summers there. Gia should major in Italian in college which would be hard to do since I doubt she has taken any classes thus far.
She could put the girls in school in Italy. Let them become bilingual. Put them to work with the RHONJ money runs out. I dunno.
I really don’t see a clear way for this family to stay together in Italy.
I really can’t see it either….the big vision of moving to Italy & all of that. Well, should be interesting.
I would bet the millions that is stashed within the families and kids is plenty to keep them going for a while.
They were probably prepared for this along with friends who have been in the same position, waiting for the hammer to fall.
They never came across worried about having money. In fact, it’s nauseating how they seem to not have much of a care about available cash whatsoever.
The cash is somewhere, and perhaps even somewhere that where and who has it wants it to stay unknown. A lot of dishonest people had to be involved. My theory, lol.
Omg I read that as ‘TT your titties are a gift’ and I almost died. Sorry for the interruption. Carry on.
I was drinking water and nearly choked when I read your comment, lol.
My titties are quite exceptional.
I read that the same way, too. I was like what??
LOL, y’all got Joe writing books in his spare time between restaurant openings, and Teresa, a staunch Catholic, who made it all possible by calling in a little favor. Good stuff!
I see her asking, uncertain of the outcome. She should get busy asking.
Trump got his in-laws here in March, citizenship a few months later.
TT maybe there is something we don’t understand that you do. I know people that are ready to be deported can get taken off deportation list for several reasons.
I doubt any of those reasons apply to Joe but rules don’t apply equally.
I doubt it will happen but nothing is impossible now days, nothing.
Trump will not save or Pardon Joe.
Jo I don’t see Trump pardoning Joe either but U never thought a lot of things would be happening that are.
Over 1000 -5,000 children now living in tents without parents. #ourshame
That was happening before Trump.
And Trump may be crazy, but he’s not stupid enough to stop some Housewive’s husband from being deported … I hope!
He did release a woman because Kim Kardashian asked him too. This really doesnt seem as far fetched as it should.
I’m shocked about the whole deportation thing! I actually laughed the first time I read about this, thinking it was just another Bravo storyline. Will Italy even take him? He was raised here in the U.S.. His only Italian ties are his birth village and the bits of family that remain there. A felon now, an undesirable . . . the kind of guy who works both ends against the middle. Can he get a license/permit in Italy to build something? Anything? Are we sure deportation is inevitable? This ALL seems so bizarre!
Regarding Teresa divorcing him? Oh hell no! It was his job to protect her (and their family). That’s what good men do. Why would she divorce him when she can torture him for the rest of his life!
He’s an Italian citizen. He never got his American citizenship.
Italy HAS to take him since he is their citizen.
Well technically they don’t HAVE to and we can’t force them to but they are SUPPOSED to and if they don’t it will cause them some serious repercussions. So they will.
I think he will divorce her. She’s all about semantics and it looks better if he files. She blames him for getting them both thrown in jail, so in her mind, he owes this to her. Now she doesn’t look like the bad guy because she didn’t initiate the divorce.
I’m sorry, but the thought of Teresa not wanting to get a divorce because of the Church is a laff! Bitch had no problem with bank fraud, tax fraud, physically attacking people, and lying about everything under the sun Give me a break. Wayyyyy to late for her to be worried about how things work.
None of her kids know The Lords Prayer or what some Catholics call “Our Father.” Theresa has no idea what the nativity scene was in her house one year when the kids asked. When Teresa went to the little chapel (on her property? or wherever…) with her kids none of them knew how to make the sign of the cross and Teresa does it wrong half the time. When the kids asked her about Ash Wednesday she didn’t know the answer because they only went to be on camera.
Teresa only likes the catholic traditions that involve pretty dresses like confirmation.
But Teresa still has her Catholic School uniforms. I don’t really want to know why she saved those.
I was raised in NJ as a strict Irish Catholic & also attended RC schools with nuns & uniforms like Teresa. Although she spouts off about it all the time, she’s actually an embarrassment to the faith (& the state, for that matter). She certainly has no trouble in lying, cheating & stealing, so I doubt divorce would bother her. Besides breaking most of the commandments, she’s committed mortal sins on national TV! Some old-fashioned priests might say she should be ex-communicated. And as you pointed out Tamara, she can barely say The Lord’s Prayer or even bless herself properly! She & Joe having a “chapel” on their vacation property was a SACRELEGE if I’ve ever seen one!
It doesn’t really matter, TT. No matter Teresa’s religion (Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Buddhist, or Hindu, Teresa should know to always do the right thing! There is no in between . . just DO THE RIGHT THING!
What kind of Catholic school doesn’t teach religion? We are not Catholic yet my boys went to catholic school where one hour daily for four years they had a religion class. All four years was not Catholic teachings but we all know the basics.
It makes no sense!
If Tre wants to justify a divorce she need only google Pope Alexander VI, aka Rodrigo Borgia, father of Lucretia. If a pope can do all that shit, what’s a little D-I-V-O-R-C-E? She only likes the pomp and circumstance of the church anyway.
look, not work.
So once he is deported back to Italy would he ever be allowed back to visit his family in the US? Or is that out of the question based on his history?
Nope.
And he can’t go to Canada either. They don’t allow felons into the country. BECAUSE THEY HAVE BORDER SECURITY.
There are also other countries he will have a hard time visiting as getting a visa will be time consuming and tricky given his record.
My Ex was deported from the US back to the UK for getting into trouble over there and the only way he would be able to go back to the US, say he had to see his sick mother or go to her funeral, would be to have a Presidential pardon. For him that would never happen.
She will wait till Joe is deported to file for divorce. If he’s not here to appear/respond, then she’ll essentially get everything she asks for in her divorce petition.
This lawyer does not have a very good track record with the truth. However, this time I think he may unknowingly be telling the truth. He says she’s not never going to divorce him, that’s 2 negatives which translates to she will divorce him. Kinda scary that an attorney doesn’t speak proper English. But, how would she know the difference.
I know exactly what is going to happen. T is going to move to Rome with Joe. She’ll hook up with the Real Housewives of Rome. Rome ahs a gazillion plastic surgeons, so no loss of Botox, fabulous shopping centers with high end designer boutiques. No problems.
Thank you TT! Talk about a worm hole?
I can see them getting a legal separation. The girls have had their first Holy Communions and probably Confirmations so there is some family tradition there.
Do you think Teresa will try to get Trump to step in and help Joe stay in the country? She was on his show, and she publicly supported him during the election. Does the President have that power?
I think they will most likely separate as he will be permanently residing in Italy but will keep up appearances by having a strong united front. I feel bad for the children. People can say what they will about their dubious parenting choices but I still see the love in that family. Hope it will remain intact.
He will go to Italy and she will stay here. She won’t divorce him because she won’t want to be forced to sell the house or possibly pay spousal support. Her RHONJ and books have been their primary income and she was a party to his crimes that played a role in his deportation so a good atty could get him something, he doesn’t have the cash for one but I’m sure he can get drum it up from people who are upset his “loving wife” didn’t follow him to Italy. But the kicker is I can see HIM divorcing her if she doesn’t go or he thinks she is messing around so she could end up loosing the house anyway…
There is a huge part here no one has mentioned- the small problem of Tre’s father. He doesn’t seem well enough to be uprooted, but I can see him being stubborn enough to think he can do it, and want to go.
I think she will put her dad before Joe any day of the week.
YES! And Teresa is done with Joe because she blames him for being in jail and the time she missed with her Mother before she died because she was in jail. Teresa even said on the show if she found out Joe was unfaithful she “would be done with him”. And as far as divorce…he would be deported and I doubt there is much to be divided. I don’t know NJ divorce law but he would be in Italy…how would he make her pay it? I am going for an annulment or a good old fashioned Mafia Hit once he is deported.
The only reason Teresa will not divorce Joe is because she would have to give him half of her earnings and sell that awful house splitting the sale down the middle and probably child support.
We need a betting board and odds on this.
Lol the title of this post sounds like a Taylor Swift song. Guess its ciao Guidices then as it doesn’t seem as if he’ll be sticking around the US when his sentence is over.
I still don’t think he will be deported. I just don’t. But if he is, I’ve long suspected that they have a ton of cash stashed in Italy which was why he never filed for American citizenship. He was obviously staying on top of keeping his green card valid, because we saw him using it to travel, so lack of awareness or care were not to blame for why he didn’t become a citizen. There had to be some other reason, and hidden cash is usually it. It’s a shame for them that the UK is leaving the EU, because while Teresa can’t move to Italy with a felony conviction, because of EU rules, she can move to any other EU country without a problem. And I’m certain that English and Italian are her only two languages.
Joe didn’t have a green card. He claims he didn’t know he wasn’t a citizen because he immigrated as a baby.
As for that trip he took with the cast to Italy? It is believed he traveled with his brother’s passport. He had several other local arrests for using his brother’s driver’s license when his was suspended. He was given quite a bit of time for that, unfortunately, it really wasn’t any time at all because the state decided that it would be served concurrently with his federal time.
Was Jen correct in saying that Teresa can’t move to Italy due to her felony conviction?
I actually think Teresa could have retained her own Italian citizenship, or could at least apply to have it reinstated. I don’t think she would need to meet immigration criteria that any other foreign spouse would.
Teresa should be fine to live in Italy if she follows all the rules that apply to her to do so. She’s not very good at following legal procedures though.
There is no way she could ever live in Italy, especially southern Italy, where her /his family is from. She would never be able to adapt to the culture, or live in what is now a very economically trashed area. It is dire- families living on top of one another, one member traveling to the north for work, (if they are lucky to find it), etc. Even if the economy were thriving, she could not handle a life without the suburbs of somewhere in the US. There are no Targets, not a lot of pre packaged food, and living in an apartment in Naples? Not enough closet space for her tacky wardrobe. The hills of Tuscany will not be calling her either. Too rural. Not so sure Italy would embrace her either. Can’t see the women there respecting her. No way my friend.
He had to have had a green card, unless he’s been using his brother’s identity all of his adult life. I can’t remember if the kids have ever been overseas, but if they applied for passports for the kids, he would have had to bring ID including documentation of his immigration status to the passport interview. Every mortgage. Every time he took out insurance. Getting a bank account. Then again, document forgery was how they managed to get all those fraudulent mortgages that got them into all of this trouble so who knows?
I agree that watching Teresa in Italy is a nightmare I’d watch, but it IS HARD TO BELIEVE he’s getting deported! His parents should’ve handled that. He was an infant! With all this country has going on, we’ve got Juicey Joe front and center ready for deportation as a priority!
Maybe it’s just me, but it seems ridiculous. I think of the littlest girls….how traumatic this has been. I don’t care about Teresa and Joe per se, but seperating these children from their father is heartbreaking.
The lady doth protest too much, methinks
I don’t think she will divorce him. At this rate, she’d just lose more money that way. I think they’ll have a separation, and they’ll just see other people.
I thought I read the same thing about TT’s exceptional “TT’s”. Best laugh all day. Is it just me or do some of the housewives claim their religion (whatever it may be) when it benefits them in a situation or an argument?
TT- this is off subject- How are you and your liver feeling? Keep an eye on your liver functions. The symptoms can sneak up on you. I was born with a liver disease and had a liver transplant in 2007. I’m still having issues today. I’ve been in the hospital three times in the last two months because of liver complications. I hope you feel better real soon
